Orion wandered around, it had been a week since he had actually entered this forest again but every day he had found himself drawn to the edge, standing their.... watching, waiting for something. And every day he walked away. Yet today when he had approached he had found himself entering. The forest was beautiful, tall trees of different designs and colours stood strong and proud around him. Birds could be heard chirping in the trees which made him smile. Birds, trees, plants, flowers.... all part of nature, wonderful and beautiful. And they never spoke or insulted him, always simply went about their days as normal.

His ears twitched. Water. He found water last time he entered, an.... a butterfly.... by the name of Eden. Eden. He stopped dead in his tracks, for the past week he had found himself thinking about what she had said, about the kindness she had tried to show him and everytime he did he would feel guilty. Guilty because he hadn't once complimented, hadn't once been nice in return.... no instead he had called her a liar, had growled at her and ignored her. Yes, Orion felt every bit of the monster he had believed his father to be.

For a long while he simply stood and stared until movement caught his eye. He turned and found himself looking at a small star coloured fox. It was wiggling its nose and staring at him with distaste. Orion took a step back. Eyes wide, and visable since he had slipped the blind fold off his eyes so that it hung around his neck like a bandana instead. Voice shaky he said, "Hello little Fox." Foxes were predators, something Orion wasn't. He usually avoided predators.

Elijah wiggled her nose and stared at the strange black and blue stallion. She remained silent, only ever talking to her master Maion and the other members of the Miakoda herd.

Eden

Eden had been wondering about Orion too today, she was back to her chimes, trying to think up a new way to make them work. So she was stood pretty much when Orion had first met her pondering her problem, having tried a few alternatives already though thanks to her brothers help she had not had much success yet. But she would get there.

Sighing thinking she must be over thinking the problem, deciding a walk would clear her head, maybe then she could come up with something. And that is how she ended up wondering how Orion was doing. Having terrified the poor stallion on their first meeting had shown there was a flaw to her design. Hoping he had made it out safely, she didn't want him getting cared again, but she hadn't herd anythign so he must have.

She had just got to wondering if sh would see him again when she came to a point in the path and there he was... with Elijah? That was odd to say the least, thogh she had to woder what had drawn the familiar away from her master. Though what little she knew of Orion he was proably in fear of his life about now. "Elijah, I didn't think you ever left Maion's side." Her tone casual as she stopped near Orion, looking at the fox, always plesant though she had rarely seen the fox at all let alone on her own.

Elijah looked up at the new comer and smiled when she saw Eden, although they hadn't really had many conversations with the mare she knew she was part of the herd, which made her safe. "Maion is away. I wanted to stay with Pele." Pele was the adopted child of Maion and Sengdroma, saved in a storm from the Ocean. Elijah and another familar called Spike had nearly lost their lives helping the basket, and only Maion's power over the Ocean had saved them all. Just another reason why she loved her master.

Orion was just about to leave the forest when he heard something approach from the side. Automatically his head turned and he took a half step backwards (just his rear legs shifting), yet when he saw the familar face of Eden he stopped. That was when the second surprise came.... the Fox spoke. Orion's eyes turned back to the creature and Orion gulped, did all animals have the ability to talk? Orion always talked to the butterflies and the fireflies, but they had never spoke back. Were they ignoring him? Like everyone else did?

Orions ears flattened on his head and his heart ached. He lowered his head and looked to the ground.... had his whole life been one great big lie?

Eden

Nodding at what the fox said. "I see, I've not seen Pele, maybe she took the other path, I've been round here all day. Either that or shes playing hide and seek." Not knowing the new arrival at all other than what she looked like so she couldn't really help at all. Looking over at Orion wondering what was wrong, he looked so defeated. She would ask when they were alone, she was sure that he wouldn't talk in front of Elijah, if he decided to speak at all. Seeing him without his blindfold today made her smile and wonder hat colour his eyes were.

Elijah nodded and smiled at Eden, took one last look at Orion and said, "Keep an eye on him." Before moving away. It wasn't that Elijah believed that Orion was bad, it was just that the little fox was very nervous, disliked new people at first as they always scared her. She had lost her whole family to a monster only to be saved by Maion. For that she trusted him completely, if he said someone was 'safe' then Elijah believed him.

She walked away, tail swaying from side to side as she started to hunt for Pele.

Orion winced at the Foxes words, why was he worthy of being watched? Why not Eden? Then again, it was clear that the fox knew Eden and part of Orion's mind remembered her saying something about a herd, he also pieced together the name 'Maion' and so assumed it must be the Foxes companion. Orion had heard of lots of different familars attaching themselves to people, and part of Orion had wanted that for herself. Had wanted a friend would be loyal and stand by him no matter what.

