Ru grumbled as she made her way over a small hill. The small cut on her shoulder just where the skeleton’s bird beak was on her pelt was bothering her. Just a day ago she had gotten into a little scrap with another lion, some big ‘tough’ guy called Nafasi, and this was one of the ending results. Sure enough, she had given the big lug of a male more markings then he could place on her, before she high tailed it out of there. Having cuts, scars and bruises on a vibrant pelt was something that wasn’t attractive, and was even harder to hide.
“Where is a healer when you need one.” She remembered many moons ago about meeting the charcoal female from the Kusini’mwezi lands who claimed to be a healer in training. Ru had wanted nothing to do with her then, but if that lioness had some kind of numbing salve to put on the wound, she would maybe reconsider that bubbly personality of the kid.
She walked until she spotted a lone tree. Having the white pelt mean it attracted the sun, and the sun was something that the lands in Africa never seemed to be without. A little shade would be nice. Getting off her feet and resting would be even nicer. It was a win-win situation.

At the base o the tree was what looked like a large rock, the dark sides mat black with strange blue mottling. Then the thing moved, revealing itself to be not a rock, but a lion's back. The massive male shifted, rolling over onto his other wide and letting long legs stretch out, the massive thick mane ruffling in what breeze trickled over the savanna. Amber eyes opened, blinked up at her, then closed again. A moment later, they reopened,settling on the approaching figure as sleep slowly faded form the colorful gaze.
After a moment, the lion lifted his head and gave a great yawn, white fangs glistening in the sunlight before he settled back down, watching her as she walked closer, remaining oddly silent and still.
