((This is an ORP made for Senshi and their allies if they wish to have a meeting with Quail's Eye. Leopard, Seal, and Helios are welcome as well. Negaverse officers are not welcome to this particular meeting, though I welcome run in's with them if they are desired. Violence will not be tolerated, please take note! This is not a battle nor meta-moving RP, just me wanting to let people interact with Quail on turf he'd be comfortable with.
ICly this is set a few days after the battle for Elysion, to give some people chances to rest and also figure out that they can enter the land of Elysion at night.))
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today the fields of Elysion were peaceful and quiet. No sounds of battle broke the serene nature of the dream field. There were no bodies littering the ground, soiling the sacred place with blood and flesh. Today there was only beautiful silence, and in the sky above the fields a lone bird swooped and dived in the still air.
By nature, quails were a grounded species. The air was only used in desperate times, and only long enough to gain some distance before reuniting with the blessed ground. This was no normal quail however, the mind inside filled with very human thoughts. The air was wonderful, flying was freedom and in this quiet time in his once lost home he felt whole. No longer would he have to wonder about the strange powers, or awaken in the middle of the night in a scared frenzy as he found himself in the strange and foreign body of a quail. He understood now, he had found the home and family he had lost.
Unfortunately he had found it just in time for war.
The quail dove once more, using his control over the powers of wind to aid his flying. Coasting, diving, ascending..it was all so much easier when you had the wind at your beck and call. While being in the air was relaxing, it was also a wonderful vantage point to be sure no dark army would march upon their lands today. If the slightest hint of the Negaverse darkened Elysion he would fly straight to Helios and his fellow Eyes and prepare them for battle.
Hopefully it would just stay peaceful.
He'd spent the last few days going over the fight, brawl, he'd been in between the Senshi and the Negaverse trying to remember anything he could about the blond he now had a vendetta against. He knew he'd never seen him before but maybe he could remember something. A name would be useful but he just couldn't remember if he'd heard the other negaverser say anything.
So he thought he would try something new. Laying in bed he set his mind into his usual meditative state while falling asleep. Some people said you could remember things better in your sleep, even learn things, so maybe he could remember something that way. By morning he might be lucky and find himself with an answer as to how to find the blond.
When his eyes opened though it wasn't to the view of his ceiling he'd expected. Instead he was staring up at a vast expanse of stars he didn't recognize. Sitting up he looked around and was frozen with the shock of what he saw.
Elysion ...
He was back in Elysion but it seemed to be empty this time. No masses of Senshi or hordes of Negaverse agents littered the landscape. It was just grass and rolling hills as far as he could see.
Ever since the wide scale battle of senshi verse nega Fiona was vary wary of patrolling at night, if only because she was still very battered and bruised from the fight she had engaged in. She was a physical fighter, if only because her magic ability did nothing other than boost the power of a physical attack. She never strayed far from her new apartment and tonight had been her exception.
She hadn't gone to patrol at all, instead she had opted to rest her weary body and sleep. It appeared her dreams had other plans when she awoke in Elysion. She sat up startled by her surroundings and even more so when she awoke in her powered form.
Placing a palm on the grass she stood up and looked around. Her body was on high alert and she walked cautiously, fist clenched, dual colored eyes scanning her surroundings. So far she didn't feel anything dark or evil but she didn't dare let her guard down.
She caught sight of the flying quail, titling her head she stopped to stare at it.
There was something unsettling about Elysion. It was far too quiet for Sailor Merope's tastes. He was a city boy through and through, and his closest contact with nature to date was with the trees in a well manicured park. The wilderness and serene peace that came with it was something that made the boy worried, uneasy at the lack of background noise.
So he provided his own.
Faintly, the dull roar of rushing water bubbled up from the silence that grew louder as it approached. It was rather difficult to miss: seven feet tall and as wide as a full sized bed, there were four passengers on it. The one in front had adopted a surfer's pose, his arms spread out like an eagle's as if attempting to maintain a balance while wearing the world's biggest grin on his face. Another of his passengers shared his enthusiasm, and was letting out whoops of joy. The other two were too busy clinging to each other and wondering the wisdom in their choice.
