User ImageArgintie shook himself off, sides still heaving from the race he'd just finished with the tribe's guardian. Best of all, he actually won this time. Argintie smirked with pride, knowing he was getting better and actually becoming a challenge to the larger guardian. Prowling into the trees, he decided to celebrate with a much earned dinner. And, he could tease Kito with it.

Frowning, Argintie looked around, wondering where the small blue fox had gotten himself off to. Growling softly to himself in annoyance, Argintie's tail lashed at the thought that Kito had gone off somewhere on his own, never mind that the Deava had flown off without the blue fox in the first place. Still, Kito could hardly take care of himself, what with his penchant for being nice to any fox they happened to come across.

Images of that purple Phim entered his mind and Argintie stalked into the forest, intent on finding his new prey. Anger made his flames flare, curling the fallen leaves with the heat. He was going to kill that Phim if it came near Kito again. He had forced Kito to join this tribe on purpose. That Phim wasn't supposed to find him here. None of those other foxes were supposed to find him here.

User ImageIgnorance being bliss, Kito was ears deep in a shallow bend of the river, trying to catch himself some trout. He was off on his own again, something that was normal whenever Gin wasn't around. Kito liked being in the tribe, but he still wasn't very comfortable around most foxes due to his shyness. Kito blew out the rest of the breath he was holding and lifted his head from the water, wading out a little further.

Stilling, he waited for the fish to come in again, thinking on all the things that happened since joining the tribe. The biggest event hat to be when Gin had accidentally gotten a Phim pregnant and ended up with three sweet little deava kits...two of which the cantankerous father foisted on Kito. Not that the blue fox minded in the least. However, now Kito was the one suffering from empty nest syndrome. He'd loved those kits like they were his own and now they were all grown up and off doing their own things.

Kito pouted a bit; he wanted more kits to cuddle and raise. A brief flash of kits that looked like him and Gin flashed through his mind and Kito blushed and ducked his head. He was embarrassed, although there was no one around; not that they could hear his thoughts anyway...right? Looking around quickly, he saw he was still alone and relaxed, chiding himself for his silly thoughts. Dunking his head under the water to cool his muzzle, he tried to refocus his attention on catching dinner.

Argintie easily picked up the familiar scent of his long-time companion and stalked after his trail. Argintie's flames were curling the leaves as he passed over them, mumbling darkly under his breath. Coming to the edge of the river, the Deava found his target and he crouched low, watching the unsuspecting blue fox.

Kito seemed to have caught his fish; a nice big trout. Argintie saw the opportunity to get, not only Kito back at his side, but dinner as well. Waiting until Kito was back in the shallows, Argintie pounced. He shot a paw out and tapped Kito on his flank, causing the blue fox to lose his footing. Catching the fish, Argintie made quick work of it and looked down at the surprised blue fox. "Why did you wander off?" He demanded.

Kito, proud that he had caught such a large fish, and on his way to share it with Gin, was quite surprised when he found himself sitting in water and watching his friend inhale their supper by himself. Gaping like the ill-fated fish, Kito jumped to his feet. "Gin! That was supposed to be for both of us!" He scolded, not surprised when Gin ignored him and asked his own question.

"Why? To get dinner, that's why! You were racing again and I thought I'd get us some food. You're always hungry after a race." Kito replied. He had started off shouting, but his usual temperament returned quickly. Gin was pretty much immune to shouting anyway and trying to instill manners in this Deava was akin to banging one's head against a tree.

Argintie stared at Kito and nudged him out of the water since it was starting to get cold now that the sun was going down. "I thought you were going off to see That Phim again." Argintie replied, giving Kito a half-glare. "Next time you want to get dinner, you can stay next to me and we can go together. And I don't want to hear of you leaving tribe lands without me either." The Deava said, laying down his rules.

He continued nudging Kito away from the water, ignoring the exasperated glances being thrown his way. Argintie was going to put Kito somewhere safe, then hunt them down a deer or something. That fish wasn't nearly enough.

Kito blinked up at Gin. "Phim? What...oh. That Phim. Gin! I'm not going to see Morin here, and he doesn't have designs on me anyway. We're friends. Just friends." The blue fox said in exasperation. Not leave tribe lands without him? Since when did Kito go anywhere without Gin? This jaunt to the river was barely a mile away. Was Gin that worried about Morin?

"Gin, why are you so jealous of Morin anyway?" Kito asked as he was shoved into the surrounding shrubbery. He acquiesced with a sigh. Gin was in one of his over-protective moods, which was annoying, but he was at least going hunting for them, which was definitely not annoying. Kito's growling stomach agreed with him. "It's not like he's done anything but talk to me."

