Sin
Earl of Sin, Vassal of Damnation the Fourth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Manifestation
Sin is an incarnation of the god Allah, trapped in a decaying mortal shell. His own deific power is much weakened by the form he inhabits, a mobile human skeleton decades old and devoid of flesh. While he has all the physical strength he could normally bring to bear, his bones break easily and his defense suffers for this.

99 Names of Allah
By speaking one of the 99 Names of Allah, his patron deity and the being who is incarnate in his flesh, Sin can cause one of 99 different effects to manifest, each dependent upon the Name he speaks.

Each Name's effect is as follows:

Ar-Raḥmān
Creates a weak barrier in front of the speaker that blocks a single frontal attack, which must have been initiated at the time of speaking. Only affects the single attack, all others are ignored, only functions on Shikai-level or lower abilities. Usable once every 10 posts.
Ar-Raḥīm
Targets one opponent within aural range, opponent must hear the speaking. The opponent is rendered unkillable, though not invincible, in regards to the speaker and the speaker's allies. This effect stops only the termination of life. The opponent may still be reduced to a quivering pile of meat, though they will continue to live. Effect does not expire, usable once per twenty posts and only once per target.
Al-Malik
Animates a targeted corpse for two posts, corpse can move at normal speed for a physically fit human and will act to protect the speaker by means of bodily shielding. Usable once per ten posts.
Al-Quddūs
Heals all wounds currently borne by the speaker. Usable once per fifty posts.
As-Salām
Effective for three posts. All violence within aural range may still be perpetrated, but its effects are neutralized. Swords do not cut, maces do not crush, fire does not burn, etc. Usable once per twenty-five posts.
Al-Mu'min
Gives the speaker an inherent truth-sense in relation to the next statement spoken by anyone within aural range.
Al-Muhaymin
Protects the speaker from all attacks initiated until their next post, provided they are not of Shikai-level or higher. Usable once per sixty posts. Unable to use if a Name has been spoken in the last three posts.
Al-‘Azīz
Protects the speaker from all attacks originating from outside their range of vision for three posts, or until they are hit from the front. Usable once per twenty posts.
Al-Jabbār
The speaker's opponent feels a strong (but not irresistible) urge to avoid striking the speaker. Lasts for three posts or until the target strikes the speaker. Usable once per post.
Al-Mutakabbir
Levitates the speaker to a height of their choosing. Levitation occurs at walking speed and is purely vertical in nature. Usable once per post.
Al-Khāliq
Spawns any mundane weapon the speaker focuses on while reciting the Name. The speaker is able to use this weapon with the proficiency of a skilled fighter. Usable once per battle.
Al-Bāri'
Negates any attempt to knock the speaker down until their next post. Usable once per fifteen posts.
Al-Muṣawwir
Polymorphs the speaker or a target into an object or form the speaker focuses on over a period of three posts, negated if the speaker or target move at all during the process. Usable once per five hundred posts.
Al-Ghaffār
Negates any effects of the last attack that connected with the speaker, provided the attack left no physical wounds. Usable once per thirty posts.
Al-Qahhār
Paralyzes all listeners including the speaker from the waist down. Lasts for three posts, usable once per thirty posts.
Al-Wahhāb
Inflicts the target with a disease or affliction of the speaker's choice, limited to nonlethal diseases, functions only against significantly weaker opponents (3rd Seat or lower,, Numeros or weaker, etc.). Usable once per five posts. Diseases bestowed have no immediate negative effects.
Ar-Razzāq
Creates an orb of energy that, when consumed, provides the speaker (and the speaker only) with the equivalent of a day's worth of nourishment. Usable once per IC day.
Al-Fattāḥ
Unlocks any mundane lock and removes any non-Kido barrier. Usable once per post.
Al-'Alīm
Answers any one question the speaker asks aloud in the next post. Usable once per post, only outside of combat. Does not function in relation to the thoughts of sentient beings, does not function in relation to the current location of beings more than five miles away.
Al-Qābiḍ
Stops the target from moving from their current location but also protects them from all attacks regardless of origin. Lasts for five posts, usable once per five posts.
Al-Bāsiṭ
Changes the speaker's size, cannot be used to grow or shrink beyond the normal size range of an adult human male. Weight is unchanged. Speaker cannot move or react due to disorientation for one post, usable once every other post.
Al-Khāfiḍ
Increases the gravity for all listeners including the speaker. Gravity is increased by 175% (enough to be uncomfortable and to slow movement, but not so much as to cause harm) for five posts. Usable once per twenty posts.
Ar-Rāfi'
Weakens gravity for all listeners including the speaker. Gravity is decreased by 75% for five posts. Usable once per twenty posts.
Al-Mu'izz
Creates an aural-range area of objective directional gravity centered on the speaker (everyone falls towards them) which lasts for five posts. Usable once per fifteen posts.
Al-Mudhill
Creates an aural-range area of objective directional antigravity centered on the speaker (everyone falls away from them) which lasts for five posts. Usable once per fifteen posts.
As-Samī'
Doubles the aural range of the next Name's effect. Usable once per post, usable at the same time as any other Name.
Al-Baṣīr
A reflective surface in front of the speaker shows a silent display of any person the speaker is concentrating on. Only the targeted individual is shown, as well as their surroundings. Other persons are not shown. Usable once per post, not usable while in combat.
Al-Ḥakam
Fighters within aural range who have defected from an organization since joining the Guild (or who defected somewhere in their backstory or bio) are doubly affected by the next Name. Usable once per battle, targets all opponents within aural range.