Upon seeing the group, the senshi in the lead offered a wave before the group collectively yelped as the wave veered off to one side. It was wrenched back into moving forward as... wait. Was the wave getting smaller? Sure enough, by the time the wave was close enough for them to recognize the team the wave had shrunk from its mighty seven foot height to a yard. Then it became two feet. One. Zero.
"Aw maaan," Sailor Merope whined as his feet made contact with the ground, the sweet-tasting wave vanishing into Elysion soil. "I wish that lasted longer." He sighed, and looked rather disappointed about the whole thing. There went his entertainment, even though he really should have used the opprotunity to keep an eye out for Negaverse agents...
So much for his quiet day of flying over Elysion.
The quail darted overhead, doing a loop around Arsinoe before flying on. This one he recognized, he had been the one that Quail guided away from the fighting when the blonde captain of the Negaverse had damaged his ankle. It was good to see he was doing okay, but the unease of having strangers in Elysion once more weighed heavily on his mind.
Fiona was the next the small bird darted above. This one he didn't recognize, and so he was unsure of if she was from the previous battle or simply a newcomer to the fields. Either way, neither she nor Arsinoe seemed to be causing any harm, so for the moment he'd just keep his eyes on them.
The giant wave? Now -that- was something that brought great alarm to the tiny bird. Quail dashed off, intent on following the wave to be sure it caused no harm. Thankfully it burned out pretty quick, leaving it's occupants on the ground.
Also leaving them wide open to a bit of magic. The bird dove, positioning himself above Merope before giving one particularly large flap of his wings.
The effect was akin to the Airzooka toys. A concentrated blast of wind headed straight for the wave's master, the quail landing nearby momentarily after the wind either struck or missed it's target.
"You are only welcome here so long as you don't disturb the sacred ground." Yeah guys, that was a talking quail in front of you.
Droplets of the sweet-tasting water still flecked his skin as he looked around, trying to make sense of where he stood in Elysion. He still wasn't sure why the priestess in white seemed unhappy with them, nor why her companions seemed equally displeased. But here they were, given access to this strange land that even the Negaverse could arrive in. He should be thankful that the fighting was off the streets -- for now, at least.
Sailor Merope had turned to ask his companions something when a blast of air knocked him off of his feet. The force of the wind was more than enough to send him tumbling backwards, allowing the boy to perform an unintentional back-flip before landing face-first on the ground with a mouthful of wet grass as his reward.
"Fwagh!" Merope spat, lifting his head and wiping his mouth. "What the he- oh dude guys! Did that quail just talk?!" Talking cats he was familiar with. He saw a leopard in space with the angry pink-haired princess that yelled at him. A talking quail, however, was not. He didn't hide his blatant stare, oblivious to the quail's warning.
Oh god.
Oh god.
Ohgodohgodohgodohgod.
Sailor Atlas, like the rest of his teammates, was reasonably impressed by Sailor Merope when he took out the Crystal had apparently won. None of them had ever expected such a treasure would land with a member of their very own group, so it was definitely not something to take lightly. However, when Merope offered to show it off... well, none of them knew what to expect in the first place...
...but Atlas was very relieved to be back on solid ground again. He spent a couple of disbelieving seconds clinging to Alcyone before he took his first couple of tentative, wobbly, steps on the grass, still trying to resist the temptation to lose his breakfast all over the grass. If Elysion was indeed a sacred place, it seemed like it would be wholly disrespectful to get puke all over some of it.
And then the holy s**t a talking quail probably would have pecked his eyes out or something.
"Er," he said, a cloak of guilt suddenly draping itself over his shoulders, "um... oh, man. Should we leave?"
The quail gave an agitated little hop and fixed them with it's best impression of an angry gaze.
...When all one had at their disposal was a pair of beady eyes and a form often described as 'cute', it wasn't much. Leopard was much better at scaring off people just by staring them down. Quail was good at winning over with adorable...but not quite as good as Seal. ...Damn he hated being stuck in the middle all the time.
