In the midst of fighting Alkaid and focusing all the hate she had currently possessed on the corrupted senshi, the battle seemed to spin around her. One of the Guardians of Elysion was being attacked, but she had no power to help him, to defend him from the others. Sometimes, Flora thought privately, her powers really sucked. But what mattered more now was taking down as many Negaversers as she could... right?
Wrong.
Before she knew what was happening, she heard a whoop of joy and the next thing she knew, she was practically yanked out of the place, gasping. The last thing she saw was the dark energy spreading across the place, and the feeling of dread rose in her stomach like bile. It's not fair. She thought. I wasn't done yet. Really, she knew it sounded horribly immature, but it wasn't as if she was a spoiled little brat demanding to know why she didn't get her favorite color of jellybeans all the time. This was a battle. This was something she could have done, but she hadn't.
"I was there." She said aloud in her bedroom, her voice sounding like a broken echo. "I couldn't do anything. I couldn't stop them. I couldn't even..." Sobs overtook her and she pulled her blanketed legs to her chest, burying her face in them. "It's not fair. I couldn't do... I couldn't..." It was as though she had let everyone down, let herself down. The wave of guilt that overtook her crashed over her, filling her with angry tears, and Eve clenched her fists. She barely even cared that she had suffered injuries from the fight with Alkaid; as far as she was concerned, the pain in her stomach and the side of her cheek as bruises formed were nothing compared to the pain in her heart.

The softest sound of a voice down the empty hallway of their dorm alerted Rea that her roommate had been expelled from Elysion, closed eyes flicking open in realization. After failing to get back in after being thrown out by Quail, the strawberry blonde girl had laid there for quite a while on her back in her bed, shoving back the need to vomit again and letting herself ruminate over what had occurred. Part of her was afraid she would vomit up blood again, her minds eye already flashing the scene before her eyes, the thick streaks of red which had lined the putrid bile. If she did, she knew she'd have to force herself to the hospital. Already it was painful to breathe, cracked ribs groaning under each expanding and contracting breath, the possibility of one being broken shaking her further, fear rising threateningly in her throat. So with the pain and the fear and the disappointment of failure there had been no way she would have been able to go back to sleep, and in the end she was grateful even as she almost cried out in pain upon shoving the covers off her legs, forcing herself to stand and walk slowly down the hallway to her best friend's room.
It took a few minutes, and by the time she reached the door she'd already conjured up nightmares of what she could find when she reached her blonde roommate. Would she find her dying, broken into a million pieces? The vision of Uranophane approaching, ready to step on her neck, would haunt her for months.
"Eve... Eve what happened, are you hurt?" Rea collapsed onto the comforter without permission, a bracing hand finding the mattress to support herself before she moved closer to where Eve had curled her legs up to her chest. "Tell me, do you need an ambulance?" she continued in a breathy tone, barely above a fearful whisper. Shaking hands moved over her roommate's delicate frame, checking for blood or broken bones in a panicked motion. She couldn't be hurt. She couldn't be. She would kill them. She'd kill them all, every single one of them. Panting hard although it hurt to breathe, her hands stroked over soft blonde hair, down over her shoulders and arms and ribs, not even thinking about how perhaps Eve might find it a violation of her privacy. She'd apologize when she was finished, when she was sure she was safe and whole.
She was afraid to ask what happened to Elysion.

"I'll survive." Eve managed to choke out. And as much as she tried wiping the tears frantically away from her cheeks, they still flowed, dampening her cheeks and her bedsheets. "She didn't get me as bad as she did Euterpe. I didn't get her as bad as she did him, either." A lump rose in her throat and she swallowed, turning towards Rea with a stricken look upon her face. "I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry. I couldn't do anything. I couldn't help you. I couldn't even get her back for what she did to music boy..." She trailed away, not knowing what to say anymore. No amount of apologies would take away this guilt within her, this feeling that something had simply just keeled over and died when the Negaverse took over that part of Elysion.
It took a few shuddering deep breaths for her to compose herself the best she could considering the current circumstances, and looked at the beaten face of Rea. The corners of her lips could not turn up to smile, no matter how hard she tried; they only could quiver. "You're the one who needs an ambulance." She told her roommate somberly, and reached over to dial 911. "Why didn't you call them just now?" Now, her priority was to make sure Rea was okay, just like how she had previously made sure Luke made it home safely. No one was going unattended on her watch.
