He'd been feeling some strain since after Elysion, and he had been rather reluctant to meet most anyone after the self-bashing that had happened afterward. Their team spirit was down, and even he had spent a moment to reflect negatively on it. It didn't last. He couldn't let himself mope under some storm cloud of depression and not try and just turn this around to be more motivated. He only hoped the rest of the Negaverse were pulling themselves out of funk and would rebuild their spirits and put a positive spin on things.

For now, he had other matters to occupy himself. Tanzanite was resting, and he kept checking in on his apartment to make sure things were fine and to buy things here and there that he still needed. Slowly the place was coming together, many thanks to Paris. Patrolling was back to normal and was rather successful considering how sluggish a lot of people seemed to be this week. It helped considering he was delivering his quota along with bringing a few orbs back to Tanzanite despite whatever protests she had given.

In keep occupied, he kept motivated, and while he was at it, he seemed that lessening any stress on the general also went to extend to her recent recruit. He hadn't met this boy aside from a brief glance at the meeting – some guy in a rather hideous pink uniform – and decided to see if he was pulling through. New recruits facing such a battle had to be hard, and he hoped he was taking care of his injuries.

He contacted the boy via crystal, and decided to meet up.

Atop a roof was always, usually, safe, and he waited, dressed in black and green trim and looking out. Things were a lot more quiet in the city which was a good thing. He still had a few stitches and a heavy bandage wrapped around his chest from the claw marks from that one sailor he tangoed with during Elysion. He really didn't feel like messing with any senshi right now.

Bismuthite had been taking pretty good care of himself, for the most part. All his injuries from Elysion had been minor, and some stretching took care of the stiffness when he woke up the morning after. He worried about Tanzanite though, which was saying something, considering his general personality. He figured the best thing he could do though was to simply do what was expected of him. And he aimed to do that well, motivated by praise that he was sure was something not easily earned, nor freely given.

Bismuthite arrived, cool and quiet, unlike the 'loud' colors of his uniform. Yeah, he wasn't any more happy about the color that Wolframite. Why pink of all colors? It really didn't scream dark kingdom. Then again, he guessed, he drew the short end of the stick.

"Captain..." Bismuthite greeted, offering a bow that it was hard to tell if it was genuine or simply an overdone formality. There was a familiar bored expression on that caramel colored face, and in those rose-pink eyes.

The boy was prompt, which was refreshing, but then again, he didn't know if he just hadn't gotten lax about formalities yet. The bow had more than surprised him, and then he remembered how nervous about presentation he had been when dealing with higher ranking officers. He had started out saluting until Nealite told him to stop. Still, it was new to have anyone bow to him, and he suddenly felt a little swell to his rather small ego to be reminded that yes, he was a Captain. As much as he liked the bowing, he couldn't let it stand. "That is well and good, Bismuthite, when we are in the Negaverse headquarters, but don't do those sort of things out in the open. It points me out as a superior and that you're lower in rank. With senshi about, it's best to let them not know how powerful either one of us are." In short, it was best to either let them think he was a lieutenant and to surprise them by showing them otherwise, or that they were both captains and have them be more intimidated. It was something similar to what he was told.

"I'm glad you are on time. I'm a friend of Tanzanite and wondered who she had recruited. I know I gave my name over the phone, but it is Wolframite." He offered his hand for a simple shake, nothing to intimidate, but just to start off things politely and civil. Of course he might have been far too kind as a captain, but ever since Elysion, he hoped to inspire a stronger sense of unity in their group. "How are you doing after the battle?" He asked, wondering if he had sustained any injuries, physically or mentally. Seeing people die around you was a rather …hard thing to tolerate.

If Bismuthite took in the information the captain offered, he didn't show it. The only wound visable from the Elysion ordeal was a scrape on his temple that ran in to his scalp a little ways. Covered by his coat was the gash to his shoulder. All in all, he had been very lucky. Especially having been accosted by two supers at once. Either the senshi weren't as powerful as everyone made them out to be, or they had been playing with him. It it were the later, then they'd learn Bismuthite wasn't going to be playing games.

The handshake was quick, formal.

"I've nothing better to do but serve the cause," he said in response to his promptness. "I'm certainly doing better than some. Surprisingly. That was my first battle. One hell of a crash course, I might add." And now he had a price on his head, for taking out a member of the Blood Moon Court. But hell, he didn't even know what that was, much less who it was he had smashed in the face with an empty glass vial. He'd been too busy with that senshi with the matches. He had to admit, the flamethrower thing they had created was pretty cool.

The guy was rather hard to read, and the lack of any sort of reaction sort of made him annoyed. It was more the phrase that he didn't have anything else to do, which sort of insinuated that he had just been bored, but of course, maybe Wolframite was just looking into things too much. If Tanzanite had recruited him, he was sure that he would turn out to be a great addition. The fact he was alive at least said something.