"....You can stay." The quail finally conceded, hoping closer but staying out of 'stepping-on' range. "You can stay, and you can learn, but violence will not be allowed here. Not today. The Priestess has enough to worry about with the events of a few days ago without having to worry about a giant wave crashing around in her lands once more."
The small little senshi of sleep seemed to have ended back in the dream world without much of a worry. Had she forgotten that someone had nearly killed her? Perhaps. She had been cautious with her first step back on the lush grass that fell softly under her bunny slippers. Her icy blue eyes were wide, looking around the land as far as she could see. It was beautiful, and the peace that rightfully belonged there seemed to have returned. She was so happy that everyone had stopped fighting.
She had been innocently wandering around, a plush bunny located in her hands as it usually did. It was clean again, despite all of the activities it had experienced prior. It caused the child great surprise to see a huge wave flash by her eyes in the distance, causing a small grin to appear on her sedate face. Where had that come from? She followed it, her slippered feet carefully trotting over the grass.
It wasn't long, but the child stopped in her tracks and nearly fell forward in the process. Was that what she thought it was? Her hand pointed, as if directing the plush bunny's attention towards the quail. It was a talking bird! Maybe it had seen the big kitty that Hypnos direly wanted to meet again. She was worried still, before she had a chance to investigate the status of the fallen leopard, she had left the dream world. As quick as a bunny with bunny slippers, the child hopped over to the quail with excitement.
"Hi mister birdy!" She announced before she paused. It was always proper to introduce yourself first and after that thought she continued. "My name is Sailor Chibi Hypnos, Senshi of Sleep! H-have you seen a big kitty roaming around? He got into a fight the other day with a..." the child paused. She couldn't bring herself to say it and instead the child keeled down next to the quail, but still within a good distance. She didn't want to frighten him. He was so small! She laid her hands on top of her lap and looked at the quail with a smile. How cute.
"I want to make sure he's okay."
"WHOOOOO!" Super Sailor Orion was having the time of his life riding Merope's wave. He imagined it would be what surfing was like, only ten times better because whenever the water sprayed into his mouth it tasted like kool-aid. Not to mention he’d never been surfing, so really this was a thousand times better since he had nothing to compare it too. "This is awesome, man!" In his enthusiasm he didn't seem to realize that the wave was slowly getting smaller and smaller until they were deposited to the ground. If he had, then maybe the feeling of solid ground under his feet wouldn’t have made him stumble, but unfortunately it did, and he had an embarrassing moment where he almost face planted. Luckily for his ego he caught himself before he fell on the tiny quail. That would not have ended well at all, he didn’t think the tiny bird would appreciate being smushed.
"Dude! It's a talking bird. How cool is that?!" He crouched down staring at the quail with a wide grin on his face; absently he wondered what kind of bird he was. Unfortunately, Orion wasn’t an ornithologist so he really had no idea. The best way he could identify the bird was ‘small, talking bird’ which wasn’t very specific at all. He was used to talking cats so a talking bird wasn't too surprising (but to be honest, it did give him a little jolt). For all he knew senshi had talking dragons stashed away somewhere. Or maybe not dragons, that could be dangerous; maybe they had talking unicorns, or deer, or…something. He didn’t really know what.
Standing up Orion went over to his team captain a wide grin on his face. "We have got to do that again sometime! It was freaking amazing." Gripping Merope's arms he picked him up off the ground, setting him on his feet carefully. It seemed the adrenaline rush of riding a seven foot wave was still going strong. Not to mention Merope was a few inches shorter than him and not all that hard to man handle. Tousling his mess of blue hair after he had him standing straight he moved over to Atlas's side, slinging an arm over his shoulder."You okay, man? You look a little green." He wrinkled his nose hoping Atlas wouldn’t throw up or something, that would be pretty gross and not something he wanted to be privy to. Just in case he did throw up Orion slid his arm away from Atlas’s shoulder, taking a couple steps to the side. He wanted to be well out of spewing range if the volcano blew. He had gotten someone else’s vomit on him once and it hadn’t been very fun at all.
