This is just a summary of the world you are about to start RPing in, so if you are new to Mass Effect or you are confused about the setting, read this and make your time here alot easier. This universes version of lightspeed is accessed by machines called mass relays. Flying a ship into the massive machines causes the ship to move faster than lightspeed, and cross the galaxy in minutes, rather than the centuries it would take otherwise. The guns obviously, have improved, ammo clips are no longer magazines of bullets, but rather blocks of metal called "thermal clips" that fit with any gun, when the gun fires it cuts a small projectile from the clip and fires it at the target.


Timeline
Okay, humanity first settled Mars in the year 2103, in the year 2148, humanity discovers ruins from an ancient alien civilization known as the "Protheans", this discovery jumps their technology forward 200 years.
2157: Humanity activates a mass relay, having been activating every relay they find, and meet up with the Turians, who end up going to war with humanity for the next three months since due to a near catastrophic war decades before, it is forbidden by council law to activate dormant mass relays.
2160: The system alliance, the galctic face of humanity, is founded.
2165: Due to humanitie's rapid expansion and grow in power, the council inducts humanity into the galcatic community, complete with an embassy on the Citadel.
2171: The Batarians, who at the time were a member race on the Citadel and had been arguing with Humans over planets in the Skyllian Verge, were refused their request to limit humanitie's expansion in the Verge and closed their embassy and left Citadel space in retaliation.
2183: A rogue faction of Geth under the command of a Turian spectre, named Saren, and an ancient sentient machine named Sovreign attack the Citadel, destroying most of it's defences, only for humanity to save them all. As a reward, humanity is given a seat on the Council.
2205: Present day. This guild takes place around twenty years after the games.
