Alvaak’s zanpakuto is named Kotetsu Rapier (Blood Princess), and is one of the very few female zanpakuto. In it's shika form it looks like a regular zanpakuto but it's not. When sheathed, Kotetsu appears as a thin blade. She has a seal on the end of the sheath which allows Alvaak to forcefully make new subsitute go into his Shinigami form - which is something everyone hates because it hurts.When unsheathed, the round part at the top becomes the sword’s hilt. And when kotetsu goes into Shikai form (Initial release), she no longer resembles the same shape. Her hilt becomes elaborately designed with a golden chain and a red tassel. Moslty, blood starts to drip out of it.
