Sigh, I was in a middle of an event too when this happened, like two events one was where I was in a tournament thing and the other is where I was protecting some kid while finding his parents...

I think that if an RP partner has not replied in 7 days (and has given no warning of absence), affected parties should be allowed to use the missing character as an NPC to finish whatever is going on while trying to stay as true to the character as possible. This 'right' should be used to remove the missing character from the scene as swiftly and as plausibly as possible lest they are vital to the current plot in which they should be utilized as little as needed to prevent out of character actions.
If you guys like the idea, I'll put it before the crew smile

I like the idea, but, agree that we need to see about it with others. If you can get one other VC to agree to it then it'll be a new rule.

Perhaps that should be an added part to the rule : the inactive RPer, after not posting for 4 days, will be notified by staff that their absence is hurting progress in one of the threads. (ie, still active participants 'report' the player to a crew member who then PMs the missing party). Then, three days is given for the person to respond with either a post or reason for their delay, if not, the RP moves forward without them as described above.

We would then have to be aware of the Rpers who are on only during the weekends like Sage.

I feel special for being mentioned....... (IS that a good thing?) But I like Scytheress's plan thing. (To not have a totally useless post in here.)

7 days gives weekend posters plenty of time to respond. And if they only post on the weekends, the people they're posting with should be aware of this already and not feel the need to report them for halting progress in the first place.

I agree we need to first tell everyone who hasn't been posting to get their butts in gear. I say PM.

Yes. There's this one girl that I have to remind to post every once and a while because she has too many RPs going on. I always pm them.
