Scorched Highway
With the constant travel of merchants and travelers throughout it's history, this road has been paved by the feet which have beaten it down. Originally, this area was nothing more then somewhat flattened terrain traveling though the desert in a winding path. Over the years however, due to the ease of crossing it rather then traveling through the open desert, it has been flattened even more, the ground underneath compacting to form a Highway of sorts through the desert. It is a well traveled 'road' with many merchants, but along with most roads of popular travel, it carries the dangers that any high-traffic area might carry.
