Nanu was running around in one of the temple rooms since morning, playing tag, hide-and-seek and just about any game made available to her with just about anyone who exchanged a word – or a glance – with her. As usual, her energy levels were incredibly high at first but she could almost feel “the switch” coming. The cub ignored it, of course, having way too much fun to actually consider moving to a better spot and carried on with her games as if no force of this world could ever stop her.
“My turn, my turn!” she chanted happily to two other cubs she'd just met before closing her eyes. “Go hide and I’ll find you!”

Oh a short break from her nanny duties, Nailah was taking a small walk around the temple before going back. Hearing a familiar voice not too faraway, she approached closer to one of the temple rooms, peeking around the corner. The lioness smiled, seeing it was her younger sister, smiling at her antics, Nailah crouched down, slowly crawling towards her sister, not going to scare the little girl, but just sneaking up on her.

“I’m not looking, I’m not looking!” the young girl shouted, spinning around on the spot with her eyes closed. Eventually she started doing a little dance on her own, completely disregarding her surroundings – who was looking, who and what she had almost just collided with – until the cub became so dizzy that she had to stop, slowly leaning to the side and then to the other. When Nanu tried to take one shaky step forward, the promptly tripped on her own clumsy paws and fell to the ground with one dramatic sprawl. And all the while, she remained with her eyes closed and kept a smile on her face.
“Ow…” she said more quietly but a loud giggle soon followed.

"Oh, oh!" Nailah's current plan of trying to surprise her sister was ruined as she moved quickly to nudge at her sister, wondering what was happening. "Nanu..." the lioness said, slightly worried though the worry was starting to go away as she heard the little cub laugh. The lioness nuzzled her sister once more, trying to get her onto her belly. "You okay?" she said softly, a tender smile on her face.

The cub rose shakily on her four little paws, looking up to find a familiar face.
“I’m okay, big sister...!” she hesitated for a few moments, trying to remember the orange lioness’ name. She thought it was unforgivable not to remember one of her older siblings’ name but in her defense, Nanu did have a rather large number of them and they didn’t live with her anymore. “…Nailah.” She remembered it suddenly and the pride in her face was undeniable. The cub rubbed her body against her sister’s legs.
“I’m okay, I’m okay! I’m playing!” she grinned, widely before starting a long and rather quick recollection of her day. “We got here really early and there wasn’t anyone here and then we played catch with those dark cubs and then we ate and then went exploring and then we napped – I wasn’t really sleepy so I just talked to one of the nannies – and then played catch again and now I’m playing hide and seek. I’m counting and everyone is hiding! So I have to count some more and then I have to go look for them.” She panted, looking suddenly exhausted.

Nailah was pleasantly surprised to see that her sister had remembered her name. The lioness nuzzled her younger sister affectionately, "Wow sounds like you did a lot today, Nanu. Are you sure you're not tired?" if she was, Nailah would do her part of being her elder sister, and look after her while she napped.
She could help but be a little worried, seeing how suddenly exhausted the little cub looked after her long-winded speech about her day. One minute Nanu looked lively, and the next she looked extremely tired. Was there something wrong with her sister perhaps, Nailah wondered.

“I did! I did do a lot.” The cub said in one quick breath, slowly processing her sister’s words. Tired? Well… yes, she supposed that she was starting to feel a certain tiredness, a certain numbness. An itch, an irritation. It was hard to describe this feeling but she’d felt it before. It was as if she’d suddenly exhausted all her energy and her desire to make an effort and now she needed to excuse herself from the world.
“I am tired. I want to be alone. I’m going to rest.” She said very seriously, the light in her eyes suddenly going out as her eyelids dropped to cover half her eyes. The cubs she was supposed to be looking for were instantly forgotten and the young girl immediately turned to walk away.

"Hm?" Nailah was perplexed. Was her sister alright? "I'll take you back to the den." she said, following after her younger sister. For such a small little cub, she could certainly walk extremely fast! Without waiting for Nanu to respond, Nailah gently picked her up by the scruff, padding back to her parents' den. She wondered what was wrong with her sister, and if there was any way to fix it.

Contrary to her previous (and usual) disposition, physical contact was not something Nanu wanted at this moment. The cub hissed as if a stranger had suddenly picked her up unexpectedly and a low growl could be heard from the struggling girl.
“I can walk, I can walk.” She said in a quick snarl, furious that her body wanted to turn limp under the soft grip of her older sister. Her flailing paws danced in the air with unsheathed claws. “Put. Me. Down.”