Al-'Adl
Fighters within aural range who are aggressive attackers (anyone who attacked before they were themselves attacked) are struck deaf for five posts except in relation to spoken Names. Defensive fighters (regardless of relation to the speaker, those who were attacked before they attacked someone else) are unaffected by any Name for the same span. Usable once per battle.
Al-Laṭīf
All listeners become incapable of dealing lethal damage to any living being (for the purposes of this ability, Sin and the Incarnates count as undead and are not affected). Usable once per thousand posts, permanent effect.
Al-Khabīr
The speaker's vision expands to cover 360 degrees (or focuses to the normal field of vision if already active). Usable once per post, lasts until repeated.
Al-Ḥalīm
Any one wound of the target's choice is cured. Usable once per target per ten posts, does not function on the speaker or any Incarnates. Usable once per post.
Al-'Aẓīm
The speaker assumes an illusory form that appears as the most impressive or awe-imspiring humanoid that each individual listener can conceptualize. Listeners are marginally more likely to listen to suggestions the speaker makes as a result of this awe, but are under no supernatural compulsion to do so. Usable once per post.
Al-Ghaffūr
The speaker is cured of all long-term ailments, including supernatural or combat-oriented poisons, diseases, microbes, and malicious Kido and Bakudo. Usable once per fifty posts.
Ash-Shakūr
The target becomes incapable of moving from the waist down and collapses to his or her knees. Effect lasts for one post, acts as a compulsion rather than a physical effect. Usable once per target per five posts.
Al-'Alīy
Reverses the effect of gravity upon the target and immediately increases the intensity of the newly-modified gravitational force by 2500%. Usable once per fifty posts.
Al-Kabīr
The target will perform the next instruction given to it by the speaker to the best of its ability, regardless of normal proclivities or personal risk. Usable once per thousand posts, does not affect opponents of Lieutenant/Numeros Rank or higher.
Al-Ḥafīẓ
Perfectly and permanently preserves one targeted corpse, which cannot be used to make an Incarnate. Usable once per post.
Al-Muqīt
Changes the consistency and nutrient content of the flesh of one fresh human, shinigami, or Arrancar corpse so that one kilogram of flesh will provide nourishment for one week to the consumer and will last one month before spoiling. Usable once per post.
Al-Ḥasīb
Spawns a 150 kg sphere of lead travelling at roughly 90 kph towards the target. Usable once per five posts.
Al-Jalīl
Heals all bodily wounds a newly-created Incarnate received before its host body originally perished. Usable once per Incarnation.
42 الكريم Al-Karīm
Allows the speaker to increase the growth rate of any living plant material they touch by 10'/minute, or to cause dead plants to return to life for five posts. Growth continues for up to twenty posts, usable once per fifteen posts on any plant not already affected, usable once per seven posts on already-targeted plant matter.
Ar-Raqīb
Sets a scrying sphere in the spatial position currently occupied by the speaker's left eye or left eye socket. The sphere is incorporeal and incapable of being damaged, and appears as a well-defined area filled with swirling yellow-green gases. The speaker may use any spheres they currently maintain to see through in lieu of their left eye, but can only utilize once at a time. Usable once per post, only five may be maintained at once.
Al-Mujīb
Forces the target to answer the next question as truthfully as they can, provided the answering would not lead them into immediate or lethal circumstances if heard by others present. Usable once per twenty posts.
Al-Wāsi'
The speaker gains immediate and intimate knowledge of the fears and emotional insecurities of all living beings within five miles of itself or any Incarnate. This knowledge does not grant the speaker any special skill with utilizing the information given. Usable once per fifty posts.
Al-Ḥakīm
The speaker gains knowledge of the powers and abilities possessed by the listener, instantly and with perfect clarity. This does not confer any of the abilities on the speaker, only the knowledge that they exist and whatever knowledge the listener possesses as to their functionality. Usable once per ten posts.
Al-Wadūd
Two listeners of opposite genders are attracted to each other in a magnetic fashion for thirty posts. Usable once per twenty posts, but not on any listeners already affected in such a manner.
Al-Majīd
A random orchestral piece begins playing from thin air. The piece is appropriate to the current situation. Usable once per post, provided there is not already active BGM.
Al-Bā'ith
A corpse already prepared with other Names is revived as an Incarnate. Usable once per thirty posts, only on a corpse that is without wounds, desanguinated, and without poison or disease.
Ash-Shahīd
A single event is recorded indelibly in the memories of all listeners. This event may be from the past, currently occurring, or a probable event that may or may not ever occur. Usable once per six months IRL.
Al-Ḥaqq
The speaker's spiritual disguise is removed, revealing them as a Vassal of Damnation and Avatar of Allah. Usable only with unanimous Crew approval and preapproved plotline go-ahead.
Al-Wakīl
A single target other than the speaker or an Incarnate is strengthened in their convictions, becoming less likely to flee out of terror. Usable once per five posts.
Al-Qawwīy
The speaker's muscular power (or other form of strength) is boosted by 500% for two posts. Usable once per ten posts.
Al-Matīn
All attacks against the speaker automatically fail regardless of power until their next post. Usable once per fifty posts.
Al-Walīy
The speaker is garbed in the guise of a Shinigami by the name of Izumi Tanto until the Name of Al-Haqq is spoken. While in this guise the speaker is treated as a separate character with no Vassal-related powers other than the Name of Al-Haqq, which requires unanimous Crew approval to speak. Usable at the conclusion of a plotline.

