It was Devi's first Valentine's Day where she actually had someone to share it with. She had been back with Damian for a few weeks now - or longer. Due to the dual identities, it was rather confusing when she started dating Damian again, and if her time with Orion counted. However, she figured it would be best to figure it out before it came time to celebrate an anniversary.
She was excited for her Valentine's Day with Damian. He invited her to his apartment for dinner, which she preferred than to going out somewhere fancy. However, Devi did do her best to dress nicely, she even wore make up and heeled shoes for the occasion. She wore a short, tight red dress that showed off what curves she had. She had a very average figure, but she thought it would be nice to dress this way for the night, even though its far from her normal style.
She hoped it would make a good "present" for Damian.
She also hoped that he wouldn't expect her to "unwrap it."
She knocked on the door with nervous excitement and smiled, praying that she didn't have any red lipstick on her teeth.

She didn't have any lipstick on her teeth. Not that Damian would've have noticed even if she had. He was too busy letting his eyes skim over the rest of her. He had to wonder if this was some kind of trap, like when she had tricked him into admitting he was Sailor Orion.
His eyes jumped from her legs, to her butt, to her cleavage unsure of where to look first. That was until he realized he was being a pervert and made himself just look at her face. Grinning he took her hand, leading into the apartment, shutting the door behind them. "You look great," Leaning down he kissed her cheek, and then let go of her hand. "Dinner's almost ready, if you wanna sit."
It was amazing that the redhead had managed to keep his clothes (a deep green silk dress shirt, and black slacks) clean while cooking the Chicken Marsala. It became much less amazing when he put an apron on as he stepped into the kitchen. The redhead was moving slowly as if his ribs were paining him, which they were. Even as a senshi cracked ribs took more than a couple days to heal. "So, how was your day?"

"My day has been good," she said with a slight shrug as she entered the apartment and tossed her tiny clutch purse onto the nearest couch. There was nothing in particular to complain about her time in the daylight. Nights were another story. It had been yet another long warring night in Elysion, but she did her best to not let the events there interfere with her day-to-day activities. She tried her best not to think about it, but it was hard to ignore entirely. "It was a long night last night, though."
"How are your ribs feeling?" she asked. There wasn't much she could do to assist his wounds, but she knew it was in her girlfriend duties to be informed and do whatever she can to keep him comfortable. She was lucky to have come out of the first major battle with only a flesh wound that had already considerably healed, and did her best to avoid any further severe injury.
She took a seat at the table and then added, "Is there anything you need help with?"

Damian frowned slightly at her words, he knew what she meant. Everything was fine during the day, but at night if he wasn't being pulled into Elysion he was having nightmares about Elysion. Suffice to say he hadn't gotten a good night's sleep since the first battle for Elysion. "There seems to be a lot of those lately." He checked on the food, it was nearly ready. Moving to the cabinet he began to pull plates and glasses.
Looking back at her he shrugged slightly. "They're still sore, but the doc said it'd take a month or two for them to heal completely. I'm hoping that means a couple weeks for me." It was nice being able to talk about things that only senshi should know. He was tired of keeping secrets.
Setting the plates next to the stove, he moved over to the fridge setting down the glasses on the counter next to it. "Nope, you just sit back and relax." Opening the fridge he looked inside it. "Would you like red or white wine?" It was a mystery how he got wine, being underage and all, but he had gotten it and now was attempting to get his underage girlfriend drunk.

Devi's eyes widened. She had never really drank before, save for the Jewish holidays where her parents would let her have a glass of Manischewitz wine, and that taught her a lesson about alcohol: it tastes awful. It had been a while since then, and that was only one type of alcohol, so she figured she should try some other types.
"I'll have a white wine," Devi stated, doing her best to mask her worries. Manischewitz was a red wine, perhaps she'd like the white more. "I've been lucky to avoid any serious injuries in the battles, but I've got a couple of bruises on my a** from falls, so we'll have to be gentle."
She paused and her eyes shifted across the room, hoping to pass the awkwardness of what she said. "Is your roommate around?"

Damian didn't see his girlfriend's shocked face, his back to her as he stared into the fridge. "White it is." Reaching into the fridge he grabbed the bottle of white wine. Moving to a drawer he rummaged around inside of it for a corkscrew, finally finding one he pulled it out. Now how was he supposed to do this, again? He hadn't opened a bottle of wine in a while, he was more partial to beer. After a moment of fumbling he managed to pop the cork. The redhead filled one wine glass and then the other, before replacing the bottle back in the fridge.
Picking up the glasses he moved over to the table, setting one in front of Devi and the other in front of the seat across the table. Her words made him pause, staring down at her. They'd have to be gentle? During what? After a moment he just laughed, shaking his head slightly. His Devi was an odd one. "We'll be very gentle." Grinning he leaned down kissing her cheek. When she asked about Carter he shook his head. "He's out doing something or other, we've got the place to ourselves." He couldn't resist the urge to wink at her before he moved back into the kitchen.
Taking his apron off he hung it back up on the hook. Silver eyes examined their dinner and after a moment he deemed it was ready. Picking the pan up he plated them both medium sized portions, turning the stove top to low to keep the rest of the food warm. Grabbing both plates he set one in front of Devi, and carried the other to his seat setting it down before he sat down himself. "I hope you like it, I followed the recipe and all, but I'm not the greatest cook." He smiled sheepishly, waiting for her to take a bite to see her reaction before he started eating.

