[DEMONRP] - Sin & Alcyone's Demon Party

~ The Invitation ~

After a lot of careful planning and preparation Alcyone and Sin were ready to throw their party. The invitations had each been written in painstakingly flowing script and wax sealed. Everything was done the old fashioned way, because Sin insisted that an event where demons could meet, mingle, and form friendships ought to pay homage to all those who had done the same things before them. Of course the event was to be slightly modernized, Alcyone had selected some more modern music to mix into the classical for dancing. The food was a mixture of the sumptuous and simple, and the decor was kept modest for the sake of not having to re-model the entire demon common room.

Still first thing was first, the invitations were even now circling and in a few days the ghouls would see who came...and who didn't.

The Setting

The Demon common room had been transformed thanks to the efforts of Alcyone and Sin. Everything familiar chairs, tables, etc had all been removed and in it's place were a small stage, a dance floor, a long buffet table, a table full of party favors, and neatly positioned clusters of couches and low tables. The entire setting was a throwback to the finer, older, aristocratic ways of demon living. However not everything was old fashioned, the drapes of the common room had been taken down and new crushed velvet and gauzy red material hung in their place. The musical selections for the night were a blend of old and new world. The food was a combination of rare finer dishes and finger foods that one might see anywhere. The night was clearly a juggling act between an older generation and a newer one between traditional and modern.

Demon Party Favors

Sin being of a traditional mindset (hence the handwritten invitations) had carefully set out some lovely boxes on a table. Party Favors for their guests, of course they weren't what one might find in a kiddie's goody bag.

The First Row of Boxes probably attracted those who were more vain, who enjoyed trinkets, and expensive jewelery.



The Second Row of Boxes probably attracted those who were more practical, who wouldn't leave home without something trusty at their side.

She had been so busy in the past few days getting ready for the party and whether the party was a big deal or not, Alcyone had invested a lot of time and effort in it. Sin and her vision had come to life as the Demon common room was transformed into a more social setting. It was difficult trying to come up with the music selection but Alcie had tried her best to be modern and traditional at the same time. Sin's selection of food was wonderful and as she scanned the room, Alcie couldn't help but eye the delectable morsels. Though, she shouldn't have expected any less.

It had taken all day to decorate the common room but as Alcie straightened out one of the table cloths, she gave a sigh of content. "It looks pretty much finished, right Sin?"

Alcie was already in her formal attire and it was a floor length, aqua blue dress. It was slim fitting in the right places, almost like a mermaid style dress. It had a single strap draped over her shoulder and tied in the back to the rest of the dress. There were flowy bits similar to her every day skirt that were inspired from fish fins. It was obvious that she had gone all out in choosing her attire for this party. With Sin's help of course. Her hair was her natural wave but with additions of shiny bobby pins. Jewelry was kept to a minimum but she was wearing silver bangles and a simple silver necklace with a fish at the end.

Even though she tried not to show it, Alcie was very excited for the party and to meet the demons at this school. After the Christmas Raid, she had disappeared into her room to recover for a few weeks only leaving to attend classes. She was ready to rejoin the social world and she craved social interaction.

Sin gave a happy twirl in the middle of the room, her hair was in a rare up-do and the shimmering black fabric of her dress hugged all her curves. She might have gone for something a little more casual a little less flashy, but she had gotten excited helping Alcyone pick a dress. They had both been planning so carefully and worked so hard to make this party perfect. Sin smiled as she looked around again and then put a black gloved hand on her friends shoulder.

"This is going to be amazing Alcie, you did such a great job with the decor and the music...ahhh I hope there's a cute boil or two willing to take me for a whirl." She laughed and then smoothed her dress again for the hundredth time. "Well better get this party started hmm?" She walked over to the table full of party favors and straightened a box glancing over her shoulder.

"I...I have to admit...I'm a little nervous, but...excited too and glad we did this." She'd tell Alcyone after the party about Lucky 13 and the members she had invited. She walked over and opened the doors to the demon common room, show time!

Rosc led Arachne into the... surprisingly empty common room. There were absolutely no other students that he could see besides Sin and, he was assuming, the friend she had planned this entire thing out with.

"You're a fortune-teller, right? Would you this call foreshadowing?" he asked, giving her a small smirk before leading her into the room. He wore a smooth dress-shirt the color of his blindfold, carefully buttoned to hide his bandages with black disks that were almost like pieces of glass they were so polished. There wasn't a wrinkle on his black suit-pants, not a scuff on his dress shoes. His hair was a bit more pulled back than usual, more of the strands that were usually hanging about his face pulled back into the tail. And his wings were carefully folded.

Arachne looked around the common room as Rosciel led her inside, eyeing the changes that had been made to make it party ready. She approved, and was satisfied that a good time was to be had once more Demons showed up.

