The long winged blue was sitting beside His in an empty weyr she'd come across. It had a great view of the outside, he had to admit. The clear view extended very far. Perfect for storm watching. As the two of them happened to be doing now. There was plenty of height to fall into the wild winds of a storm. Wistfully he thought again of flying.

In fact, a very large storm was passing close by. Winds with a hint of rain whipped around the weyr. Kameth wondered if perhaps His had her eye on this weyr for themselves when he became an adult. It wouldn't be a bad one.

Wykla, her arms wrapped around one bent leg, was sitting at the lip of the weyr. The other leg dangled off the edge. Her eyes were upon the passing storm that seemed close enough to touch. Differently colored eyes tracked the strikes of lighting. Watching storms always seemed to bring a sense of peace to her.

Beside her sat her young dragon. Nothing had to be said between them, but they perfectly understood each other. With him there, she felt the peace extended out more. Faintly she could feel him longing to fly in the storm. A faint smile of understanding crossed her lips.

Shedrawn slithered through the Weyr, shunning the large crowds of people, he wanted solitude, he wanted peace. And this storm was just the thing as people naturally wanted to slink into their weyrs and only come out when needed.

His flits flew behind him silently except for the occasional annoyed squawk when one flew to close to the other. They were close to being full grown now and he was proud that they were slightly more behaved than when he was overwhelmed with both at the same time. Isdrayon was still mischievous but more subtle about it and Anyang was still a princess but one that wasn't afraid to get dirty now. He tripped on a rise just outside of an isolated but apparently occupied weyr.

This time it was he that squawked in an unmanly sort of way as he did a near face plant on the unforgiving stone just manging to get his hand out in time. Both flits stealthily landed on his back. He was sure they were silently laughing at him. All three listened for a response from the weyr.

This would be wonderful if this is a bronze or brown rider and I look completely like a fool, he thought, perhaps I could melt into the floor. And what if its a GIRL... well then I will melt.

Wykla turned her head slightly. She had thought there was a noise comming from the rider's quarters. Sitting as she was in the dragon's weyr, Wykla thought it was perhaps the thunder she'd mistaken for something else. She was about to turn back to the storm when an alerting cheep from the flits perched on Kameth drew her attention.

"What is it?" She asked with a frown, looking at Kameth, Boreal, and Fescues. The trio had their whirling eyes turned toward the entrance.
There is someone out there Mine. There was a short pause as the dragon queried the flits. It is flits Isdrayon, Anyang, and their boy.

Wykla pondered a moment. The flit names sounded familiar and it took her a moment to place them with the correct person. Shedrawn. Boreal gave a loud cheep to his offspring. Fescues gave a happy trill to her brother.

Shedrawn groaned. Gravity thou art heartless. He scrunched up his face and unstuck his upper body from the hard ground. He groaned again as he heard the firelizards acknowledge his presence. Isdrayon gave a joyous loud trill and lifted off of Shedrawn to swirl around the room an up to Wykla and Boreal and Fescues and Kameth.(In that order). Anyang stayed on Shedrawns back sensing his emotions and trying to protect him. He could always count on Anyang, Isdrayon sensed no danger and went ahead to greet everybody within the weyr. He had heard a girls voice.
Melting Time, he thought. He had not yet lifted his head so he had not figured out that it was Wykla who would be witness to his acrobatics.
Anyangs eyes whirled in the dark and Isdrayon finally returned to him to land again on his back, walked around a bit and settled on his right leg.

Wykla grinned as the familiar bronze flit whirled in, greeting her and his dragonic members. She climbed to her feet slowly as the bronze zipped back out. Her two flits flew to her shoulders as she headed across the massive cavern that was the dragon's weyr. She passed through the empty rider's quarters to look down on Shedrawn with her hands on her hips.

"Are you just gonna lay there or get up?" The flits on her shoulders gave cheeps. "What are you doing here Shedrawn?"

He groaned, and looked up "Ahhh Wykla fancy meeting you here.. Well to tell the truth I was hiding, from the crowds and social necessities. I simply wanted peace and solitude, what i found was an upraised piece of cave floor." He grinned and heaved himself up. "What are you doing here? It's kind of stormy tonight." Anyang crawled over his shoulder and clung to his chest. Isdrayon stubbornly stayed attached to his leg.

She looked down at him. A slight grin crossed her lips. Wykla offered her hand to help him up. "C'mon you'll never find peace and solitude there." The girl heard her dragon calling saying the storm was starting to put on a good show. Right, we'll be right there.

