Arachne tugged at her hood as she walked down the corridor towards Sin's room, her little bag of fortune telling props swinging from her hand. It was as good an excuse as any to get into a conversation with the ghoul, as Arachne would never come right out and say 'Hey I need your advice'. Not yet, she'd not gotten to that point yet, but she knew she was opening up more and more to the friends she was slowly making..and there was something else.
Something that had weighed on her mind since the Demon Only party and that she'd not been able to get out of her head, despite the solemn promise she'd made to herself.
Thoughts in mind, she almost walked past the door, and had to turn back around, shuffling back to the door and taking a breath knocking on it.
She stood a pace back from the door and waited for an answer.

Sin blinked as she heard a knock on her door and quickly shoved all her homework into a drawer. She never let anyone catch her studying if she could help it. She tossed back her hair and glanced in the vanity quickly before opening the door curiously and then smiling.
"Arachne? This is pleasant surprise!" She opened the door and stepped back to let the other ghoul in.
"Come in, can I get you a drink? a snack?" Always be a good hostess, her mother had told her over and over. If you left your guests wanting for nothing then nothing could distract them. Sin always took her mothers advice to heart, though she didn't always follow it. Taking it to heart was what seemed to cause most of her internal conflicts.

Arachne smiled. It was amazing how pretty Sin was, and she oozed an appeal that the spiderkin knew she would never have. Nor never really worried about having before now at any rate.
'You look lovely as ever.' she repled, stepping inside and taking an opportunity to look around for a moment before answering the ghoul.
'I'm good, thank you. No refreshments needed. How're you?' she asked, falling back on the mundanities of chit-chat to prolong speaking of that which she was really here for.

"Thank you, come sit down." She smiled and draped herself over a chair flicking her hair back. "I'm fine, excited about the upcoming Scarentines auction, I put myself up. I feel so impetuous for doing it now, but it is for a good cause, and when I ran for Vice President I did say that I wanted to help...even though I didn't win I feel like those promises shouldn't have been empty." It probably wouldn't hurt her odds if she ran again for the students to remember all of her good deeds...while she covered up the bad ones.
"So how are you? What brings you by?" She tilted her head curious if it was personal or if Arachne had a club concern. She could hardly imagine the latter considering the club hadn't even formally met yet. They would soon though, since they had to discuss possible new recruits.

Arachne took a seat, sitting on the edge of it, her feet crossed under the webbed hem of her dress. She placed the bag on her lap and pulled open the drawstring, pulling out a parcel wrapped in red tissue paper.
'I saw that event, I've signed up to bid for the sheer amusement. I wouldn't have signed myself up to be bid on, I couldn't imagine anyone wanting me.' she looked at Sin. 'Now you, I'm sure there will be a bidding war for you.' she held out the wrapped present.
'A long overdue gift.' she explained. 'The blade you sent me was gratefully received but I had to leave for home as a family member was taken ill, and so I apologise for not thanking you sooner.'
When Sin opens the wrapping she will find a rose made from silver and a deep red semi-precious gem.
((it'll look something like this; X but I'm going to do her own one =)

"Oh come now Arachne, your gorgeous I have no doubt you would be a bidding sensation. I'm sure you'll have fun bidding though, any cute boils you have your eye on?" She smiled and then blinked and took the wrapped gift.
"Oh you didn't have to, thank you. The blade was something I felt quite fitting for you, it spoke to me I guess you could say. I think sometimes I have more fun shopping for others then myself." She slowly unwrapped the present and then gasped as she pulled up the rose and held it to the light.
"Oh Arachne this is gorgeous...thank you." She examined it a moment longer before slowly nestling it back into the tissue, she would need to find it a fitting vase. "I hope your family is alright now?"

Arachne shook her head, pushing down her hood so that her face was on show, a mark of respect for the other ghoul as she liked to keep it up when she didn't feel like talking.
'I know my limitations, and a turn-heads kind of beauty is not something I possess. Anyway, yes I did, and you're welcome.' she nodded.
'It was my Grandmother, and she is doing okay, though she took the opportunity to remind me that if I had been more diligent in my practice I would have known anyway that it wasn't anything life threatening but she's the head of my household and I was..well I was worried.'
Her Grandmother was a tough old boot who was always on her case but Arachne did still love her in her way. She fell silent for a moment before looking at Sin.
'And to your earlier question, as to why I'm here.' her fingers bunched around her bag, wondering if she could just get away with offering to do a reading or if she should stop beating around the bush. Of course, asking what she wanted to know would also involve speaking very personally about herself but jack it.
'..I don't know, how do I ask this? Okay..tell me, you've had relationships with boils yes?'