'Feh, I'm allowed to be off duty sometimes.' she said, flicking his arm with two fingers.

'Besides, you like it quiet remember? You should be happy it's not busy yet. You can find yourself a little corner and scowl at everyone who enters.' she flicked her bobbed hair, looking at the two demon ghouls that had obviously set this all up.

"You say you're off duty and yet you're telling me my future," Rosc shot back, giving her hand a light poke with one finger from his free hand. He walked Arachne over to the tables that were set up and slipped his arm from hers.

"You'll be okay on your own, now, won't you?" he asked, giving her a smirk that said he really didn't expect her to. Then again, unless Sin or... that other demoness came over to chat with her, Arachne would be on her own, which, awesome as it was for him, could be annoying to someone else. Then again, she had said something along the lines that she tried to be antisocial herself.

Whatever, not like he really cared anyways.

Sin smiled as she saw Arachne and Rosc enter, oh that was a surprise Rosc the rude loner had a ghoulfriend? Hmm maybe he wasn't as rude as she had thought, she had seemed to catch him at an inopportune moment last time. She flashed Arachne a smile and walked over to greet her, she had after all been one of few to receive a special note along with her invitation.

"Arachne, Rosciel...looks like you two are the first to get here...and fortunately for me familiar faces." She stepped back and motioned towards the buffet. "Help yourselves of course...I'm sure everyone else will be filtering in soon enough. Oh!" She turned towards the water demoness and smiled.

"This is Alcyone Fiore, Alcie this is Arachne, and Rosciel...well Rosc, I think? You do prefer Rosc right?"

'It's hardly predicting the future when you've already told me you prefer being on your own.' Arachne retorted, but still kept her humour. She could see this being interesting, and he wouldn't get to her. At all.

'I shall be perfectly fine Rosciel.' she said, and dipped a very elegant curtsey, a hand at her chest and the other holding on to the hem of her skirts as she did so.

'I'd say thanks, but we both know that was excruciating for us, so I'll just say, cya around.' she said before turning to Sin.

'Sin! Lovely to see you. You look wonderful, and everything looks very good.' she nodded at Alcyone.
'Pleased to meet you, do excuse me for a brief moment.'

With that she moved off down the tables, the rows of party favours in pretty boxes having caught her eye. She looked at the first row and chose a finely decorated one, before returning to the small group.

Rosc dipped his head slightly in lieu of a true bow.
"Most painful thing I've ever had to do," he replied with a small chuckled before turning to Sin and her friend.

"Yeah, Rosc," he replied, giving 'Alcie' another nod of his head. He allowed a glance around the room, at the tables of food and party favors and the like and slipped both hands into his pants pockets, his right hand still lightly wrapped in a linen strip. His hand was almost completely back to normal, he just kept it wrapped for good measure.

"If you'll excuse me," he said and moved away from the girls without another word, moving to the refreshments table to get himself a cup of water. At least, he assumed it was water, it wasn't bubbly like some of the other drinks on the table. A small sip proved his assumption and he moved to a nice spot to lean against the wall, looking more like a chaperon than a guest.

Arachne was almost back with the group when she rolled her eyes and groaned. She'd forgotten one thing when she had left and that was to leave a window open a crack to allow her Skitters to get back in when they'd finished their night time roamings.

If she didn't let them back in, well there would be dead flies in her bed for weeks in retaliation and so with an apologetic look she excused herself, leaving the common room and scurrying back to her dorm room.

Rosc watched Arachne leave the party for something and couldn't help but think escorting her had been something of a waste of his time. And probably hers as well. Her reason for it had seemed something social, but no one besides Sin and Alcie had seen that she was escorted. Speaking of...

The incubus moved from his spot at the wall to return to the hostesses.
"Sin, can I have a word? Privately?" he asked, gesturing a few feet away from where they currently were. This was going to be tough and he wanted it done as quickly as possible, before anyone else arrived.

Sin nodded as Arachne left and then looked over at Rosc and blinked, what did he want with her? She pushed back a misbehaving strand of hair tucking it into the up-do and nodded. "Of course Rosc..." She walked over a bit away from Alcie, who was currently the only other one there.

"Yes?" She tilted her head a bit her eyes sparking with open curiosity.

Rosc walked with her until they stopped out of earshot.
"I.." He sighed a little angrily and went to run his hand through his hair but remembered how hard it was to get his hair pulled back as much as it was. He let it fall back into his pocket.

"I didn't mean to snap at you in music class. The damn thing tore up my hand and I don't... do well when I'm already angry or hurt," he finally said, straightening his shoulders slightly. He was tense all over, hating this whole socializing thing. Why couldn't he just live in his house by himself for the rest of his life again?

Oh, right. Mom and Nic and... and the rest of his makeshift family. Much as he hated it, he didn't want to let them down.