Eden

Eden showed an uncharacteristic moment when she rolled her eyes a little, the fox was fine, she even liked her a little, but so distrustful, but then she guessed the fox was like Orion in that way though probably for different reasons, but she would have no idea. Looking to Orion and giving him a smile, she was glad to see him again, and this surprised her, though she had just been thinking about him. "Don't mind Elijah, she doesn't trust or talk to anyone not in the herd, it wasn't personal. Then again she doesn't talk to anyone other than Maion much so yeah.." Shrugging, the fox was how she was, not havign a familiar of her own she could hardly explain it. She would have to ask Crown some time, though part of her had started to wonder if a familiar might help with her alarms and other things she made, but she had no idea how familiars chose their masters.

Orion kept his head down, only raising it slightly when Eden spoke, it seemed his guess was right but that didn't mean that he felt any better about it. He nodded to her but didn't reply in words. Instead he changed the subject and turned to look at her, smiling -the way he had imagined doing if he had redone their first meeting- "Hello again Eden."

Eden

Eden blinked at him momenterily dazzled by him, his eyes were silver it seemed, the opposite of her gold, and he was smiling. Blushing before she knew it, wondering what was wrong with her, though she put it down to shock at seeing him smile. Trying to ignore the fact that she was female and it was inevitable she would act it occasionally. Offering a smile back, when you were smiled and greeted it was right to smile and greet in return, and for once the smile rached her eyes. "Hello again Orion, its good to see you."

Orion found himself blushing too when he noticed a soft pink maring Edens usually light green cheeks, thankfully his black pelt hid it well. "Em..... eh.... yeah. Nice to see you again too." He looked away, a half smile still on his lips but he was unsure what to do or say or thing, this really wasn't the kind of situation he was used to. He had imagined 'doing over' his original meeting with her, complimenting her when she tried to defend him rather than growling and be insulting. He gulped and decided to try that now. "You look beautiful today." He had heard his mother call Lior beautiful and assumed it was a compliment a mare liked to hear.

Eden

Her jaw might as well have hit the ground when he said she was beautiful, not that her mother didn't tell her such things, and her brothers might if they were feeling guilty or wanted something though generally she was just sister and didn't get such sweet words. Not that she blamed them, none of them thought to say such things to one another often. "Thank you." Going with it though she was somewhat bamboosled. "You look very handsom without your blindfold, pretty eyes." Her words sounded lame to her own ears but then what did you say when a stallion complemented you? This wasn't something her mother had ever gone over with her.

Orion glared at the floor for a moment before shaking off the feeling and looking back at her. "Thanks?" It came out more of a question than a statement. He wasn't used to compliments at all, though he imagined that she was more used to them..... yet the way she had reacted told him that she hadn't expected or perhaps hadn't wanted them from him? That hurt him a little, stung and he wasn't entirely sure why.

Shifting nervously, or perhaps it was simply because he felt suddenly uncomfortable, he stared at everything around Eden except her. Eventually he met her eyes again, it was rare that he wandered without his blindfold, a habit he had picked up from his mother and half-brother. His brother was blind and wore it to conceal blank eyes, his mother was with sight but wore it as a symbol that just because you can see doesn't mean you don't walk around blind. And the reason Orion wore it? To hide the truth of himself. His eyes were expessive and he didn't like people to critism him.

He wasn't sure what to say or do, so he just stared at her for a moment and tried to smile every now and then.

Eden

After a while off an awkward silence Eden moved a little closer, she was still blushing, but her tone was more normal and reassuring. "I guess neither gets or gives complements much huh..." It as an observatiion that they had both had much the same reaction to giving and getting complemented. Though she was surprised, he was such lovely colours....

Her eyes drawn to the blues on him, she had never really thought about a favourite colour though she did find his blue drew her in, so she would say it was blue if asked, not that she would get asked, least not in the forseeable future.

Orion nodded at her words and looked away for a moment before returning his gaze. He still didn't know what to say or do so instead simply stayed still and looked around hoping something would catch his attention so he could talk to her about that instead. "Em..... em...." Nothing seemed to come to mind until he saw one of her traps. "....seems I didn't set one of your things off this time." He stammered and stuttered over the words.

Looking round to where there was a near by alarm, not sure he would feel comfortable if she told him she had deactivated them till she could fix the design. "True, you made it this far all safe and sound." Her smile showing again, pleased to see him and that he had not been terrified on sight of her again. Smiling as she saw him again, silver eyes and blues. Moving away after a moment to give him some space. "I uh found a couple of flowers that I think you could be, want to see?" Not having been looking, but she had seen them when working on something else and they had made her think of him.