Sin smiled at Arachne, she thought the other ghoul was prettier then she gave herself credit for. Still she let her continue speaking and rolled her eyes with a wry smile. It seemed that the elder demons were always on the younger ones case for something or other. For Sin it was her parents, for Arachne it seemed to be her grandmother, she knew Morrigan had issue with her father...and one it went one generation after another. Of course some demons simply spurned tradition and decided to carve their own path. Sin didn't feel quite that brave yet though, so she called her parents, worked hard to make good grades, and strove for power she wasn't even sure she wanted.
She re-focused her thoughts onto Arachne and nodded softly flicking her hair back. "Yes...but nothing ever really serious...boils...they look at me and see..." She half laughed and then shook her head. "It's like they can't take me seriously...but hey there's gotta be someone out there for me, I just have to find him and grab him." She smirked and then looked again at the other ghoul. "But you weren't really asking about me? You're having issues with a guy?"

Arachne listened to Sin talk with a faint look of surprise on her face. Of all the thing she expected her to say it wasn't that. She guessed she had judged the ghoul a fair bit by experience.
'We can talk about you as well, that wouldn't be fair for me to just bend your ear and not allow you the same.' she said, putting the bag down and sitting back in the chair a little more, not exactly relaxing but not so tense either.
'Not issues exactly. It's more. I guess I'd have to start at the beginning or nothing will make sense. I came here for one reason and that was to study. Nothing more. I mean, I wasn't even going to make friends. I didn't want to, I mean I still don't want to foresee anything bad happening and wind up not being able to do anything about it you know? So I figured that keeping everyone away would be best. Then I got lonely, classes and homework only keep a ghoul occupied for so long right?'
She paused and tugged on the ends of her hair, looking away for a moment before continuing. 'So I started making friends. I thought, I'll just got without romantic relationships. And then, Jack, this is so stupid.' she rubbed her forehead.
'I met Rosciel. And he was rude and unfriendly but he was also straight forward, like I am. And I haven't stopped thinking about him since your party. And it's annoying me. I don't know if I should do anything about it, and even if I were to put myself forward I don't know how to go aboout it.'
Arachne sunk back in the chair. 'I'm such an idiot.'

She watched as Arachne seemed to settle down and telling her what was on her mind. Hmm, that made sense not wanting to see bad things happening to people you cared about. Except she knew how Arachne felt, it was almost impossible to just be isolated here at school. Eventually you had to let people in, she had wanted only alliances at first but she had friends now...even non-demons friends that she cared about.
She leaned in a little listening as Arachne came to what seemed to be the hard part for her. Romance had obviously found her despite her attempts to hide. Sin was about to give her a comforting pat on the knee when the name Rosciel hit her like a ton of bricks. Her face twitched and for a moment she was afraid her look of concern would be replaced by a look of stunned guilt. Luckily she had years of practicing masking her emotions and so she held her expression...sort of.
She couldn't possibly mean Rosc? The incubus? The incubus she had kissed in the hallway the day before?! THAT Rosc? The one who she had told she would apologize to Arachne for, except he had said that Arachne and he weren't a couple, or anything. Now here Arachne was telling her she WANTED more with Rosc...that Rosc. Oh sweet Jack, why did these things happen to her?
"Rosc huh? Well...he's a great dancer..." She thought back to the demon party and her little tango with him. Hmm...yes he was an excellent dancer, but he was guarded and he could be so rude. "Arachne if you really feel something for him...maybe it's best to just...tell him?" Oh nice Sin, no warning? She took a deep breath and pushed her hair back looking a bit nervous.
"Actually...to be honest...I sort of...uhh...tripped the other day and...ran into Rosc..." With my lips...except she really didn't think that would sound quite right. "We...kissed, and when I apologized...I mean I wanted to apologize to you, but he assured me there was no relationship? I'm sorry Arachne, I didn't know that YOU felt differently. Maybe you ought to let him know, he seems pretty oblivious." Well that was only slightly less awkward then she had ever imagined possible.