"Kameth said the storm is getting started. We come to watch as the storms pass by." She turned her gaze to the flits. The green was mostly out of the way, so her attention focused on Isdrayon. "You'd better move or you're in for a bumpy ride." Wykla turned to head back into the weyr.

Fescues twisted about on her shoulder and started chattering at the other green. Boreal, sitting on his girl's other shoulder, rubbed his head against her cheek and hummed happily.

Isdrayon's eyes whirled green and he fluttered off into the cave, to go see his favorite blue dragon again, Shedrawn supposed.
"You know sometimes he listens to you more than me." He looked down at Anyang, "Unlike you princess," he reassured her. "Do you mind if I join you? I like to watch the storms too, especially when they are over the ocean." he asked Wykla.
Anyang chirped in agreement.

"Sure c'mon. No one is using this weyr currently so we won't get disturbed." She strode back the way she'd come. There had been a number of empty weyrs she'd looked into during her time skipping chores. Wykla knew which ones were great for the storm watching.

"Really you think so?" She was kinda pleased at that. "I'm sure you'll get the hang of it soon. The two flits on her shoulders looked back at Shedrawn. Boreal trilled telling him to hurry up.

Kameth hummed as the little bronze fluttered in to see him. It is good of you to watch the storm with us, he said to Isdrayon. The long winged blue stretched out.

Wykla resumed her seat on the lip of the floor.

Shedrawn grinned at Boreal's trill, he wasn't quite sure what it meant but he scooted over to Wykla's side to view the coming storm. He nodded to the lovely blue and gazed over the darkening vista. This was going to be a magnificent storm. Anyang chirped in agreement

Wykla tucked her knee against her chin. Watching the lighting flash then waiting to hear the thunder rumble over them. When a particularly loud one had passed she spoke up.

"Everything going ok?" She didn't know why she asked. Usually she was happy to sit here and not talk at all.

"I believe so, I have adjusted nicely here, now it is just a matter of waiting for the next hatching for a chance at a dragon, or for when one or both of my firelizards rise to mate," he chuckled, "that will be fun."
"So here I sit with baited breath." he flinched and a particularly loud crack of thunder assaulted his eardrums. He glanced at Wykla, Isdrayon was slithering into her lap.

The girl nodded. She'd heard that sometimes those not born to the Weyr had a hard time adjusting. It seemed simple to her but then again, Wykla had been born here. She pondered what to say without sounding stupid.

"Well that's good. Being adjusted will help keep you out of the Headwoman's notice." She had been there a few times. "I wouldn't worry. The next hatching will be here before you know it." Wykla glanced over her shoulder at the young blue. Maybe she was just optimistic since she wouldn't be standing next time.
Kameth rumbled softly to reassure His.

Wykla laughed, then waited for the thunder to pass with a grin. "It's not that bad. Nothing like the dragons. Better find yourself a good spot when that happens." She shifted her legs to form a little nest for the flit. Absentmindedly her hand reached out to pet him.

Fescues eyed the slithering bronze. That was her girl, but she could share. She knew feeding time would come and Wykla would be there for her. Instead she hoped onto the boy's shoulder to chitter at her fellow green.

Shedrawn obligingly leaned his head forward to allow his green better access to her visitor.

Anyang chatted a greeting to Fescues and proceeded to complain in a firelizardy fashion about Isdrayon.

Shedrawn stopped listening to his green after the first five minutes of her chittering. "So how long is it until your handsome blue is full grown?" he asked Wykla as another roll of thunder simmered over the Weyr. He had finally relaxed all the way at the Weyr and could freely enjoy company.

Wykla smiled down at Isdrayon and rubbed his eyeridges. "What? Not getting enough attention?" She found how he tried to snuggle up to her cute.

The young girl looked over her shoulder to critically eye the blue. "Weeeelllllll," she drawled slowly, "barring his overly large wings....." She paused with a wide grin as the blue pretended to give an offended snort.

"He's still just a baby really. I think it was about a year before Ralae's green was full grown. I'd guess about the same for him. The last clutch started flying about 6 months. That's without riders though."

At the mention of flying Kameth gave a sigh. He really wanted to be out there in the storm. Feeling the wind lift on his wings. In response his wings gave a slight twitch.

Fescues listened and nodded her head. Oh! Oh she understood. He was a boy after all. She sounded smug that they were greens in her trill.