7 Sins Incarnate
By maintaining physical contact with a fresh corpse for at least 5 posts, Sin can cause that corpse to become the vessel for one-seventh of his being, one of the Seven Sins incarnate in flesh. These Vassals of Damnation the Fifth are under Sin's utter control, and while they have free will he can compel their absolute obedience and destroy them with a thought. Each can match a Captain-rank Shinigami or mid-rank Espada for power. The Seven are named Invidia (envy), Gula (Gluttony), Superbia (Pride), Avaritia (Greed), Luxuria (Lust), Ira (Wrath), and Acedia (Sloth). Each one controls emotions and elements as per their name.

With just what I see as of now, I have to be completely honest and say that I would absolutely never allow a profile like this into TSRT, let alone even as a plot character.

This is not to say that it couldn't be a plot character, but to do with how little there is on description of the character and the character's powers. I expect full description of Physical Appearance, Personality, Powers, and Biography for the character. Considering that there is the possibility of a large number of powers...I have to say no.

Now, I did speak to Mirouni over what you and him discussed in private about Sin. With what I was told, I can't say I would allow the character after that description either. Personally, I don't think it was a very polite move to try and work in a plot character, especially one that you said was an "Aizen like" character, in this open invitation to have a at least partially developed character excepted into TSRT. It's almost offensive to me. I don't believe you intended it that way, but that's how I frankly feel.