While Damian was finishing up with the food, Devi took a sip of the glass of wine before her. As she lifted it to her face, her nose cringed at the sharp smell of the wine's alcohol. She took a tiny sip and swallowed. It was far better than the last wine she had tried. In fact, it was quite good, but in many ways she would be just as happy drinking a soda. Nonetheless, she took another sip, this time a bit larger as Damian set down the food.
She cautiously took a bite of the food. She was worried about his cooking, the good girlfriend she is, she had set the bar pretty low for Damian's talents in the kitchen. But after one bite of the chicken marsala, she found herself pleasantly surprised. Her delight shone through her normally deadpanned face. Initially, she found herself trying to hide her reaction, but she gave in, feeling more than comfortable enough to show her emotions around Damian. He was a rare exception.
"Its very good," she said. She then continued and perhaps went a little far. "I was expecting it to be bad, but its really tasty. I don't think it could be in a restaurant, but you are a better cook than I am." Compliments really weren't her thing.
"The wine is very good, too," she said as she took another sip of the wine, an even bigger sip than before.

Damian was staring intently at his girlfriend, if he kept it up for much longer it would start bordering on creepy. It was worth it though, his effort to cook for her was rewarded with a look of delight that he had never seen so plainly on her face before. He was used to Devi hiding her emotions, and to get a flash of them made him grin.
He couldn't help but laugh at her compliment, it was a bit backward. "Well, I'm glad it's better than you thought it would be." He smiled at her across the table, and then lifted his fork taking the first bite of his own food. Well, he even managed to surprise himself. The chicken marsala actually wasn't half bad.
Lifting his glass he sipped his wine, watching his girlfriend from over the rim of the glass. He pondered warning her to take it easy on the wine, but let it go. He'd take care of if she got drunk, it wasn't like she could get in much trouble since they were both staying in. "The guy I got it from said it was a good year." He really had no idea about wine, he just trusted what he had been told.
For a moment he ate silently, savouring the food. He had skipped lunch to go to grocery store and get supplies for dinner so this was his first meal in a while. Once he felt like he was no longer starving he glanced up at her. "So, how's school?" It wasn't the most exciting question, but he was a bit nervous and it was the best he could come up with.

"School is uh," she had practically forgotten about her classes. She had been going to school, but sleeping through most of her classes and was quickly falling behind on her work. Even if it weren't for Elysion, she only had a few months left so senioritis had kicked in pretty strong. "Its okay, I guess. Excited for it to be over with. Haven't been paying too much attention to it."
She shoved a few more forkfuls of the chicken marsala into her mouth and took another large sip or two of the wine. The inexperienced drinker that she is, she already felt a light tingle sensation in her nose.
"How's the music stuff been going?" she asked. She was pretty clueless about music in general, but was trying to do her best to follow it and keep up with Damian. There were some topics she had been doing her best to avoid, like Orion's teammate Merope.

Excited for it to be over. Yup, that was pretty much the standard when it came to school. He remembered being a senior, not that he was actually in school much by the end of the year. It had amazed pretty much everyone when he managed to get enough credits to walk with the rest of his class come graduation. ”Yeah, I know the feeling.”
A forkful of chicken was lifted to his lips and he chewed on slowly, gazing across the table at his girlfriend. He contemplated telling her to take it a little easy on the wine, but decided against it. It wasn’t like he was going to take advantage her, she should be able to let go some. Reaching out he lifted his own glass, taking a sip.
Ah, the music stuff. Damian shrugged a bit. ”Eh, it’s hard. I’ve been writing a lot, but half the songs I come up with are crap. It doesn’t help that the band really isn’t too together at the moment.” Being a musician was a lot harder than he had thought it would be. It wasn’t just getting gigs, and screaming fans and instant fame. It was writing songs, trying to get the band together for practice, begging for a chance at a gig…really it kinda sucked. But Damian was in it for the music, and he wasn’t going to give up just because it was hard.
He pushed his food around on his plate for a moment racking his brain for something to say. He didn’t just want to sit in an awkward silence the entire time. ”Anything interesting happen lately? Other than you know, the whole dream warfare thing.” Yeah, Damian really sucked at small talk.

