Nott took the card that the house elf handed him and made his way to Table 6. There was one other person there already and he smiled to noticed that it was a rather attractive girl. Something about her looked familiar. Nott's forehead scrunched as he studied her on approach. Reaching the table he cleared his expression and smiled widely.
"Hello." He held his hand out for hers. "I'm Nottingham McNair. Pleasure to meet you." He bent to give her a prefunctory kiss on the back of her hand and his eyes came back up to her face and he suddenly smiled widely as he released her hand. "I know you! I watched you at Quidditch tryouts the other day. You flew very well."
Nott was thrilled that worst case scenario he was at least going to have someone to talk Quidditch with. Though granted, his former Quidditch discussion partners were not so lovely. Looking around Nott noticed that the tables had several people at them and he wondered who else would be joining their table for the evening.

LUCY BONKS “It's beauty that captures your attention; personality which captures your heart.” < Gryffindor,Second Year,Quidditch Fan > Lucy arched an eyebrow at the young Slytherin, but couldn't help the pink blush painting over her cheeks as he kissed the back of her hand. Boy, she thought, gallantry still exists? She chuckled under her breath before smiling kindly. "Lucy Bonks. Nice to meet you, too.", she nodded to him before beaming brightly at his compliment, "Why, thank you!" she laughed lightly, her blush slightly deepening. Pan <3

She seemed like a sweet girl, almost shy. Which surprised Nott. From watching her fly he had imagined her as bold and confident. However he could understand how riding a broom could give you an outlet from the real world. Whenever he would have a fight with his parent's at home, his first instinct was to head out with a broom and just ride. There was a sense of peace and control over the world that he found in flying and only there.
His tablemate seemed to be relaxing a little and Nott hoped that she wasn't put off because of the house he came from. Though, deciding it best to stay on safe, neutral territory for now.
"So, you seemed to be an experienced flyer. I can only imagine that someone who flies and has an interest in Quidditch follows to professional teams. Do you have any favorites?" He asked as he took a sip of water from a goblet on the table before adding "I just figure that we should get the important facts out in the open now so we can draw battle lines and really start a good argument over a worthwhile topic."

LUCY BONKS “It's beauty that captures your attention; personality which captures your heart.” < Gryffindor,Second Year,Quidditch Fan > Lucy chuckled embarrassingly and scratched the back of her head, smiling apologetically. "I only began Quidditch last year, here. However, I've heard that the Chudley Cannons were pretty good, and the Holyhead Harpies, too.", she nodded, smiling softly, "But I do like Quidditch." she added, almost to herself as she smiled weakly. All this was new to her since last year, and sometimes it felt like she wasn't used to it, yet. She quickly threw a glance to Tamara, wishing she was with her. Pan <3

  As she read over the card the House Elf had handed her and groaned. It wasn't as if the holiday it self wasn't bad enough. Now she had to deal with, if she was right at who was currently at the table, with Nott's ego. Nott and his overly large ego was beyond her worries. She was dressed up, wearing the rose he had given her, and she was sitting at his table. This was a problem all it own. She stood away from the table as long as she could muster, holding out for the last few minutes of peace. She was certain, no. She was hoping that with others at the table he would be forced to pushed down the beast of his ego. Taking a deep breath, she walked over trying to keep her hands from straying to her bun and ripe the rose out. "Um..Hi, sorry to interrupt," she said, completely ignoring that Nott was even there. Which was hard, given how good he look in all the green and silver, though she thought it was a bit much. Smoothing her hands over skirt and then her robes, she took a seat smiling as she addressed the older girl, "My name is Charlotte, it is nice to meet you." ___My clothes___________*_______are in the scarf______    {{}{Springy 10 1/2 inch, Birch wood with a core of Jobberknoll feather}{}}