I would highly suggest using a different profile for this process, that is if you have another profile you'd like to transfer over. I know that you in particular don't like using Shinigami, and we do need more Arrancar, Quincy and Human characters. If you have anyone of these characters, I'd be more then willing to go over it with you on this.

Also, I'd like to apologize if I seem gruff here. But, I can't in good conscious let this character enter TSRT with the assumption that it would be allowed to have full powers as they are descripted and understood above.

Oh, before I forget. Plot characters for TSRT are usually only allowed a certain amount of time to be used. This is to prevent bypassing rules on gaining power and godmodding, and makes sure that the character is killed or simply disappears and cannot be used again. Hence the plot terminology. Again, I'm sorry if this seems gruff, but plot characters can't be used as an excuse to have extreme powers that you wouldn't typically have should you develop a character through normal means.

I have to agree with her on this one. I think that without a great deal of explanation, this profile would not pass muster for a plot. It is one thing to have a very powerful character, and quite another to have a powerful character with undefined powers. With this profile written as it is, we come across the problem of there being 99 attacks of indeterminate power, range, element, longevity, etc., and I can only assume that the character would be played in such a way that any attack that might be needed to counteract an opponent would be selected, in essence making him unbeatable in that regard.

The second problem is one of specificity and scope. This character can, if touching a fresh corpse for 5 posts, create a captain class character. This can presumably be done on NPCs in order to give a replenishing supply of these 7 captain class characters. These captain class characters do not have specific moves or any description of any kind that would indicate how powerful or otherwise useful they are.

Were this character going to be used for a plot, there would need to be a great deal more detailing in the capabilities of it. While I'm not aware of the specifics you discussed with others, from what I can see here, I have to say no.

This is what I could recall from my previous profile in BSS, I intend to expand upon the Incarnates and the Names when I get a moment. I've got a list of the Names and their effects on my computer.

As for Fefnir's concern, only one Name can be used per post and only deceased Player Characters will ever be used for the Incarnates (which I'll be handing over to the original players for the purposes of roleplaying. So Character A who gets turned into Invidia will still be roleplayed by the original user of Character A).

I intend to expand this profile when I get a moment, specifically adding the heavy limitations I originally intended to work with in BSS (including a limit on Names-per-post, the hearing-range limit on all effects, and Sin's inability to initiate hostilities via any means.)

@Wicked: I know this probably won't go through, this is just the way it was in BSS when I was one of the only active people and it was created for a Guild-crushing plot so we could reboot. I'm willing to edit anything and everything (except the ability to use the Names in the first place, though their effects I'll readily change.)

To clarify: Each Name has a single instantaneous effect, mostly environmental or user-focused (such as healing a single wound of minor scope or instantaneous movement), save for a few that affect gravity or temporal stability. Most of them are very weak and only really gain significant power through the use of At-Tawwāb, The Ever-Returning. Each Incarnate has power over one sense or emotion (for example, Invidia can cause temporary paraplegia in his/her victims, giving them a ground-level perspective on the world (thus, Invidia/Envy as a perception of others being above you). Sin and the Incarnates have no skill with weapons save those summoned via one of the Names (which only Sin can speak), and without a Name-weapon will always fight bare-handed.

Alright then, I can offer a more thorough look once you've made your edits and suchlike. C=

Remember to be very detailed in just what capabilities you have, because I'm seeing some red flags here and there, especially regarding things like temporal stability. If it's balanced properly, we can work with it, and if it's detailed, we can work with it, but it's definitely going to need to be worked on carefully.

I have included a partially-recovered record of the Names from a computer-burp on Sunday. Had this tiny mishap not happened (wiping out a third of my documents in the process) I would be able to include all the effects. As it is I have to copypasta the rest of the list of Wikipedia and promise to get the rest of the effects added as soon as possible.

Okays, it's gonna take me a while to go through all of those names. However, I really am going to press you over this profile and if I don't get the results I'd like to see... I'm not going to let it through.

I just thought I'd let you know in a straight forward manner. Just give me tonight and tomorrow and go over it.

Hello from one deep-reader and profile-rapist to another ^^

But in all seriousness, I expect nitpicky review, since I'd do it myself. Anything less on such an iffy character would leave me almost offended.

Like I said before, this is a plot character...that we don't have a plot for and may never have.

