I didn't wash before teabagging Professor Nott, so I got sent here. *Cheers up a bit visually at getting the hug, patting Drake's tummy in greeting* How's your buttered roll doing in there?

*Looks up from where he's crouched beside a rather tiny Hufflepuff first year girl, delicate hand carefully correcting her with a few gentle movements of her wand*

*Feels a slight jolt in his stomach because he hadn't really thought about running into his other self's children, let alone that they'd be cute- er handsome....in his class. Walks over, jet black locks half hiding his emerald gaze as he smiles and offers a hand to Jamie, a good two inches shorter than the sixteen year old*

I take it Professor Nott sent you? Don't worry, you're not the first and we've only had two lessons before, so you're not behind at all.

*Tenses and draws away, but gives an easy enough smile*

Well, in this class you can't get what you want unless you work for it. Goals are good, right? Even if they're not legally attainable.

*Having formed the habit of watching body language to keep up with Clay, Jamie's eyebrows knit briefly at the teacher's stiffness, but drains the look into a smug smirk when Drake hits him* Right.

Just so you know, Professor Pull-Ups, I washed my kit before coming up here, so Extra Credit Teabagging shouldn't go as poorly as it did with Nott.

Oh, I only give extra credit to those that can fit under my desk. Reckon having a big gob like you seem to might help you even if you can't meet the size requirements. I like working with people. *He said as a matter of fact, giving his own smirk to Jamie*

Just remember when I say take out your wand and it's not during a detention it means the actual dueling wand, which if you wouldn't mind doing now we're going to go over the beginning of the spell again. *Raises his voice towards the end of his sentence, catching the students' attention so they filter back to the center of the room*

Right. *Grins, but looks at his students, taking his own wand from its sheath at his side, raising it as he began to speak*

Like we talked about before, the first two weeks are about Shielding Charms. The particular spell we're covering today is difficult, but I see that many of you have been managing at beginning the first layer and those of you who haven't are still making great progress with your wand work.

The reason why I chose the particular spell is because I think it's best to work from the top and go down in difficulty. Seein' as it's a soundless spell and it usually depends on the caster and not entirely on the motion, well, it's pretty damn hard, yeah?

*Steps out a bit, moving his wand as he does, the motion slow and steady, looking somewhat like a painter as magic pours forth and begins to slowly weave up through the air* You have to concentrate on the shape first. Think of a big folded up tarp, a web or a drape. Keep thinking about how tall it needs to be, how it's going to be when it covers you.

Once you've gotten to the point that it's materializing like this. *Gestures to his wand and the slow expand of pale green glimmering before him like a tall rolled up carpet* You begin to expand it, shift it so it's not just a big blob. See, some of you have the idea. *Beams at two of the students a ways from him who are about halfway as far as he is*