Arachne wondered at the flicker of expression on Sin's face, maybe she was thinking that she was a silly ghoul as well and was about to say so.
'I guess, that would be logical but I've never even approached these feelings before, and to actually do something about it would be to know what the hell I was doing.'
She raised a brow, wondering at Sin's halting words and sudden nervy look.
'What is it?' she started, before Sin spoke again and she shut her mouth, her lips going thin as she took in everything the ghoul had to say.
'You kissed him.' she said flatly, not knowing really what else to say. The part where he'd also spoken to Sin about her, and dismissed the thought of being with Arachne, well that was just great. She didn't know whether to leave or stay. 'Well..I guess there's no point then. I said I was no great beauty, and that just confirms it.'
What was she thinking? This was what she got for even attempting to think about that sort of thing. Maybe she was over-reacting but it felt like she'd edged out on a new limb only to have it snap straight away.

"No, no Arachne your gorgeous just look at your figure...your tall and your eyes are amazing...you discredit yourself. Look it wasn't really even a kiss it was more like...a sudden assault! I didn't even realize it was Rosc until after. He just obviously doesn't know how you feel, you should tell him...either way so that you'll at least know...and have a chance?" She felt horrible now, what compelled her to go around kissing random strangers anyway? Oh yeah she had wanted to feel in control...well hoorah her one moment of controlling behavior had unraveled into hurting someone she was hoping to make a friend of.
Sin was used to flaunting her beauty, she loved being admired, but Arachne seemed so down on herself that Sin suddenly felt bad for being so...pretty. Huh well there was something she had never expected, she usually reveled in her vanity. "Besides...even if Rosc isn't interested who's to say a million other boils wouldn't be? Your just always in the shadows Arachne, you have to choose if you want to come out and play or stay there...but I really think you should consider forming some...friendships at least. I know it must be scary to see stuff...ahead of time and feel hopeless, but nothing is set in stone right? One persons choice can change that? If you decided never to date again and read your future it would probably look lonely, but if you suddenly decided to at least try I'll bet the reading would change?"

Arachne couldn't think of herself that way, why would she? No one had ever complimented her before she'd arrived at the school, and most of that had come from friends who were - she was sure - just being nice.
'No, I don't think I could. How can I speak to him about this when I know he's told you there is nothing between us? He's never yet minced his words so I can't imagine he was being evasive.' she gave a snort at that thought. She'd known him for so short a time, but she felt that she could have gotten to know him better. Their banter had been amusing, and if he absolutely hadn't wanted to be around her he wouldn't have escorted her to the party. And that was another thing...she sat forward.
'Why did he agree to take me to the party? I know what I told him were my reasons at the time but why did he say yes?' she said the words more to herself than anything but wondered out loud all the same.
'And if I come out of the shadows as you say, what if this happens again? This was a hard enough admission to myself, let alone out loud. Is this what it's like to start dating?'
Arachne couldn't understand the attraction - romance, relationships other than friends - in her opinion they seemed to a be a complete b***h that you were lucky if you got right or ended up happy. She leaned back again and tugged on her hair.
'I'm a downer aren't I?' she said, with the first trace of humour she'd shown since Sin had made her little confession.

"Well, he agreed to escort you to the dance so perhaps there is something there? A friendship at the least don't you think? It's worth exploring anyway, I can assure you boils have given me less signals and still managed to attract my interest." She laughed and then sighed and shook her head, poor Arachne.
"Yes dating is hard, it's complicated, and sometimes you get hurt, but you can't find that happiness, that special someone...unless you at least try?" Sin was a firm believer in romance, in true love, in one perfect mate....she had seen it in her parents and it was what she wanted for herself someday.
"You just need to have more confidence in youself." Sin laughed and flipped her hair back. "Loosen up a little, put yourself out there...worse things can happen then some guy not wanting to date you."

'I guess, I mean, if he really couldn't stand me..' Arachne nodded. 'But you understand those signals I guess? I don't read boil so well.' she snorted. She didn't really understand them at all, especially ones that claimed they weren't here for ghouls, but let themselves get kissed!
'The kiss, why did you do it? I'm not asking out of anger, I'm just..confused I guess. Do you like him like that?' she asked.
If Sin did like him that way, well, there really was definately no competition and she was obviously just being overally nice in encouraging Arachne to try.
