Welcome back!A message had been circulating around Groanspring - Minipet Training 1.2 had started, and this time (due to popular demand), the subject is Fear Candy. An announcement made over the Ickycom seem to confirm the fact that the second Minipet Class is about to start.
"Minipet Training 1.2, ;Fear candy: Customizable rewards' is open for Sign-ups! You do not need to have attended the previous class to join this one.
This class is compulsory in order for you to attend the next class, as the two are connected! This also means that the Minipet you bring to this class will be the same Minipet you will be bringing for the next class - it can differ from the one you brought during your first class though! However, please bring only ONE Minipet along - I will be strict about this!
Please bring along something your pet really likes to eat - be it chocolate, grass, cookies, bugs... I hope to see everyone soon! And there is no fire this time, promise."
While the first classroom used for the class had been sealed due to the destruction caused by a fire, a sign pasted on the charred doors directed students looking to join the class to another classroom down the corridor.
Upon entering, one would notice that there was a lack of fire - thankfully. In fact, it was a pretty plain room with white washed walls and a concrete floor. A long window had been fitted along the whole stretch of wall facing the entrance, allowing moonlight to filter in. Covered florescent lighting line the ceiling, providing light for an otherwise dark room.
A white board at the front of the classroom with the words "Welcome to Minipet Training 1.2" written across it greeted the students as they filtered in. Facing the white board were several long desks, stretching from one end of the classroom to the other end, near the wall with the long window. There are 8 chairs per desk, spaced equally apart - it seems like the distance between each student would serve as their work space. Within each student's work space is a stove that uses heated metal plates in place of fire, as well as a covered tray - presumably holding the materials for the class.
Professor Malcolm was seated at the teacher's desk at the front with Vlad (well, all you can see is a harness) laying on top of the table just beside his left arm. However, there appeared to be two new additions to the class, brought in for an unknown reason. A Nergal Lepus narrowed her eyes at every student and Minipet that walks in, her eyes seemingly saying 'you are not worthy'; seated beside Vlad, using the invisible dog as a bean bag, she crossed her arms, obviously not happy to be here. A Shooting Star, however, seemed perfectly happy, curled up on the Professor's head and taking a nap.
"Please do not touch the covered tray. You may look at the contents of the tray, but please do not touch it until I instruct you to do so," Malcolm would repeat himself every once in a while as the students filled the classroom, "Its for later use!" Julie would then follow up by pointing two fingers at her eyes, before pointing at the student body with the same two fingers - she has sharp wings and she's not afraid to use them if anyone disobeys!
------------------------------------------------------------------
OOC: This is IMPORTANT; please read! This class is a pre-requisite to Minipet Training 1.3 - the third and final class on Minipet Obedience. After that, Malcolm will move on to other things (like grooming, etc WHICH WILL BE FUN I THINK SINCE THERE WILL BE MINI COMPETITIONS). Of course, Minipet obedience will be back, just not for a while. xD And if you need tips, he'll be in his office (WHICH I WILL SET UP *SOB*).
YOU HAVE UNTIL FRIDAY, 11 FEB to sign up. <3

On the tray...Interestingly, the contents of the tray (once uncovered) looked like the ingredients used to make candy, with sugar, water and various other ingredients all stored in containers. On each container, there is a label with a number on it - presumably used to tell one ingredient from another, as some of the ingredients look similar. A saucepan with a measuring cup and measuring spoons in it can also be found on the tray - it seems like there is some cooking to do!
A piece of paper had been slipped under one of the containers with 'INGREDIENTS LIST' as its header - perhaps you should give it a read before class starts?Quote: INGREDIENTS LIST xoxSweeteners: Granulated Sugar Brown Sugar Honey Light Corn Syrup Heavy Corn Syrup Maple Syrup
Binders: Water Butter Milk Unsalted Butter Salted Butter Heavy Cream
Acids: Cream of Tartar Lemon Juice (Squeeze out the juice yourself) White Distilled Vinegar
Scents - USE SPARINGLY: Crushed Lavender (Prof Cadmus' recommendation) Crushed Ylang Ylang Crushed Mixed Citrus Flowers
Food coloring: Refer to label on each bottle (Red, Blue, Yellow, Black, White) - colors can be mixed in the bowl provided to create a wide range of colors.

Signing Up...A paper on the desk where Professor Malcolm is seated at is actually the Sign-up sheet; it seems like there is no student limit for this class - you just have to find a place to put your name. As you approach the desk, Professor Malcolm looks up, "Remember, if your name is not on this piece of paper, you will be unable to attend Minipet Training 1.3!"
Who knew he could be such a nag?

