Demetri Wright, even with a shattered kneecap and being stuck pretty much out of commission for a while, was still a hyperactive young kid. The problem with busting his knee had not only been the possibility he might not regain the same range of motion...but also the fact he had -no way- to burn off the energy he was storing up. Really, he would have appreciated the chance to do some crazy things while he was doped up on medication. Could have been AWESOME.
But no, instead he was wheelchair bound. Thankfully Heather was awesome and got him a motorized wheelchair so he could at least drive himself around and not get stuck in the middle of the house when he tired out. This was a plus.
Now, however, he wanted to test it somewhere else.
A soft POP was all that was heard when Captain Scheelite teleported into the Negaverse subspace. The last time he had been there was right after the battle at Elysion, where the remainders of their troops had been sprawled all over and licking their wounds. Today it was a lot more quiet...and today the cavernous halls of the Negaverse were met with a low whirring as he scooted along on his superamazingwheelchair.
Really, he loved this thing. Unfortunately Heather hadn't let him decorate it with stars...yet.
"Anyone here?" His voice rang out, eyes glancing around as he went down the hall. He had to be careful to avoid anything -too- hard for the wheelchair to handle, because the last thing he needed was to get friggin stuck down here or something. Ugh.

Alkaid was walking down the maze of cavern-like halls, winding her way with a purpose in mind. The sounds of her heels echoing off the walls were all that met her ears, at least until a whir and an inaudible shout echoed down a lonely hallway that intersected the one she was walking.
Her brows drew down as she came upon the intersection, curiously leaning around the corner to see who was making such a strange commotion. She wasn't quite prepared for what she saw down the long path. Scheelite in a motorized wheelchair? She was pretty sure these halls had never seen such a thing.
"Only me, I'm afraid," she smiled apologetically as she stepped around the corner, her eyes drifting from his face to his knee and then back again. "You went to the hospital then?" She stopped where she was, hands clasped behind her back and her head tilted a fraction to the side in her curiosity. Zink had said everything was alright, but the wheelchair suggested things weren't quite as good as they could be.

A voice! Someone was there! And it wasn't Uranophane or the General Kings or Queens or even Beryl. No, it wasn't someone who was going to berate him, call him useless or any of the things he had been dreading.
In fact, it was the one who had been so kind to secure his leg enough to get him to a hospital. He had been hoping to run into her again so he could thank her. It was the very least he could do. It was enough to draw a smile from the blonde.
"I did! And er...well yeah, you were right. Shattered, dunno how it's gonna heal, pretty screwed up for a while..." Here he sighed. Captain Scheelite was -not- enjoying being out of the fight. Not now, not when the Negaverse needed him the most.
"But I wanted to say thank you! Things got...kind of tense there, and I couldn't really say thank you, soooo I'm glad you're down here! I really do appreciate it, if you hadn't of fixed it enough for Faya and Zink to get me there it might have been even worse..."
Green eyes shifted to his immobilized knee, then back to Alkaid with a smile. "Are you doing okay? Or..any of the others? I haven't been able to check up on anyone..."

She frowned a little as he confirmed her first suspicions, tucking her arms behind her back and lacing her fingers together in that motion that seemed so natural but would instantly signal discomfort for anyone that knew her well. Luckily for her, no one really had that figured out just yet.
"Don't thank me for that," she shook her head, though her frown seemed a little less sulky - respect had a funny way of making her feel a little better in certain situations. "But you're welcome for what little I could do for you. I'm just glad it was repairable since it could have been.. a lot worse." Alkaid had been thinking surgery, knee replacement, all kinds of awful alternatives.
She took a few steps closer to the other blond, trying her best not to stare at his out of commission knee too much. That meant she was staring at his face instead and his disappointment was all too clear. "Don't look so down, you did a great service and no one can scoff at you over war wounds."
She stopped at the side of the wheelchair, slowly unwinding her hands so she could place on on the top of the seat next to his head. "I've seen a few people here and there, but I think you might have been the worst of it apart from that blue-haired lieutenant whose name I didn't catch. Everyone else seems fine for the most part." Of course Alkaid would lay to rest his fears over others before she would talk about herself. "And don't worry about me. That senshi painted a pretty picture of bruises on my back but it's healing quickly, you can hardly see it at all now." She was never more thankful for her senshi healing speed or for the aid provided by the energy sphere.
"And what about you? Are you having fun in your new.. ride?" She'd hesitated over the words, but it seemed appropriate once she settled on it.

