Yet another repititous day of going out to stretch her legs and wings, graze, then return to... she guessed what she could call home. Ayanna's life had slowed down considerably now that her son had left her side and she didn't have to constantly chase after him to stop him from doing dangerous stunts. She couldn't blame him for not wanting to have anything to do with her, she had proven to be a terrible first time mother. It's not going to be like that if she were to have foals again... but, that was a distant thought for now.
The fluttercorn mare sighed softly as she reached a river and glanced at her reflection in the water's surface. Her tail flicked as she lowered her head to take a drink. She wasn't going to keep herself feeling sorry for herself. She was certain her luck would change when it was destined to be and she just can't rush it. Getting her fill of the cool liquid, she lifted her head and looked around. No one was around by what she could see. Pity, she thought, really having wanted to talk to someone. With a small shake of her head, she flew over the river so she didn't have to walk through it and continued to walk ahead.

He'd wandered further that he'd thought at first. Giving a look around he knew he's made it quite a ways from the herd her belonged to now. A nice close small group of soquili that didn't peer at him with judging eyes. Much had happened in his short time of being here in this land. Much that could have rattled his cage a bit, but it hadn't. He was still as much of a goof as he'd always been. His head bobbed up and down as he walked along, nothing particular on his mind at all this day. His forelock flopped about in his face giving him that blinded, dorky appearance. He could see through his forelock quite well, which was good as it had a tendency to just fall back into place had he bothered to shake it out of his face. His hoof falls were heave, making clomping noises with every step. It wasn't like he was really trying to be quiet at all.

Continuing forward, Ayanna's ears perked at the sound of large hoofbeats. Well, much larger hoofbeats than normal since she was so small in stature, despite being part uni. So, because of this, she stopped and looked around. The mare hoped to catch sight of what was making all the noise. Soon enough, it wasn't that hard to spot the source as a large draft stallion came into view. She watched the male silently at first, taking in how shaggy he seemed to be. This was the first time she ever caught sight of a soquili with such a large build. Was this a new breed? She thought.
Well, she wouldn't find out just standing there. So, slowly, she started to walk to the stallion, wings fluttering softly. When she was close enough where she thought he could hear her, she gave a nicker in greeting.

He stopped at the sound of a nicker. Ears swiveling about, they stopped in her direction before his massive head turned to take a look about. His shaggy forelock still hid his eyes as he glanced around only to see a small flutter like mare. Curious... he'd never seen one with wings like a butterfly before. Let alone one with a horn. His head gave a curious tilt as he looked her over, taking in the sight of her. He was silent for a moment before finally talking. "Why Hello." His mouth curled into a rather goofy looking smile as he spoke. A voice that was a deep rumble much like thunder but softer like something warm and fuzzy.

Well, it was a good thing that the large stallion noticed her, she didn't have to call out to him again. Her wings fluttered lightly as his head turned around to look to her. She had to wonder if he could see her when he saw all that hair covering his eyes, but she smiled at him softly. When he called out the greeting, she bowed her head to him in return. "Greetings." She called back, her voice crisp, but gentle.

"Pleasant day isn't it?" He looked around and shook his mane about in an attempt to clear his forelock from his face. He could see well enough through that mass of hair, but it was always better to have the option to see free of hair. Green eyes were revealed from under the bulk of the mane. "I'm Shilo by the way." His tail gave a light swish as he offered yet another warm dorky smile. It was just who he was, big, bulky and goofy. He'd always been the odd one in his family.

The small mare looked around for a moment at the scenery, before looking back to the large stallion before her and nodded. "Why yes, yes it is." She answered softly, wings fluttering softly, much like a butterfly would when it rested on a flower. She watched him toss his mane from his eyes and couldn't help but giggle to herself at the trouble he had keeping the mass of hair from his eyes. When he introduced himself, she bowed her head gently. "It's nice to meet you Shilo, I'm Ayanna." She replied, giving him a small smile in return.

"It's a pleasure meeting you as well,Ayanna." He offered another smile. "Do you live out this way?" It was an innocent question. the land was still rather new to him and he was still getting a grasp of where things were, where other soquili had made a home for themselves. "What's this land really like If I might ask? What I mean is, I'm still fairly new to these parts and I wish to get an idea of what the land is like, how the other soquili around are.."

Her wings fluttered gently, much like a butterfly's did when perched on a blade of grass. At his question, she tilted her head, just slightly, "Me? Well, not really. I come and go and tend to wander near and far." She answered with a small flick of her tail. She wouldn't know much about becoming accustomed to a new land, having been born in the Kawani lands. In fact, the only time she was still learning was while she was a foal. "This land is pretty diverse. There are mountain ranges, deserts, plains, swamps, and even a beach or two. There's also a few lakes and rivers scattered about and I think two or three forests. Somewhere in the land, there's a tribe of humans, but they're no harm to us, plus a few scattered herd, but they shouldn't be a problem. What you should watch out for are two soquili species, they're called Kalonas and Skinwalkers."

He listened intently to what she was saying. "Kalona... they have those here too? And what are skinwalkers exactly?" His fluffy tail have a small bob. He supposed it wasn't too surprising that there would be kalonas all over the place but he really hadn't expected them to be out this far..

At his questioning of the lands having Kalonas, the small fluttercorn nodded softly. "Unfortunately, yes." She answered, a bit somberly. She has yet to meet a full-blood kalona in person, but she still felt the affects of the breed, even through one who was partial blood. This caused a small frown to form on her lips as she then thought of her own children, who have kalona blood running through their veins. She soon shook the thought away though as the mare answered the stallion's second question. "A Skinwalker is a soquili that is even more vicious than the Kalona. They wear a pelt of the animal they shift to over their bodies, so that's how you can usually distinct one of their kind, but I truly hope that you do not get that close that you would have to use that."

He pondered this for a moment. "I see... well hopefully I don't.." He spotted the small frown on her face and frowned slightly. "Awwe don't frown.. It makes me sad to see one so full of life like you frown.." He wasn't trying to make her feel worst.. just trying to help in a way. Giving her a lop sided goofy grin he shook the forelock from his face. "Let's change the topic, I'd hate for you to become any sadder."

She looked up to him when he told her not to frown, saying that it upset him as well to see her do it. She sighed softly, shaking her head lightly, as if trying to shake the thought from her mind. As he tilted his head and grinned, she giggled softly. "Thank you for the concern, I appreciate it." She told him lightly, giving him a small smile in return.

"Much better, a pretty little smile for a lovely mare and a lovely day." Hew blew his forelock from his face. "Now miss Ayanna.. What say you to you and I taking a walk and enjoying the day? Becoming more acquainted and perhaps strike a friendship?" His fluffy tail have a slight bob and waggle as he looked around.

She had to quirk a brow at the 'lovely smile for a lovely mare comment'. She had heard it so much, she had always started to question if it was only a cheap way to flirt with her or truly a compliment. She shook the thought from her mind as he offered to walk with her. There, she smiled again and nodded gently. "Sure... that sounds quite nice." She replied then waited for the larger stallion to lead the way.
