"To show our appreciation of you supporting Starcraft 2 since launch we're giving you a free 30-day subscription to World of Warcraft."
THANKS, BLIZZARD!
Never mind the fact I think only losers play WoW. Give me access to the Diablo 3 beta, then I'll feel appreciated. xp

They are really trying hard to make us play that game, even though I'm fairly certain everyone that wants to play WoW already does, so what is the point in trying to recruit others?

The game is like, HOW old?! If I planned on playing it, I would have already.

I'm fairly certain with the dawn of new, stylish, and refined MMOs on the way, WoW will soon be on it's last breathe.

Me, I'm personally waiting for Guild Wars 2 and The Old Republic, I will probably give both a shot, but stick with only the best one. It's been a few years since I got to play an MMO (FF14 doesn't count, I was only in the BETA and it sucked a**) so I'm excited to get one going soon, I'm almost tempted to pick up DC Universe until then.

Name one MMO like this... no new MMO can compete with WoW. WoW will remain dominant until blizzard's next mmo, nobody can touch the level of polish+depth Blizz has put into the game. new MMOs basically just try to cater to a particular niche, 100,000 subs is what new MMOs aim for (ie that new Star Wars one). meanwhile WoW has... 13m+

i actually play wow, and while mmos are for newbs, it's a good game. that said, sc2>>>>>>*

You can't name one because they're still in development. stare

you can't name... upcoming titles... but you can... cite them with such strength to say they will make WoW be on its last breath?

logic much?

To name one before it has been released would be irresponsible. For instance, I was expecting something else from [Prototype]. The game as it is is great, but I thought it would be different when I read the pre-release reviews.

The Old Republic has the potential to take over as a major MMO.

Why?

It's made by an excellent company with a passion for making amazing games, similar to Blizzard.

It is made with a massive fan base even long before the game's release, Star Wars being one of the biggest sci-fi franchises in the world.

The graphics blow away WoW's outdated technology.

Professional voice acting, a wide exploitable universe, a new level of freedom, an excellent story and a music score that only Lucas Arts can deliver.

Also, people are beginning to get bored with WoW, they are running out of things to do, cataclysm will help give the game a little bit more life, but as I understand it, it doesn't take long at all to reach the new max level, and the difficulty of that game has always been....terribly mind numbingly easy.

Guild Wars 2 is also looking AMAZING. With a new level of customization, a constant changing and open world, gorgeous environments and graphics, and it will be the only MMO of it's quality without a subscription fee.

Of course nothing can be said for sure until the games reach the end of their development, but with these two games specifically with such great promise, WoW can only keep going for so long until it becomes obsolete.

WoW is fun for those that enjoy it. I get bored with it unless I have someone to do runs withs, or a guild. Guilds hardly accepted me because I didn't have any rep, and I couldn't get rep because I wasn't in a guild.

It's a broken system, like trying to find a first job. Everyone wants someone with experience, but no one is willing to hire someone without any to get them started.

I had fun in vanilla, then I lost my guildies. I re-rolled on other servers with other friends who left for something else. Trying to solo my way up got boring, and the only time I really had fun was when I actually found a guild and was doing runs with them daily. Then the whole guild pretty much disappeared overnight. It was mind blowing and depressing.

I tried playing again with cata, but got bored before I could find a guild trying to re-roll with friends who left me.

Anyways.
Guild wars 2 looks awesome
Eve Online is like an EX to me, I always want to go back, but when I do it just isn't the same and something feels missing.
Rift looks cool, but idk if I'm going to play.
I wish WAR didn't suck.

Damn, if I didn't work ten hour days and half of my weekends, I'd be really looking forward to all these MMOs you guys are talking about... *Sadface*
