This month's topic--which will run until 3/7/11--has been chosen.

User Image

You've drifted ashore on a strange island, no survivors as far as you know from the ship you were on not a day ago. It's amazing you washed up onto this amazing beach, with a hot sun beating down on you. Wow, you might be able to find food and shelter easily, there are so many broken down trees from the storm.

As you go around investigating the island which seems to be made for drifters, you notice a few strange things, marks on branches, strange sand patterns, a large footprint. . .

Suddenly you realize that if there were survivors, there was a chance they'd not make it far. As soon as you set foot into the shade, a chill of unnatural proportions runs down your spine. This island is inhabited by large creatures, and you're probably the smallest.

Info --
In what looks to be your last home in life, all creatures big and small have become all creatures bigger than you. Bugs, man/creature hybrids, lizards, fuzzy things, your backyard Jurassic Park Style. Your job is to survive the best way you know how, by adapting and fleeing the deadly grasp of fate.

Tactics --
* Light a signal fir for smoke then leave it so the monsters don't eat you
* Try to leave the island
* spears can be made easily by rubbing a stick aganst a rock to make a piont on one end
* stay quiet!!!!! if you wander into something's territory stay down untill you can get away safely
* Mask your scent to blend better.
* hammer
* nails
* ax
* extra water shelter for tropical climates
* Using water shelter for water preservation
* Go primal. Land-based monsters don't stand a chance!

Tools --
* Something sharp (preferably a knife)
* Glasses (to catch the sun's rays and start a fire)
* Cloth (For first aid)
* rope and anything that washes up on shore
* camouflage is a necessity
* use leaves and stuff to make a shelter camouflaged
* mask your scent! mud works well for this
* Vines!

Let's talk Monster Island Survival!

My curiosity on whether the monsters make good pets would probably get me killed. xD
Hmm...
Tactics...
Try to leave the island
Light a signal fir for smoke then leave it so the monsters don't eat you

I dunno, I'd probably die in this case. xD;;;

Tools however~
Something sharp (preferably a knife)
Glasses (to catch the sun's rays and start a fire)
Cloth (For first aid)

This is assuming all normal tools were washed out to sea...

hmmm well any camping knowlage would come in handy...
asuming you have to work with what you find as far as tools go it's really up to luck (like knives and rope and anything that washes up on shore)

however spears can be made easily by rubbing a stick aganst a rock to make a piont on one end.

camaflage is a nesesity (for yourself and the shelter your gonna have to make)....just use leaves and stuff to make that.

stay quiet!!!!! if you wander into something's territory stay down untill you can get away safely

mask your scent! mud works well for this

should we assume this is a tropical island? because that would change what's avalible to you to a certain extent.

First off, I don't think a crowbar would help in this situation. A hammer and nails would be awesome, and maybe an ax.

I'm going to go with a tropical island in this case, as the 14 on the d20 would put it at a more positive place. Remember that tropical places need more water shelter as a fungus or infection would be more likely.

A benefit for having a large shelter from rain is the potential for fresh water.

I think the most exhilarating sensation of leaving an island after a long time would be the freshness of a set of brushed teeth, just for the record.

Make like a monkey and swing through the trees. Of course, that doesn't save you from flying monsters, but it'll help against the land based.

I'd try to find a friendly animal and befriend it. Most monsters are traders, though. You'd better have more to show than a piece of gum.