He broke the hand shake as easily and quickly as the other. "Yes, we weren't really expecting such a large scale attack that soon, but you can't really predict these things. Plenty have happened in the past and you rarely get any warning. However, you did survive and that says a lot about you, and now that you see the full scale of what we are up again, you know how vital it is that we get every recruit we can. It's also good that you are up to date and know all you can." To this he started to move to the ledge of the building, getting ready to jump.

"Usually we get all our training out on patrols, and I wanted to check and see what you already know. I find that a lot of new members tend to be really uninformed and wind up either lounging around or getting nearly killed." Or just killed for lounging around. "..I need to get some of my quota in, so how about you tell me what you know and we go drain some energy while we are at it?" He prompted it as if it was a offer, but it wasn't. If the boy refused, Wolframite was all for pulling out the Captain card.

"I think it would be useful to have more new recruits go through a huge battle like that." It would certainly get red of those less inept, and show then that this was serious business. Bismuthite might have been more inclined to downplay the serious threat that the senshi were, had he not seen first hand what they could really do.

Bismuthite followed Wolframite to the edge of the roof.

"Though like I said - it was a crash course. My weapon, using that was all common sense. It is something I've used pretty much all my life - albeit not as a weapon - but as far as everything else goes," the energy gathering and all that, "I'm afraid I haven't been taught much of anything. There was no time."

It was bruising to his ego to admit he didn't know something.

He peered over the edge, looking down and waiting. As the lieutenant spoke, he started to frown. "You say that, but that isn't a good idea. Sending new recruits to battles like that almost guardedness that they will be killed. It's not something you throw someone into to make them take things seriously. You'll need training and experience to hold your own in battle, and just because you are alive shouldn't be something to get too cocky about." The captain went quiet a moment, thinking about how fair he would have done if he had been thrown into battle as a new recruit. Most likely he would have died. No amount of luck would have saved him from that.

"Seeing people killed around you, senshi and negaverse, takes adjusting. Learning your weapon takes practice. Finding out about a person's weak spots, not to mention starseed grabbing, takes lots of patrols and encounters with the other side. Just jumping in and seeing how well you do might be a fun tactic for other officers, but not me. We're a small group against many enemies. We need as many recruits that we can get, and throwing them to the slaughter is not something I like to see. We need to have lieutenants like you trained and know how to keep their head in the game so that we can see you get stronger, help us out, and to help Earth out." He rose up, spotting a slobbish man that apparently decided that, if he couldn't get to sleep, he'd get wired instead. It was why Wolframite picked this area to meet up. After a while, you tended to figure out where the primo energy spots were in the area.

"I should I can see you get to Captain one day, Bismuthite. It would make Tanzanite proud, and your progress reflects on her. You do know that?" He glanced at him, his one green eye keeping hold of his. "Now, let's give you a course in energy stealing. Jump with me. We're going to take that man down there." He gripped the edge and jumped down to a lower ledge, not one for just crazy jumps, and then jumped down. He kept his distance only to allow Bismuthite to go next to him and instruct him further.
PostPosted: Mon Feb 07, 2011 6:26 pm

Maybe he was just more apt to learn hands on, by necessity, do or die. It motivated him where otherwise he would have been more lax. On the battlefield he had quickly learned to identify enemies that were more on his level and pick them off. Not his fault others were slow on the up-take and got themselves killed in the process. Bismuthite still stood by his idea. The strongest, smartest, and luckiest would survive.

Bismuthite never had the highest opinion of people, and it took a lot to prove otherwise and earn any mount of esteem. He used people, and felt little, if any, remorse. He was a manipulative a*****e. A royal douche. Killing hadn't been a far cry for him. He just had to objectify them. Dehumanize them. He had no problem sleeping last night. Did that make him mentally unstable? In some people's opinions, maybe. People had been thinking that even before then, though.

Bismuthite finally seemed to come to any sort of attention at the mention of Tanzanite.
"I'm not a decision she will ever regret." Because for the woman he considered a mother to him - his Negaverse self - he would go above and beyond. Push when he thought he had nothing to give. It was an odd sort of indebtedness and affection he held for the youma-infused General, but then again she had handed him the keys, given him the tools, to achieve his goal;
Immortality. Not in the physical since, but a way to leave his mark in this world, and be a name no one ever forgot.

Bismuthite jumped down after Wolframite, feeling very much like a stalking its prey in the dead of night.

He could whisper, seeing as this civilian was pretty much off his rocker at the moment. "Word of advice. It's good to pick of some of the more…off characters at times, but I tried going after a druggie a few times and they just went wild. It's also good to remember that a lot of girls are screamers, but so are guys. Best to move in quick and fast." He turned about, letting their prey walk a bit more as he explained.