Devi looked up from her food. Anything interesting? In the life of Devorah Gellner? Puh-leeze.
Of course there isn't anything interesting.
That is, of course, unless you count that every night there was a dream warfare raging on that she participated in as her super-powered alter-ego. Or that she worked and trained furiously as a cadet of the fierce Blood Moon Court, eager to obtain full membership one day. But none of those things were particularly interesting to her, they were simply events that was happening in her life. Why would anyone else be interested in that?
"No," she shrugged. "Not really. When we're not in Elysion, I'm mostly just trying to stay awake and prepare myself for what happens when we are in Elysion. And juggle schoolwork on top of that, and college applications and dealing with my parents and..." She was boring herself. "That's pretty much it."
She stabbed her fork through several bites of food and shoved it all in at once. With her mouth full of food, she continued on. "I'd love to hear something you wrote. Maybe I can help with your music?" Her mouth still full, she took another large swig of the wine and emptied the glass. She wasn't sure if she was supposed to drink it as quickly as it did, but it tasted like grape juice to her.
"More please," she said once she had finally swallowed her food, wiggling the glass in her hands with a fake but beaming smile.

Damian nodded along as she spoke, he remembered school and having to deal with his step-mother. One thing he didn't remember was college applications, he had never filled one out. He knew college wasn't in the cards for him, he had barely made it through high school. Without some kind of major kick he didn't see himself going back to school.
Another forkful of food was brought to his mouth and he chewed thoughtfully, watching her eat. He couldn't help but be amused by her talking with her mouth full, he was surprised none of it fell out of her mouth. When he realized she was asking about his music he shrugged a bit, "Eh, I don't have anything to good yet. But I'll write us a duet, you can play the tambourine." He grinned, sipping his wine.
He was only half done with his own glass when she was asking for more. Laughing he stood up. "You can have as much you want." Reaching out he took her glass and moved into the kitchen, filling the wine glass once more. Moving back to the table he set the glass in front of her then sat down.
"Oh, there's dessert too. So, just let me know when you want that." The redhead smiled across the table at his girlfriend. It was nice, being able to sit and enjoy time together without Negas attacking or one of them falling into a coma.

Devi took a large sip of the wine glass and followed it with another forkful of food. Dessert sounded great, but she wondered if rushing through dinner to move on to dessert would be unladylike or unsexy for a date. She figured that it probably would be. She also figured that she didn't really care. She took another large forkful and shoved it in her mouth, chasing it with another sip of wine. With her mouth full again, she spoke some more becoming a theme of the evening, "I could go for some dessert."
She swallowed the last bites of her dinner and smiled. Her nose felt funny and kind of fuzzy, a little tingle like it was asleep. The alcohol must have been kicking in already. She was a lightweight amateur, so it didn't take very much. "I'm not a musical person, but I'd love to hear what you have written so far. After all, I do believe you owe me a serenade."
She recalled a promise Damian had made her on their very first meeting that always was postponed due to some reason or another, like a monster attack or falling into a coma. Or something else that is totally normal.

Damian wasn't taking as big of bites as his girlfriend, but he was making pretty quick work of his own food. He didn't seem to notice just how quickly she was eating her food, or he did notice but he was being polite enough not to say anything. But when she spoke with her mouth full again he couldn't help but laugh. "Sure, just let me take that plate for you." Standing up he reached over picking up her empty plate. Pausing he glanced down at his own, it wasn't completely cleared, but he wasn't particularly hungry so he picked up his own plate as well.
Moving into the kitchen he washed the plates off then put them both into the dishwater along with their forks. When she mentioned the serenade he looked over to her, a grin on his face. "I do, don't I?" He had almost forgotten that he had promised to sing to her the first time they met. It seemed like that was a million years ago with everything that had happened since then. "I'll get your dessert, and then I'll serenade you."
He pulled a cheesecake covered in strawberry slices out of the fridge, setting it on the counter. It was store bought instead of home made, but he knew if he tried to bake any kind of dessert it would come out horrible. Pulling a plate out he cut a slice of cheesecake setting it on the plate before he took it out to Devi along with a fork. "I hope you like strawberry cheesecake." He set the plate down in front of her, before he leaned down kissing her lightly. "And now I'll get my guitar"
Drawing away he smiled, then turned heading back into the bedroom to get his guitar.

Devi smiled and dug into the strawberry cheesecake, and continued to drink her glass of wine. She was excited - tonight was shaping up to be their best date yet. A home cooked meal, a bottle of wine, a delicious dessert, being serenaded, and no supernatural disaster? What wasn't there to love? As she ate her dish, she called out to Damian in the other room. "I can hardly remember what song it was that I had asked you to serenade. Was it John Mayer? I think one of his songs."
She didn't know many other musicians. She knew John Mayer, the Jonas Brothers and that at some point a musical group known as The Beatles was popular. She meant to look into musical history, but she was way too distracted to Wikipedia that stuff lately.