At least the others were okay. That thought made everything better. Besides Tanzanite, who was being cared for, and them himself and Zink who had also already been taken care of they were okay. There were, of course, the casualities, but little could be done for them outside of remembering their sacrifice and then hoping that no more had to join their numbers.
Sigh. Being a soldier was a lot of work, and pressure, and really damn scary sometimes...
War wounds, that's what he had. On one hand he was kind of proud. It was a physical reminder that he had indeed fought his best to defend the world against the Senshi invaders. On another it really sucked because now he was stuck looking like a loser and unable to fight. It made him feel pretty damn useless...and it was hard to work off so much energy when you couldn't even get up and walk around.
Still, as the hand came to rest near his head and the question was asked, he did have to admit... "It's...kind of fun! I get to zoom around and never get tired from walking, and of course it doesn't hurt my knee! Kind of sucks I can't get up though, but...Paragonite was really awesome to get it for me, so I'm gonna use it as long as necessary and enjoy it."
There, that sad look was off his face (it never seemed to really belong with Scheelite anyway), and replaced by his usual goofy grin. The blonde beamed happily up at her. "I'm just glad you're okay too! And everyone else, of course! Zink will be okay too...now we just have to pull ourselves together and win next time we go in there."
Oh there would be a next time, and Scheelite fully believed in the Negaverse to win the battle the next time their sides clashed.
"Are...you down here often? Doesn't it get sort of...boring?" He knew some of the officers hung out in the subspace. But man it was so..quiet most of the time.

Alkaid could only smile as he rambled on, making it painfully obvious that he was having a hard time burning off some pent up energy. Alkaid didn't really know Schee that well, apart from being rather intimate with his destroyed kneecap.
"All you can do is put your energy into a swift recovery, captain," she turned her smile down at him as she stood next to the head of his wheelchair. "There's no use in wasting energy on worrying because stress isn't really included in the recipe for quick healing." She knew he had a right to worry though, she knew he was perfectly logical in the concern over his friends. She had seen casualties and some gruesome deaths, she had seen injuries and caused them too. This was war, there was no denying it, and war was never beautiful or kind - not to the soldiers.
"I live down here, for the time being." She was pleased to have a change of subject since she was sure staying on the topic of war would be endlessly frustrating for him and she couldn't lie just to make him feel better. "It can get a little lonely, but in a way I'm glad, because I don't remember how to be human sometimes. I only remember how to be a senshi." She shrugged and glanced idly down the hallway as she finished speaking, her face calm, as if she were just stating a fact. There was a bit of a far away look in her eyes though, a little glimpse of a frown tugging at one corner of her lips.
"But people come to visit, like now," her eyes glanced back down at him and she smiled again, banishing whatever lingering sadness had been there, "which makes it bearable."

"I could come visit you other times too!" He didn't understand not knowing how to be human. He didn't understand Senshi, or corrupted Senshi for that matter. There were a lot of things that Scheelite didn't understand. But one thing he DID understand was the need to feel like you belonged, that you were wanted and important. It was something he had struggled with a lot, and it was something he wanted to help others with if he could.
"Nobody should be lonely, especially not in the Negaverse! We're a family, and I like having friends...I could come visit, or maybe bring you things if you'd like? Snacks! Or...something to pass the time! I can't imagine living down here all the time..."
No, not Scheelite. He'd probably drive any poor soul living there absolutely insane.

Alkaid stepped back around the wheelchair so she could stand at his side, looking amused at his over enthusiasm and his promise to visit her and keep her company. There was always someone stopping by at least once a day so it wasn't as if she were deprived, but having someone specifically coming to visit her? That would be nice.
"You guys really are like a family, I keep learning that more and more every day." She rested one hand on the back of his wheelchair then and pointed down the hallway with her other one. "You can come sit in my room if you want, so we don't have to keep standing in the middle of he hallway likes this." Not that her room had much more to it than the hallway did.
"It's not so bad, but I'd really like something to do and maybe a few snacks." She had to wonder what kind of snack a hyped up teenager like Demy enjoyed though - her mind was thinking the worst, like pixie sticks. "It would be like a negaverse slumber party almost, don't you think?" She laughed at the idea, though softly, like she was afraid of Beryl's reaction to anyone even thinking such useless, happy thoughts in this place.