"Energy stealing is a bit different than starseed stealing. It's also a bit trickier. You have to have contact when you start off, so having someone kick and scream isn't a really good idea when you're trying to concentrate. Hit them. Stun them. Cover their mouth even. After you get started though, they usually drop and get quiet. Then you hide the body in their car or an alleyway. Dumpster if they really suck." Like when someone clawed at your arm and face and just made the entire thing an ordeal.

"You just need to think about taking the energy, like pulling it out and then focus on letting that energy collect in your other hand. Don't drop the orb and keep a firm grip. You drop it and it's gone." He had dropped a few orbs just from having a few strugglers, but he learned how to get better at it.

Turning, he decided it was time for hands on training. "Since you seemed to have done well during your battle. How about you go over and render the man unconscious, or at least unable to scream. He's a big one and could be hyped upon something." Wolframite stepped aside and gestured in a 'after you' motion for Bismuthite to go and show what he had. He was curious as to why Tanzanite had picked him after all.

Bismuthite decided to add learning about pressure points and things like that to his suggested reading list. If he had to knock people out, it would be good to know what places were quick and efficient. Right now he didn't have that knowledge, so he'd have to make do with some good old hit-em and hope you don't kill him. He wasn't good at the later part.

Bismuthite was stealthy, keeping a low center of gravity as he snuck up on the man, like a low ranking dog looking to steal some food before it was his turn. He crouched a fraction lover before jumping on the taller man and getting him in a choke hold from behind - choking off his screams before they could rise - choked squeaks and duck-like noises were all that were heard. The man would struggle, trying to knock Bismuthite from his grasp, but he held on like a good 'ol cowboy until the man passed out. Although it was a close one when the guy slammed up against a building, winding Bismuthite. All Bismuthite's strength was in his arms, and he used it well. More frisky, strong, or high opponents this wouldn't works so well on.

With the man down, Bismuthite coughed a little, getting back the breath that had been knocked out of him, complements of the brick wall.
"You wanted him alive, until I get some reading on non-lethal knock-out points, that's what ya get."

Wolframite watched, wincing once when the officer had been slammed against the wall, and also taking one step when he thought the civilian would break loose and scream. They were on a quiet road, but they were still by a road. Usually he would shove someone into an alleyway, but he knew this wouldn't take long. At least, he hoped so, and if it did, the Captain would have stepped in. Luckily, he did not have to.

While Bismuthite panted, Wolframite walked over and looked down at him. "First off, if it comes to the point where they are struggling too much or they might break your cover, kill 'em. Secondly, try knocking their legs out and then holding them down. It's better to keep your feet planted than playing bucking bronco on someone and certainly more noticeable on the streets. If you can see a side alleyway, shove them into it and when they are surprised, attack. I sometimes shove people into cars too. A good kick to the side, their legs, or, if they are short enough, grab their heads and smash it against something. That wall that guy used would have worked nicely if he had been a hair shorter for you to do it. Still…." Wolframite nudged the fallen man with his heel. "….he is down. Come. I'm going to drag him over to a more secluded spot. You need to concentrate with energy and the last thing you want is the cops showing up to bother you."

He didn’t wait for Bismuthite to help, instead taking the man under his arm and then walking as if it was nothing down to the nearest alleyway. The power boost Wolframite got had served him well when he became a Captain. When dragging people before left him winded, it wasn't so bad now that he had a bit of a strength upgrade. He also knew that the months of training and patrols and toned him a bit more. When he usually just worked on running for track, he now worked out on upper body. It wasn't gym quality obsession, but he did have some muscle. Clearly not enough to make him look any less slender and boyish though.

Once in the alleyway, he set the man laying on his back and crouched beside him, gesturing for the pink-clad officer to come beside him. Setting his hand down on the man's chest, Wolframite opened his other palm and smiled. "It's really simple, but takes practice. To take energy, you want to pull it out. Just think about sucking up energy and it usually just happens. Don’t' ask me how. It's just one of your powers." With that, he just focused and breathed, and soon a small wisp of white started to form in his hand. A tiny little orb, but it was snowballing all the same. Then, like that, he stopped and scooted to give Bismuthite some space. "Try it."

See, there was the easy way and then there was the more fun way.... Okay yeah, Bis probably would have gone for the easy way, but he told himself he had wanted to have a little fun just to spare his ego. He hadn't exactly been worried about cover. Just do and go. Hit and run. Too many chances were taken that way. Bismuthite was a quick learner. The mistake wouldn't be made again. Especially if it served to make him look better, appear smarter...

In his mind's eye Bismuthite could imagine the energy, like spiderwebs flowing through the man. He had a creative imagination, and even if that wasn't how it really functioned, the mental image helped him to understand as he knelt beside Wolframite.
"Along came a spider, and set down beside 'im, taking his energy away~" he twisted the nursery rhyme. Poor Wolframite probably wouldn't get it. It was his mental image, anyway.