OOC NOTES - PLEASE READ THIS
If you skipped all of the above, please read this at least! - This class is a requirement for the next Minipet class. Reason to be explained later. - No limits on number of students so DO NOT RESERVE A PLACE. If you can't RP at the moment, at least post the sign up sheet WITH YOUR STUDENT'S NAME ON IT TO AVOID CONFUSION. - The Minipet you used for this class = Minipet used for next class, so choose wisely! - ONLY BRING ONE MINIPET ALONG. NO BUTS OR IFS. - Feel free to interact until class starts.
- As this is a giant ORP, if you want to get Prof Malcolm's attention, post in bold, hotpink font... Like this sentence. - Bold the Minipet & favorite food item your student had brought to class for me to keep track of!

Minipet training huh? Whisper definitely wanted to attend this one, as one of her luck cats was being...well a handful. Of course it had to the be the stereotypical bad luck type, but she was hoping that this would help her with Curse. Then again, if it didn't help, at least she'd have that knowledge for later.

Sayuri was making wonderful progress considering her only complaint with the fox had been her incredible amount of energy; Junko was doing well with the playpen, the minipet proofing, the walks, the sedating whip. Everything was going well! But Junko had one problem...her new minipet. He was a foxsquirrel she had named Aoi. And quite frankly? Aoi was a little s**t. He needed the training more than Sayuri ever would! She wished her whip would work on him. Maybe Professor Malcolm would have another? For now, Junko had the very annoyed foxsquirrel on a leash. The foxsquirrel practically dragged the poor ghoul into the room, gnawing angrily on his leash and growling. How dare she put him on a leash! How dare she put this collar around his neck! How dare she! "Aoi, please stop that!" Junko pleaded, tugging gently on his leash. Thank Jack for Professor Malcolm! She had a hard time figuring out what Aoi liked to chew on besides her homework and her ankles, so she'd merely brought cookies that she'd seen him chewing on earlier that day.

Amethyst floated along happily in front of Carthusia as she entered the classroom, jotting her name down on the sign-in sheet. She brought with her a bag of scareberries, Amethyst's favorite. The crow did a quick turn in the air and lit on her shoulder, trilling with joy to be in the classroom again. She so preferred to be out and about as opposed to being stuck in the dorms all day! Carthusia tried her best to dance with Amethyst to get rid of the excess energy the crow seemed to have, but every little bit of guidance was helpful.

After the special experiences of both Botany and Music, West was actually slightly reluctant to return to what had been his favorite class at this school by far. It seemed to him that all of the lessons taught at Amityville only served to humiliate and cause discomfort to the student body. He admired that, certainly, but didn't particularly enjoy being the victim of it. In the end, he couldn't stay away. Since this class had been advertised as being all about rewards, he couldn't very well bring Hate. The angry little bull might have been good for whipping and discipline, but he didn't deserve any coddling in West's eyes. Plus, he hadn't seen Hate around lately. When the wrath demon thought about 'pets' and 'rewards' in the same sentence, there was only one animal that came to mind. Master Baiter, his scareon. West had never liked animals, but Master was different. He had picked her up by accident on his first time through Professor Byrn's maze, and when he tried to return her his second time inside, she had stood up to that ghost horse all by herself and somehow found her way back to his dorm. He would have been furious if the move hadn't been so badass. These days, she mostly kept to herself, but occasionally she would find a way to rudely startle him awake in the morning or he would see her antagonizing other pets around campus. He couldn't have been more proud. The problem with her being on her own a lot though was that West had absolutely no idea what sorts of food she liked because he certainly never fed her. He had finally decided on a small bag of jalapeño peppers, well, because Master could light herself on fire. The pair arrived to class on time, West taking the lead with Master sauntering after him at her own pace. The boil noted that this space seemed much less conducive to destruction than Professor Malcolm's first classroom had. He shrugged. Everyone had an off day. He signed the sheet on Malcolm's desk with a fading marker he found in his pocket, then looked around the room for a place to sit. He ended up taking a seat far away from the other students present, using the time before class officially began to check out his tray and the list of supplies. Master flitted from place to place, checking out the other pets that were present from a safe distance. Confident that she could take any of these pansies, the scareon eventually flopped at West's feet, bright eyes attentive and alert.

She had to admit, she was actually excited to see how class two was going to turn out. However, she had faced a dilemma when getting ready to head to class. Which pet did she take with her? Sure, Callix still needed some training. But...well. LW had recently acquired a new minipet that...could use more work than Callix.
LW thought about this as she twisted up her hair to keep most of it out of her face. It was about this time she realized that...Billy Bob was right there. On her dresser. Right in front of her face.
Thus, the she-wolf knew exactly which pet was coming with her and as she walked into the classroom, she made sure to hold on to the Mimic very carefully. He had managed to bite her fingers a few times now. And the damn thing just scared her plain and simple!
The she-wolf wrote her name down and moved to take a seat. Once sitting, she set Billy Bob down on the table, careful of all other stuff on top of it and worked to get out several packets of Cat-chup. He loved the stuff. Packet and all. The mimic swiveled around to just...stare.
LW did her best to avoid looking at him. Really. Creepy.

