I would love to change my gaian name into a real elven name, but i can't come up with a name that actually sounds good.
and those name generators i found are not very useful.
can anyone help me get a cool elven name???

I went through the same thing when I changed my Gaian username. To make my name, I actually used the dictionary in the back of Tolkien's The Silmarillion and the Elvish dictionary Dragon Flame (the link's not working at the moment or I'd post to it). Observe:
Elenriel -
El or Elen = Star
Ril = Brilliant or brilliance (so I added an extra little syllable)
Nimloth -
Nim = White
Loth = Flower
Basically you've gotta get ahold of a really good Elvish dictionary and figure out what you'd like your name to mean, then do some mish-moshing to get something that sounds right.

Seldaara
Selde = "Daughter" (took off the E for aesthetic's sake)
Aara = "Dawn"
basically "Daughter of (the) Dawn" or "Dawn's Daughter"
I've also got two other Elven Characters that I've created and their names are:
Celebwen
Celeb = "Silver"
Wen = "Maiden"
"Silver Maiden"
and
Galadhfea
Galadh = "Tree" (it's Sindarin, Galad in Quenya is "light" I believe)
Fea = "Spirit"
"Tree Spirit"

Once you get an idea of what elements you want in your name, it's pretty easy.

My elvish names are Miranwe Eluial Estel Elemmire and Elerinaneldar.
Miranwe = Mandi
Eluial = Moonlight
Estel = hope
Elemmire = Galadriels light
Elerinaneldar = star crowned immortal
My kids are going to hate me. smile An elvish and hawaiian name they will have smile heart

Though I hadn't planned on Elvish names, I tend to like. . . "different" ones. Like "Artaith (ar-tay-ith)" or "Raven" for a girl and "Dante" or "Joachim (Ya-keem)" for a boy.

My elven name from those generators was Alassee Elanesse, which I think sounds so great! But I wouldnt ever change my Gaia name, considering this is the first forum I have ever been able to get "Celes". Thats how old I am. Haha, when 500 or so people was max online at one time! Woopee!
And I dont think I would create a new account just for my elven name. Maybe if it was strictly for a rp, but I have so many other RP accounts its hard to manage. Them and accounts from friends who have joined and pretty much said they were done with Gaia, so they gave me everything, even their password, so I could use their character however. Hmm
Im so rambling..

If I have kids...hmm... The first girl name I would choose would be Celestia Rose. Celes for short... The Marina Lyn. Rini for short. for a boy... Zenith Alexander. Zen for short. Oh man, Im naming my kids the hippie names my mom shoulda named me.
Though I am named after a Fleetwood Mac song.

My name, Kelwyn, also means "silver maiden", but I took more liberties with the spelling than Seldaara did. sweatdrop
Cel = silver (also)
Wen = maiden
I simply changed the C to a K because the C makes a hard "kuh" sound, and I didn't want people pronouncing my name with an "ess" sound. Then I changed the "e" in -wen to a y. Y's are pretty. 3nodding
And "Tathar" means "willow".
I also have characters named:
Daewyn - dark maiden
Feawen - spirit maiden
Arel - noble star
Mordae - dark shadow
Syril (original spelling siril) - creek
Go here if you want to find elvish elements for your name. It's also a good tool for speaking in elvish around here. wink

i finally changed my name.
i've got this combination from a website though, it probably doesn't mean anything in the lotr-elvish wink
in the elvish from this website it means something like beautiful whisper
LOL i just liked the combination of those two sounds wink