"Thanks man," Merope replied as Orion helped him up, taking a moment to try and duct under his teammate's hands and swat him away. He tried in vain to fix his hair, giving up after raking his fingers through it a couple times. Good enough!
His green eyes looked to Atlas quizzically. "Leave?" He echoed, looking from the tallest team member to the little bird and back. Why should they leave? No, wait -- there was something that nagged at the back of his mind. It wasn't until the smaller senshi (Was she a child? She didn't look much older from his own sister! What was she doing here?) asked about the big kitty did it click on.
"You're... You're one of the guardians, aren't you?" He looked abashed. "Sorry about the wave, lil guy. I can only do it once a day, so I don't think you'll see it anytime soon. I'll try to remember not to use it," he paused as an idea struck him. "I wonder if I can ask her if it's okay...? If it is, then you can come ride on my shoulder! No hard feelings, right?"
The agitated state of the bird seemed to now be replaced with a reluctant sort of acceptance. "Yes...it's a talking bird. I am still unsure why that is so strange to those who see so many other things. You rode in here on a wave. Yet wonder about a talking bird."
Sigh, went the little bird. Their kind was so strange.
To Hypnos he hopped closer, tilting his head to focus an eye up on the small Senshi. She had asked about Leopard, and that earned his respect and quite a bit of trust from him. "Leopard's Eye will be okay, yes. The battle hit him hard, but the Priestess is taking care of him. Don't worry child, the 'big kitty' will be just fine."
To Merope he simply stared, apparently a moment away from giving him the best lecture a tiny bird could.
...Instead he relented.
"IF the Priestess allows it, you may ride your wave here. ...And a ride on it might be beneficial to understanding your powers." And also for fun. But that wasn't something he was going to say out loud.
"My name is Quail's Eye. I am one of the Guardians of Elysion, along with Leopard's Eye and Seal's Eye. This land is our home, the Priestess the one we guard. While I think of you -all- as intruders here...I do not mind your presence so long as you come with peace in mind."
Denebola didn't realize that Quail's Eye was studying her until his attention had already moved elsewhere, to four senshi riding in on a wave. Now that was certainly a sight she hadn't expected to see. Curiosity got the better of her as she jogged over to the foursome just as the bird began to talk. Her eyes widened in surprise at first before she remembered that there were talking cats so why couldn't there be a talking bird?
Just wait until she met/saw Seal's Eye.
The only real part of the exchanging conversation she caught was when the quail introduced himself and stated that he thought they were intruders. She frowned obviously displeased with that tidbit of information. "I don't understand," she said joining the gathering group. "Chibimoon was the one who initially brought us here saying it would be safe but then the negaverse managed to get here and..." she shook her head, this whole thing was confusing. If they were intruders then why did they continue to have the ability enter the dream realm?
"I guess I don't understand how we are able to enter Elysion without her now," she pressed her lips together in thought. "I also do not understand how the negaverse could get here either..." She would continue to be confused, they weren't meant to be here and that was clear when Helios ordered them to get out yet they were here. She doubted that she would ever truly understand.
"Oh, I guess I should introduce myself," she cracked a smile at the bird. "I'm Denebola."
Spica was pretty late and disoriented like always. She followed the information about Elysion she gathered around while she was patroling. And then she heard about Elysion and the attack by Negaverse.
She didn't participated at it, she was ashamed of herself, because she only figured out too late how to go to Elysion. She dreamt about it actually, like information coming directly in her dream. So here she was. Wanting to know more and be able to help the other Senshi in the coming war.
As he looked around his attention was caught buy the sight of a giant wave rolling through the grass. He'd seen it before, or at least thought he had, when the fight had been going on. Getting up, surprised to find his ankle hurt a lot less here, he carefully hobbled his way toward the small group that was now forming.
"...Denebola?" He hadn't expected to see her here again but at least her presence was a bit comforting. The others gathered around he didn't know but the target of their attention he did.
It was the quail who'd helped him get away from the fighting after he'd been injured. As he got closer he heard the small senshi mention a cat and the quail mention someone named Leopard's Eye.