I really don't like that the character is a literal incarnation of a known deity. That's something that I really can't seem to bring myself to look past. God immediately assumes Godmod, at least in my opinion.

After going through the list of powers...I ended up taking out the superfluous and those that can be considered auto-hits, auto-dodges and overpowered. That did include almost everything that had to do with the seven deadly sin incarnations that he can produce.

Anyway, here they are:

Ar-Raḥmān
Creates a weak barrier in front of the speaker that blocks a single frontal attack, which must have been initiated at the time of speaking. Only affects the single attack, all others are ignored, only functions on Shikai-level or lower abilities. Usable once every 10 posts.

Al-Malik
Animates a targeted corpse for two posts, corpse can move at normal speed for a physically fit human and will act to protect the speaker by means of bodily shielding. Usable once per ten posts.

As-Salām
Effective for three posts. All violence within aural range may still be perpetrated, but its effects are neutralized. Swords do not cut, maces do not crush, fire does not burn, etc. Usable once per twenty-five posts.

Al-Muhaymin
Protects the speaker from all attacks initiated until their next post, provided they are not of Shikai-level or higher. Usable once per sixty posts. Unable to use if a Name has been spoken in the last three posts.

Al-Ghaffār
Negates any effects of the last attack that connected with the speaker, provided the attack left no physical wounds. Usable once per thirty posts.

Ar-Razzāq
Creates an orb of energy that, when consumed, provides the speaker (and the speaker only) with the equivalent of a day's worth of nourishment. Usable once per IC day.

Al-Bāsiṭ
Changes the speaker's size, cannot be used to grow or shrink beyond the normal size range of an adult human male. Weight is unchanged. Speaker cannot move or react due to disorientation for one post, usable once every other post.

Al-Baṣīr
A reflective surface in front of the speaker shows a silent display of any person the speaker is concentrating on. Only the targeted individual is shown, as well as their surroundings. Other persons are not shown. Usable once per post, not usable while in combat.

Al-Khabīr
The speaker's vision expands to cover 360 degrees (or focuses to the normal field of vision if already active). Usable once per post, lasts until repeated.

Al-Ḥasīb
Spawns a 150 kg sphere of lead travelling at roughly 90 kph towards the target. Usable once per five posts.

(So long as he isn’t manipulating the plants in anyway)

Al-Majīd
A random orchestral piece begins playing from thin air. The piece is appropriate to the current situation. Usable once per post, provided there is not already active BGM.

I'm sorry, but there were a lot of red flags within these abilities...and after taking into consideration that these are spoken to cause the effect...that determined much on which I removed. Past that...I'd love to see this profile put into the format of the profiles found in TSRT. The WHAT TO EXPECT announcement has a link if you'd be interested.

(So long as he isn’t manipulating the plants in anyway)

Al-Majīd
A random orchestral piece begins playing from thin air. The piece is appropriate to the current situation. Usable once per post, provided there is not already active BGM.

Are those names above the ones I can keep or the ones I need to kill? Because if you want the removal I'll just have to tone them down. The whole concept of the power is that every Name has power, no matter how minor.

Yes, Sin is the incarnation of Allah... in a moldy, ancient, crinkling skeleton that can't even bring to bear the increased strength most Shinigami and Arrancar display. He can use the Names, but since his body isn't whole and never will be (since flesh-regenerating Names only function on other corpses) he can only bring to bear a fraction of the power that the Names really have.

As I was sitting next to her when she made the list, I can answer that for you. Those are the only names you would be allowed to keep.

To be frank here, there is no way in any conceivable universe that I would consider approving a character that was an incarnation of any god, no matter how frail and weak, as a character. Wicked said as much earlier, and that is a portion of this profile that is not up for debate. No god incarnations.

However, like Wicked said.. it's a fun idea. Remove the incarnation bit, try to find a way for the power to make sense beyond that, and make it completely non-god-mod, and it MIGHT work. It would be hard as hell to play though.. you'd be better off going simple on it.

Okay, then.

While I'd love to continue this conversation at length, an unexpected circumstance has come into effect in my personal life, and I don't have nearly enough time to devote to this character now. I'll be back eventually, but I'd like to table this character for the foreseeable future.
