Belle was curious, what some people called a fault however she saw it as a good trait. However once in a while when she had no new books to read, the curiosity drove her to explorations. While it was that same mindset that had her in her current position. She was trapped in this place surrounded by whatever those beasts were with a beast of her own. He wasn't so bad though, a little gruff though and foolish for thinking she would be a willing captive. Still her curiosity was piqued and since Beast had forbidden her to enter his room...well she had been watching and waiting and finally he was gone.
This was it, the perfect chance to see what he kept hidden in there. She slipped out of her quarters and into his her hazel eyes carefully examining everything. Pillows and books were piled everywhere many of the books drew her attention until she inhaled and followed the alluring scent of roses out further. She moved around what looked like an altar a golden cross gleamed in the darkness drawing her eye. She turned and let out a tiny murmur of pleasure as she found herself surrounded by hundreds and hundreds of roses. They grew in wild abandon as if they were trying to take over the room. How beautiful, and suddenly she was taken over by an urge to pluck one up. She leaned in to snip off a blooming rose with her teeth.
Beast had been out ALL day working his a** off to bring back something nice for Belle. He felt bad; making her wear that same thing day after day; not really being able to wash it. It might have been alright for him; but for a doe like her; she needed to be treated better than he treated himself. That meant she needed to get good things to make her feel special every once in a while. Even if he personally felt it was stupid and pointless. He'd even found a way to avoid the talons for the most part and gotten into a few of the older more interesting buildings and brought back a full bag of new books for his new little roomie to read.
He'd looked around for her in the main area where the lighting was best to read by and there was more for her to look at and explore. He walked around the cathedral; sniffing her out; the books and clothing seeming to get heavier and heavier with each step he took. Finally he went towards her room; but noticed as soon as he made it to the hallway that his door seemed to be ajar. He lifted an eyebrow and slowly lowered his head to let the bag roll off of his neck as quietly as he could; not sure who it was exactly in his room. He made his way quietly to his door and looked through the crack. there she was. In his room; reaching for....
He let rip loose a roar of rage and indignation as she DARED to touch one of HIS roses; one of HER roses!!! "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" He screamed at her rushing through the door and slamming his front hooves down in a bone jarring way. His nostrils flaring and his eyes in slits.
She was just about to cut the stem to capture one of the lovely roses for herself when she heard a sudden crash. She jolted up and reared back in shock as she saw Beast rush at her. His screams made her ears fall back and she tried to leap out of his way giving a soft cry as his hooves slammed down violently mere inches away from her. He looked absolutely terrifying and she ran past him as fast as she could her shoulder jarring against the large wooden doors. Her hooves slid on the cobblestones and she cries as she fell before quickly standing back up and rushing outside forgetful of the terrors that awaited her there.
As Beast raged like he'd never raged before he didn't think of the consequences of so much noise. All he could think about was that his space; his memories of her; his one momento had almost been raped of it's sanctity. How dare she? HOW DARE SHE? AAAARG! He whipped his head around when he realized she wasn't in the room anymore and raced after her. He'd catch her and make her pay for what she'd done. Hadn't he given her a whole place of her own? Given her her own private room? And she DARED to disrespect her in such a way. NO.
"YOU GET BACK HERE!" He roared at her jumping the stairs rather then just going down them; not missing a beat and doing his best to catch up to her. He let loose another window rattling roar before he heard one of them screech. Oh god. He stopped at the door and listened; he could hear them; yelling to each other. s**t. The Talons; they'd heard him! How could he have not thought of them! Oh god! They were going to get her! They were going to rip her to shreds. He burst through the hidden passage into his home and looked around nervously for her. "BELLE?" He screamed trying to make as much noise as he could to make them think maybe he was a better target. The Talons were smart; and blood thirsty; they liked a fight. Maybe if they thought he was a better fight; they'd come for him instead.
She had paused frozen in fear as she heard the Talons screech, but then Beast yelled at her. Get back there? No she wouldn't go back there while he looked ready to kill her. She raced further out blind with fear, she heard him call her name again and ran further. Another screech made her freeze again, her mind a tangle torn between running further into the open or running back into the cathedral.
"BEAST!" She finally decided it might be slightly safer with his wrath then that of the talons. She really didn't want to be ripped to shreds, unfortunantely her screams were probably drawing a lot of attention as well.
Beast heard her scream his name; and he ran towards her at full speed; as fast as he could go. He wasn't going to let her leave him; not by a long shot; and not becuase those Talons were hungry. Some herla didn't think they were smart but he know; he's seen them cut off a herla from the rest of them. Watched them systematically attack an actual herd. Watched them tear a big buck to shreds after they've worn him out and watched them store him away for later. Beast knew how smart these things were.
He raced to where she was and saw her; he saw the Talons coming out of the wood work towards her and he let out another wicked roar. She was in deep s**t and he was about to jump in there with her. His ears went back against his head and he bore his teeth in a menacing snarl. He'd seen some of these Talons before. Talked with one or two of them when they'd already eaten and were no longer feeling a sort of blood lust. They screeched at him; they didn't really like to let on they were smarter than they really were to the scared ones. If they kept thinking they were rabid; it made it easier for them to scare the herla and tear them apart.
"She's MINE." He roared at them; stamping his hooves in a threatening way. One of the newer ones tried to jump at him; snapping it's jaws and Beast reared up slamming his hooves down and into it's face. The others stared at him and snarled some more. There were at least 4 of them now. And they looked almost weary of attacking.