Gabrian had faced a similar dilema as poor LW just as he was getting ready to go out. He had two pets that would have benefited from this class for entirely different reasons, and yet... after a few moments of indecision, the nix had neared the large fish tank that he used as a bed and pulled out his floresce, Davy. He also made sure to grab a bag full of algae, which he knew his pet loved, before making way to class. The sign on the charred door directed him to the new classroom, and as he entered he not only noticed the fact Professor Malcom had decided to bring more than one pet, but he realized one of his choices had been the nergal lepus he'd told him about. That was.... interesting, actually. Or at least, Davy seemed to think so, seeing as how as soon as his eyes lay on the lepus, he perked up visibly from where he'd remain, lounging around Gabrian's neck; his head wings spread up a bit, almost in question, and when his owner moved away from the professor's desk, the floresce whined slightly. As Gabrian signed his name up on the sheet, he reached up with his free hand and patted his pet's head, making a shushing sound, "All in good time, my friend, all in good time," the words seemed to put the floresce at rest, though it was obvious the pet didn't understand one word his owner was saying; it simply seemed like the nix's voice had a slightly calming effect on the creature. It was right about then that he noticed the table and... oh good Jack, were those... oh boy. Making a slight face, he moved across the floor and sat by LW, leaning in to whisper at the she-wolf, "Are they going to make us cook?" the words were hissed at the ghoul, "LW, I can't cook!" the floresce for his part seemed rather happy to see the wolf, because it made soft chirping sounds and attempted to go wrap himself around the ghoul's neck.

Ren supposed he maybe shouldn't have doodled on the sign-in sheet for Minipet Training 1.2, but there was little point in erasing it now. Besides, he thought to himself, ambling towards the back of the classroom. It looks prettier now.
Holding Rhys in one arm, a bag of carrots that he had gotten from Alessa in his other hand, Ren's eyes quickly scanned the classroom, looking for someone he knew. His gaze landed on a familiar redheaded wolf, as well as the viridian haired boil beside her. LW and Gabrian. Suppressing a yawn, Ren stepped towards them.
"Yo," he said in greeting, sliding into the seat beside the nix. "What's up - what is with the ingredients? Are we supposed to be cooking or something?"

Siddie had intended to bring her newest schink to class, she really had. Que had a bad habit of disappearing just when she most wanted to find him. Unfortunately, the ninja schink had pulled the same trick on her just before class. Tox, on the other hand, had been lounging on the bed, mostly asleep, and hadn't put up any resistance to being carried. Siddie had grabbed a bag of his favorite dried leggy spiders to bribe him with. She hoped he wouldn't bite anyone in class. Especially the professor.

Arachne had noted with some eagerness that finally there was another class to sign up for. She had missed the first part, but hoped it would mean she wasn't at too much of a disadvantage. Of course there was only one pet she could bring, one of her wonderful Skitters, who she still refused to give some cutsie name that would detract from how skilled he was. She took a seat after signing the sheet, a jar of still buzzing bluebottles placed in front of her for her Skitters.
Only when she was seated did she look around the classroom.

Carrying her Reindeer, Dasher, Colette shuffled into the class and wrote her name down on the sign-up sheet. She was happy to take part in the class again, but she couldn't help but feel annoyed that the subject she initially wanted hadn't been picked. Of course what she didn't pick was chosen, it was just her luck. She wanted to know how to properly pamper her Reindeer, not get candy and shove it down his throat in a frenzy of spoiling him. Not that she had or would, but she couldn't help but think the reverse of this class order made more sense. She frowned and thought, I suppose this is what happens when you leave it up to the students. Colette didn't exactly feel like she could rely on a lot of other students, some were very questionable after all. She wouldn't be surprised if some just heard the word "candy" and went "OOH YEY."
The Reaper sat in the center of the first table's seats and placed her bag of grass on the table. It was the only thing she absolutely knew Dasher, who was now lounging in her lap, liked to eat. She had brought the bag of green fear candy with her too, and it sat in her bag, but she hadn't actually bothered to use any of it. With her elbow on the table, Colette rested her head in her hand and looked at the ingredients in front of her. At least they were doing something hands on that didn't involve sedating your pet.
Patting Dasher between his horns, she sighed and waited for class to start.