Argintie stopped dead in his tracks. "Jealous!" The Deava whirled on his friend. "Of that over-stuffed, flamboyant, arrogant.... I'm not jealous of that Phim, Kito. Stay here." Argintie growled before taking to the air again. He needed to get his aggression out, and killing a poor defenseless deer sounded like a good idea.

Him? Jealous? Not even a little bit! Ha! At least...not enough to admit to. After all, what was the point in being jealous. Kito was HIS and his alone. Well...not entirely was he? Argintie caught his deer, then paused a bit. There had to be a way to claim Kito as his and only his. The deava merely had to think about it.

Kito watched his friend fly off with wide eyes. Gin was jealous? Really? About...about him? Kito had merely said that to tease his friend, a joke. But, Gin really, was jealous, never mind his friend's denial. Gin never knew his true feelings. The blue and silver fox thought about that. No, Gin never really acknowledged his true feelings and, worse, rarely acted on them.

One only had to look at his reactions to his own kits. Kito knew Gin loved his kits, and he hoped Sitara and Tsuna knew that too...even if their dad was too stubborn to admit it to anyone. Argintie showed it, though, through how protective he was of them...probably part of the problem he had with Morin was that neither of his kids minded the Phim. Kito frowned; Gin was protective of him too...but he'd always been protective of Kito.

So Gin loved him? Or didn't love him and was just protective of him? Kito snorted. Great, so glad he was able to narrow it down to only two options. Maybe he should go find a flower to decide the issue for him. Kito chuckled, "He loves me, he loves me not."

Argintie dropped just out of Kito's sight with the deer just in time to hear Kito's comment to himself. Love? What? "Who loves you exactly?" Argintie asked, sounding a lot more menacing than he intended. He watched Kito tense, ears dropping back before the blue fox's guilty gaze flew to Argintie's own.

The blue fox jumped to his feet and shook his head, trying to think of something...anything to explain what he'd just said. "L-love? No-noone. I-I was just...I found it f-funny...Flowers! There's a...there's a thing with a flower. And you...you say that when you pull off the petals. I was just...thinking...about that...it was funny...." Gods, could he sound any more insane? Kito took one look at the look Gin was giving him and quickly shut up and looked around for a distraction.

Quite conveniently his gaze landed on the deer. "Silly, right? Let's have dinner. I'm starving." Kito pointed out, though he didn't move towards the food right away.

Argintie eyed the fox in front of him before a slow, slightly sadistic smile, designed to cause the recipient no end of nervous tremors, crossed his muzzle. The deava lazily put one paw on the deer carcass and leaned towards the smaller fox. "Kito, you can't lie to me. You can't actually lie period." The deava informed his friend.

Hatching a plan, Argintie sliced into the deer and pulled out a strip of meat, dangling it in front of Kito. The leopard spotted deava knew that this particular piece was the smaller fox's facorite. "If you tell me the truth, I'll let you have first bite." Argintie promised. Which, of course, implied that Argintie was going to eat Kito's treat if the fox refused.

Kito dropped his ears and whined pitifully up at his evil best friend. It was so not fair that Gin could manipulate him so easily. kito didn't like being so transparent, especially not with Gin as his best friend. Still, telling Gin his thought process a couple minutes ago was a no-no. Using a burst of speed, Kito jumped forward and snagged the strip, ripping most of it off and eating it quickly. Kito looked up with a smug expression before giving a little squeak at the expression Gin was giving him. Whirling around, Kito took off running...not that he was going to get very far.

Argintie didn't disappoint. Jumping over their dinner, the deava took off after Kito. Shooting out a paw, he smacked Kito's flank gently, causing the smaller fox to yelp and stumble, slowing down enough for Argintie to catch him. Argintie basically sat on the normal fox and glared down at him.

"Kito...." Argintie growled, leaning closer to the blue fox. "I am not going to move until you tell me what you were going on about. And no more lies." The deava needed to know who Kito was talking about loving, and he was angry about that too.

Kito glared up at Argintie in return, though it didn't work. It never worked against the deava. Argintie just chuckled, as the stupid, high-handed thing was doing right now, as if Kito was doing something cute.

"I wasn't lying. There's a game kits play where they pull petals off flowers. Each petal either gets an 'He loves me' or a 'he loves me not'. Or she. I was just amusing myself with an image of...a fox playing that game about you." Kito groumbled. Most of that was the truth, and he was hoping Gin would drop it.

The deava jerked back a little bit in surprise. Kito was what? There was no way the blue male was trying to play matchmaker...right? Argintie tilted his head, gazing down at the smaller fox suspiciously. He leaned down further until his nose touched Kito's. "Which fox? Not That Phim. Or...the other one, the female."

Hoshika. The phim he'd had that accident with. That seemed like a reasonable excuse for Kito's random flight of fancy. Somehow the thought didn't strike quite right, however.
