Mordred: *Brooding in the snowed over meadow.*

Alaric: *ambles through the snow contentedly, not at all bothered thanks to his FLUFF* ...! *spots a strangely familiar-looking herla and pauses, thoughtful and now on alert, before deciding to trot over and investigate* Hello there. *gives Mordred a small smile, acting amiable though his pupiless eyes are totally scanning him, assessing the DANGER of this troublesome-looking herla*

Mordred: *Comes out of a slight sleepy daze, all warm with his furry fuzz in the snow.* Hello. *Bows his head slightly in respect, the chains on his antlers chiming.*

Alaric: *narrows his eyes at them big ol' antlers, actually somewhat surprised by this hart's so far CIVIL behavior* Allow me to introduce myself, I am Alaric. Are you, perhaps... new here? *oh man deja vu, he wants to just go right out and ask but, no, he's already prodding enough!*

Mordred: *Stands up when the other herla begins introductions, shakes off the snow from his fur, and holds his antlers high in a intimidating but not threatening manner.* It is nice to meet you, Alaric. I am Mordred, and yes. I am new here. *Srs face is srs and not impressed by his tiny little horn.*

Alaric: *when Mordred stands to his full height, Alaric shifts also, standing more proudly now as he looks the other hart in the eye, showing no fear... jeez is this another subtle man-duel?* Mordred, a pleasure to meet you. *sounds a bit serious himself now* If I may ask, did you come alone? *as Alaric studies Mordred, all he can think of is that other hart he met.. Arius was it? what is with these new bucks and their imposing presences?!*

Mordred: *Nearly breaks his stone state to scowl at the thought of his brother.* No. I did not. I came here along with my.. brother, Arius. I assume from you questioning that you have already met him. *Frowns.* He and I are completely and utterly different.

Alaric: *aha! that got a bit of a rise out of him. Alaric is satisfied that his suspicions have been confirmed, though he feels somewhat dismayed that Mordred guessed correctly too, on the whole reason why he was questioning. smiles guiltily* Yes, I have met him. He was... pleasant. *his smile also drops into a frown now, as he thinks back to the encounter... that buck was totally trying to challenge him! but he discards the memory, eyes tracing over Mordred's scars; at least this one seems more respectful, though Alaric is still wary by his looks* You two certainly look like opposites... *his curiosity is piqued, is that animosity he senses? oh to pry or not to pry who knew Al could be so nosy*

Mordred: My brother.. Pleasant. You might be mistaking another herla for him then. *Focuses an are-you-all-right-in-the-head stare at Alaric.* We look exactly alike save for a few broken antlers of mine and that damned jewel of his. *The whole dark and light thing, he has never seem to notice.* It is a shame that I share a resemblance to him. But I should not speak ill of family. Please, forget what I have said.

Alaric: *would be TERRIBLY INSULTED by that stare if he wasn't so amused, sure Arius gave him some bad vibes, but he was soundly beat, he probably won't be a problem any more psh. although Alaric felt his mood strangely elevating a bit, he sobers quickly at Mordred's request, looking away* Yes... Of course. *gives a short nod, distant as he thinks of his own brother now, who he hasn't seen in so long, wondering if this is how Hellion feels about him... Alaric is silent for a long moment, then, realizing his place, looks back at Mordred sheepishly, trying to keep a light tone though he suddenly feels very, very weary* Well, I hope you enjoy living in the Hartlands. *bluh he's just not feelin' it now*

Mordred: *Does not mind the silence what so ever, just watches Alaric, quietly sizing him up and taking note of his body, temperament, stance, anything and everything that could be useful. Habits die hard.* Indeed, herla here have been much more inviting and helpful than I have known of before. *Ponders if Alaric's words were a statement or a goodbye. Takes this as the later and settles himself back down in the snow, but keep watch on the other male. And by no means is making a point about how unimposing the other herla is. Nope.*

Alaric: *feels pride for his FELLOW CITIZENS being so welcoming* I am happy to hear that. And of course, I am always willing to help if you need it. *doubts this obviously rugged herla ever would, and immediately feels silly for saying so, but hey this buck isn't so bad after all... Alaric surprises himself with that thought, but it's true. for how, okay maybe sort of kinda intimidating if you squint Mordred looks, he was actually enjoyable company. as the other buck settles again, Alaric can't help but smile, oddly amused again. apparently, Mordred doesn't think of him as a threat, either. if this was a subtle man-duel, and he hopes it wasn't, Mordred would have won. AH WELL, Alaric moves to leave* Farewell, Mordred. May we meet again.

Mordred: *bows his head in respect at the mention of help. It's a hard thing for him to ask for, but it is nice to know that he now has herla he can rely on for information.* I thank you. Good day to you, Alaric. *Closes his glowing red eyes and relaxes into a light sleep.*

Never judge a book by its cover! :D