There was the faintest of sneers as Bismuthite placed a hand on the man he had just had a choke hold on - because apparently placing a hand on him and choking him were two totally different things, one more disgusting than the other - and held out the other just so. For all that his mental image helped him to visualize, it still took a moment of long concentration to get it. He almost lost it once he realized he had it, excitement making him lose focus, but he focused again, and again it took a moment to re-find it.

The little twist on the song did remind him of the children's rhyme, and he didn't know if it was creative or a tad demented, but he let it go, instead concentrating on the orb that was slowly growing in the lieutenant's hand. It slowly wrapped about as more wisps curled about like a ball of ghostly yarn, hovering in the boy's hand as it collected and the body beside them breathed deep. Larger and larger still, before Wolframite took note of it's size. "Stop." He told him, and waited for Bismuthite to do so.

"Now train yourself to remember how far you can go with energy stealing. Usually you can feel it harder to gain more, and there is little to gain in your gathering. Go too far and you really do some damage. You just want to knock them out a while." However, for this poor man, it would not be a case where he would wake up groggy and need to sleep it off. No. Wolframite had another lesson.

"Pocket the orb." He told him, and then moved alongside the lieutenant once more. "Now, while energy is good to take on civilians, there is still starseeds. It was our energy source before we started to gather it this way." He gesture to the tiny marble orb he gathered from the man before he pocketed it. "Starseeds can be used as a quick burst if you need to eat one when you are weak. Don't try more than one. It wouldn't advise it." He moved over and took the boy's hand, making sure he wouldn't tug away. "…but to kill a senshi, go for their starseed. Never take energy from them when you can take their starseed instead. It rids the world of them." With that, Bismuthite's hand was submerged right into the man's chest. "Now look around for it. Feel for it." It was warmth. It was power. It was life, and if the boy found it, it was his.

Wolframite removed his hand, letting him look for it on his own. "When you find it - grab it."
PostPosted: Mon Feb 07, 2011 10:10 pm

Bismuthite jolted a little when the order to stop came unexpectedly. he should have expected it. Then again, he had been preoccupied with concentrating though, not wanting to lose focus like he almost had. He memorized the size and feel of the orb of energy before tucking it in to his sash, belt,..thing. Pockets would have been nice. Convenient even. However, like the pink, fate hated him.

Bismuthite, for a moment, wondered why they has switched from starseed stealing to energy stealing, but a quick second later the answer came to him - why kill your own people? Why kill people who belonged to the planet you were trying to save? It made more sense to take their energy. That could be replenished. Still, some sacrifices must be made. And there were truly some people who didn't deserve to be part of this world.

This guy...Well, Bismuthite wasn't sure if he were one of those people, but well, at least the guy would be serving a greater purpose.

The feeling of his hand in that..that space in the guy's chest... Well, he couldn't quite put his finger on what it felt like. But, rather than trying to figure it out, he got to work, trying to find that starseed.. He felt his middle finder brush past something warm. His eyes that looked to be zoning out snapped back to focus, and he adjusted his reach. Then, perhaps a little more rouchly than he should have, once he felt it was within his reach, he lurched for it, and felt the warmth in his palm. He assumed what he felt was what he was searching for. Withdrawing his hand, he held the starseed, though he didn't open up his hand to look at it, perhaps a little shocked still. Not shocked that he could do it. He knew he could, but the sensations...

While Bismuthite had pulled out the starseed and was wrapped up in holding the small universe of power that was his first starseed, he failed to notice the body. While the starseed had been gripped, it had kicked about weakly, unconscious and drained, but body still reacting to the intense pain it was going through and then the sprawled man jerked a few times when at last the starseed was removed, and was then still. No more Mr. Nameless, wanderer of the streets.

Wolframite only looked at him a moment, reaching over to tug the man's shirt down a bit. Best to be respectful – even a tad bit. He turned back to Bismuthite who was in pure awe of what he held. "When you are low on power and desperate, you can eat that. For now, we do not need starseeds unless they are a senshi's. Anything else isn't much of a prize and more work than necessary when we can just renew our power from the same people. When you steal energy, put the person in their car or some stoop to rest. They will think they are sick or that they took too much of whatever they are on, and sleep it off. Starseeds are trickier." He rose up, and gestured to the body. "Now you have to remove it. Come. We'll find a spot to bury him." He leaned down and picked one end up, and looked to the other. "Get one end. We'll go to the pier since it's closer. Take the wallet too. It's harder for them to identify the body if they manage to find it." He instructed. It seemed Wolfy had done this plenty of times before. He had been around when starseed stealing was the only way. He had a small graveyard that was the result of those times.
