Waking from her afternoon nap, the orange mare yawned as she rose to her feet. She shook any loose grass from her fur before taking off towards the small creek. She enjoyed being close to a drinking spot after a nap. Laying out in the sunlight made her thirsty and more tired than before. Her long tail swished behind her as she dipped her head down to drink.

Kendrick was out stretching his wings today since the weather seemed fairly decent. He hadn't had a good fly in a while and it was about time he had one. He was still slowly trying to keep his mind off his sister and her 'friend', which was still difficult for the protective brother in him but he was trying to be good. Sorta. He had yet to meet the stallion so that made it worse to picture his innocent sister with a faceless stallion. He shook his head. He wasn't gonna think about it. Nope.
It seemed about time for a break and he swooped down low to the ground and landed softly near the small creek. It wasn't until he was up on the bank of the opposite side of the mare until he noticed her. He gave a polite nod. "Nice day." And bent his head for a drink.

Cloee stopped as soon as she heard an unfamiliar voice. Looking up, she spotted the stallion from across the river. Her ears pinned back as her tail wrapped around her hind legs. "Tis nice..." She spoke in a voice like silk, but it had a tone of uneasiness in it. She always had a fear of stallions, but never knew why.
Looking away from him, Cloee hoped that he would leave or she would have to get over it.

Kendrick paused, his head still bent to the water as he glanced at her. Her demeanor was not at all friendly but...frightened? What did he do this time? He went back through his head. Landed. Walked over. Nice greeting. Drink. Either he was a lot dumber than he thought or he was missing something. "I'm sorry did I..do something?" His head lifted as he watched her. "I didn't mean to intrude if this was your territory or something, I was just taking a break. I was out for a fly you see," he spread his wings a little. "And flying can get tiring so I needed a drink." He was trying to talk to get her to relax and see he meant no harm. She was a pretty little thing, even all curled like a frightened animal. "I can leave... But could you tell me what I did or say to make you so fearful of me?"

Cloee listened to him speak, glancing over him. He seemed rather friendly and polite around her. "You can stay... I just have a fear of the opposite gender ever since I could remember. You have lovely wings." She spoke quietly as her tail unwrapped itself from her legs. Her ears were still pinned back as she watched him with her blue eyes. "My name is Cloee... what might your name be, Stallion?" She asked as she gave a soft smile.

Kendrick relaxed a little and offered a smile. "Oh good, it's just my whole gender and not me." He chuckled. "I won't come near you if it makes you feel better. My name is Kendrick, it's nice to meet you Cloee. And thank you, I take after my mother." It was strange for her to be so apprehensive toward males unless something had happened to her...
"Y'know I think I want to tell you a story. See there's this mare and you remind me a bit of her. She's very wary of others. She's a wind, such as myself, and she fears those without wings. She hated them basically because of something that happened to her in the past. She even tried to keep her kids away from them." He swished his tail a bit. "She's my mother. And yet I have nothing against those without wings like she does. So we can fly, that doesn't make me any better than you really. I don't know how to help my mother, she's a bit of a stubborn one," smiles fondly, obvious that he loves her none the less. "Maybe I could help you though. My mom condemns all because of a few who did bad things to her. You don't have to be the same, y'know. Not all stallions are bad."

Cloee felt a bit more at ease around this stallion. He was kind and wanting to help her with her fear. "Pleasure to meet you, Kendrick. And your welcome..." She spoke as her ears moved back to where they usually stand.
Listening to his story, she felt that she could learn much from him. "It would be nice to actually approach a male and not be afraid. Thank you for helping me, Kendrick..." she said with a light smile as her tail swished.

Kendrick smiled a little with a swish of his thick tail. "I haven't helped you yet. I guess it would be good to start with why you're afraid to be around stallions? Did someone hurt you? Someone frighten you with stories? Or are you just shy?" He noticed her ears make the switch and was pleased to see she was loosening up. Perhaps he could actually help her. To be honest, he wasn't sure, but something inside him felt he wanted to help her. Such a small fragile creature, and being afraid of stallions, which was a majority of the whole population, she would have a tough time handling things.

"A mixture of being shy and something that happened to me when I was younger..." Cloee explained as she looked down at the ground. She felt that deep down she had been hurt when she was younger, but never could remember. Looking back up at him her ears strayed to be pointed back with an expression of hurt. "Do you think you can really help me, Kendrick?"

As he thought. Scars healed but sometimes it took a while to erase the hurt. His mother was a prime example of that. "I'm not sure, but I can try. I'm gonna come a little closer and I want you to tell me to stop when I'm too close or you're uncomfortable, okay?" The stallion stepped into the shallow water and slowly started crossing the creek, waiting for her to tell him to stop or else he would end up right beside her.

Cloee watched as he got closer and closer. Visions of an evil being that walked across the water had flashed in her mind. "Please stop..." She spoke with a whimper as her tail curled around her legs tightly. He ears laid flat against her head as she looked like a frightened mountain cub. She would only remember bits and pieces of her past life that haunted her so.

He'd made it about halfway through the creek. "Don't worry I won't hurt you. And see? This is progress compared to me being way over there." He motioned back to where he head been standing on the other side. "So you're a full unicorn right? I noticed you have the signature tail of a full-blooded." He was talking again, mostly rambling about random things to take her mind off him. "I'm...I don't really know. 1/4 unicorn? My mother is an alicorn like me, and my dad is a wind. But then his line goes back into more winds and regulars so...I don't really know what I am," he chuckled a little. "I think whatever I am suits me though, I suppose it would be hard to picture yourself as anything but what you are, right?"

She had noticed how close he was than where he had stood before. Her tail swished slowly behind her. Nodding to his question about her breed. "I am a unicorn, unless I could be something else and it doesn't show..." She spoke in a voice like silk as she listened to his speak. "An Alicorn? At least your mother found a mate with wings like herself. She would of had a hard time adjusting to any of her children without wings." Speaking as she felt a bit calmer about him being around. She blinked as she looked over him since he was closer.

Kendrick couldn't help but chuckle. "I don't think that would happen because she'd never let someone without wings get that close to her, let alone have children with her. But yes she loves us all." He peered at her a little closer. Bright golden horn, classic unicorn tail. She must have been full-blooded. Or else any recessive genes just didn't make it through for her. Momma wouldn't like her one bit. But unlike his mother he saw no threat in someone who couldn't fly. If anything he would be more of a threat to any of them, due to being able to have aerial attacks. But especially someone as harmless and kind as her, she was no threat to anyone. "My hooves are going numb," he glanced down at the cold water rushing over his ankles.

Cloee nodded then heard him speak about this hooves. "You can come closer now... I feel a bit more comfortable." She spoke as she motioned him with her head to get out of the river. She felt bad for having him stand there. "That's good to know that she loves you, Kendrick." She told him as her tail swished. She was happy to of met this stallion. He was willing to work with her and her problem.