Nott gave a mini-fist pump into the air as she named the Cannons and smiled broadly as she continued. She did appear to be unsure of herself, which Nott couldn't understand. She was radiantly beautiful and had a sweet disposition. Though he had already seen in others that sometimes things from peoples pasts couldn't just be shaken off for school robes.
"Now, some people here might try to tell you that the Cannons aren't so good. Don't you believe them. It's just been a rebuilding year...or two. Alright sort of for the last century they haven't quite hit their stride. But I have a lot of faith in next year. Trust me, Cannon's fans are the ones with the biggest hearts and the best eye for true quality. I'm telling you, at the match I went to right before school started, their new Chase-"
Nott broke off as he saw the next member of their table approaching. He had paused in mid-speech and his mouth still hung slightly open. Standing up from the table as she joined them, he found himself struck to silence as she greeted Lucy, completely beyond his scope of notice that she didn't acknowledge him. It reminded him of the first time he had seen her in Hogsmeade. She hadn't been dressed up like this but he had still been struck by her from across the crowded room. But to see her like this was a whole new level.
"Wow...Lottie...You look...I mean...that dress..." He bumbled through phrases. Not even quite sure what he was trying to say. Realizing that he must look like a total fool he cleared his throat and smiled as he turned back to Lucy. "You have to forgive me. I'm just not used to seeing her with a book and a look like she wants to shin kick me."
He glanced back to Charlotte and wasn't entirely sure that he still didn't see that look in there.

  At first she had been rather flattered by his stuttering, her face went warm and she felt a shy smile. She hadn't thought much on her appearance. She simply pulled her hair up into a bun, pulled the dress her mother had sent her back with from her travel chest, and put on the had laying at the end of chest on her feet. Yet there he is...stutt- Being a complete p***k, Charlotte thought resisting the temptation though it was hard. It is like he is begging for me to actually hit him. I wondering if I should take him up on the offer. Reaching for the water, she hoped to calm herself down enough not to follow through with the idea. Sipping it, she decided to focus on talking only to Lucy. Lucy was safe, she was kind, and seemed nice enough to have a conversation with. So she said to the older girl, "So...I suppose that you, being a second year, have had a lot of knowledge about the school, right? Do you know of any shortcuts and secret passage ways. I've heard the litter the entire school and I've been itching to find one."___________________*___________________    {{}{Springy 10 1/2 inch, Birch wood with a core of Jobberknoll feather}{}}

  Charlotte clapped her hands excitedly. Books, upon books on Hogwarts, about those who went who Hogwarts, those who had studied Hogwarts entire History had told tales of hidden passage ways, maps of the entire castles, and rumors of shortcuts and hidden doors. A small part of Charlotte's excitement about being accepted was the chance to find the hidden secrets of Hogwarts. A puzzle that would never fully be solved, that would challenge her intelligence and help her on certain occasions. Smiling eagerly she asked, "How did you find the passage? Where is it?"She was so interested that she didn't even need to try ignore Nott. She basically ignored his exist in favor of more information, something she was sure Nott had gotten use to this. It was her favorite way of avoiding his massive ego, which was sure need at least a whole table to itself had it been given flesh, blood, and breath. I should teach this ability to whatever poor dear end up with him, she thought as she glanced out over the sea of tables and students around her. ___________________*___________________    {{}{Springy 10 1/2 inch, Birch wood with a core of Jobberknoll feather}{}}

LUCY BONKS “It's beauty that captures your attention; personality which captures your heart.” < Gryffindor,Second Year,Quidditch Fan > Lucy smiled brightly at Charlotte's interest in the passageway. "Well, the one to Zonko's is located on the Third Floor, behind that weird statue, you know?", she explained joyfully, "And the other one is in the Dungeons. But I think it's locked or something." she muttered, almost as if to herself. She wasn't sure whether it was or not, she got stopped by Stayne, who was suspicious by her hair covered in spider web, and coughing dust. She simply scoffed at him and walked way while he whaled at her, saying she earned a month's worth detention. Pan <3

Nott sat still dumbly staring at Charlotte. She looked so different. More grown-up. Of course when she started talking about secret passageways and her eyes lit up, he saw the Charlotte he knew well. That thirst for knowledge and eagerness to catch up with everyone else. Nott managed to clear his head and listen to Lucy listing the locations of known passageways. Now this was knowledge that Nott could really get on board with.
Third floor, behind the weird statue. Check.
He would definitely be looking into that. Because as thoughts of shopping in town and getting butterbeer directly faded, he came to a realization. Fenniwick. He could check in on the old man himself. The last letter he had from his father said that they still hadn't heard from him and figured that he was out of town on business. But Nott wasn't convinced. He told his father all about the chest, how he felt that it surely had something to do with the old man's disappearance. His father only wanted to know more about the chest. Typical of a restoration artist to only be interested in furniture when a person was missing.
"So, the one in the dungeon, do you know where it is supposed to lead?" Being that the Slytherin common rooms were in the dungeon it would be easier and faster to get to that one. Most likely. The dungeons were vast but Nott could be stealthy when the time called for it. ((He tries but he doesn't know nearly as much about women as he thinks that he does))
