There was no avoiding it. No matter how foul a mood the Asteroid of Iris had left the senshi in, there was no avoiding another visit. The eternal Senshi of Rainbows needed a place to practice. It wasn't cutting it anymore to just whip out a Rainbow Slicer in battle. This attack of hers. She needed it to improve. It was starting to feel a bit humiliating to rely so much on a simpler attack. Nobody but the cat really seemed to know what she was capable of, so nobody knew if the Revenge was supposed to be just as lame or not.
It was not meant to be lame.
Landing in that desolate little rock she could somewhat call home, the senshi stood there with her hand gripping onto that ugly yellow boomerang. It wouldn't make sense to start right away, since it was so dark. There was also no good in completely draining herself of energy from the get go. After a good 10 or so minutes had passed, Sailor Iris' eyes had adjusted to the point of being useful.
With that, she threw the boomerang out. In all honesty, she was definitely getting much better at this aspect of the training. 4 our of 5 times average, the yellow piece of wood returned to her, and she caught it easily. Every so often, it wouldn't return as she wanted, sometimes wobbling off to a side or just going straight and dipping down low into the dark sand. She was beyond the point of getting angry every time she didn't get her boomerang back. She simply just ran to retrieve her training tool, then went back to work.
She'd give this sort of training about an hour. By then, from all the running around, she had at least worked up a sweat. She tossed the boomerang to the sand almost carelessly. "Alright... one shot..." she panted out slightly. This was part of what made her training so difficult. When at 100%, she only got 1 shot at trying this attack.
The blonde clapped her hands together in front of her, then closed her eyes. How was she supposed to think of the energy she was pouring into this attack? ********* had mentioned thinking of the 7 different colors as one entity. Parting her hands, she could feel the energy escaping her body, all draining through her hands as she formed an arch of colored light. Slowly, she opened her eyes.
However, what she saw wasn't quite what she had expected. Certainly, at hand, she had the rainbow between both palms, but something was different about the surroundings. It looked like the sand had just been freshly kicked up, leaving a dust cloud looming nearby.
It was then that she heard that familiar voice again. "This is how it's supposed to be." Sailor Iris couldn't help but feel as if this had happened before.
"...wait a minute..." Was the Asteroid mocking her? This was exactly what she had last seen when she was on this giant rock! She was about to stop paying attention when she heard a rather friendly sounding snort (of all things).
Turning her head, she noticed something she had failed to notice on her previous journey. Next to her stood a large Llama type creature. It leaned forward, craning its neck so it was at eye level with the blonde. It had rather large eyes with very long, yet dainty eyelashes. Normally, Sailor Iris was used to Llamas having brown eyes, but this one strangely had one blue eye and one green eye. Then again, the Llamas she had seen before (usually at kiddy petting zoos) weren't this big.
The Senshi stepped to the side slightly, but the strange beast moved along with her, keeping what almost seemed like a caring eye upon her. It was things like this that sometimes made her forget these were memories rather than actual existing events. Lured by the strange animal's curious gestures, she simply just dropped that rainbow she had stressed her body over making, the colors vanishing immediately as it touched the sands. She lifted up her hand, and as if it was instinct, attempted to pet the large creature along the nose. Had she thought about it, she might have remembered her hand would go through this vision like a ghost. There was just something different about this. True, her fingers truly didn't feel anything, but her hands stopped as if it had touched something. It was almost as if her movements were being guided slightly as her hands began to stroke the strange creature's white nose.
"Aque, you silly boy! Don't worry, we'll see them again."
As if comforted by this statement, the animal lifted its head and then leaned in closer to nuzzle against Iris' face. Even though she couldn't feel any of it, her body seemed to naturally move to compliment the motions, which eventually ended with her hugging onto Aque's long neck.
"We still have our duties... come now..." The voice let out a small clicking noise, almost as if trying to call a dog, and once more Sailor Iris' body moved almost like a puppet. She slipped her arms off of Aque's neck, fingers seeming to trail through the ghostly fur and eventually touched upon what seemed like reins. She made the motion to pick up the reins, but within milliseconds of the reins touching her fingers, the whole illusion seemed to blow away like dust. All that was left was Sailor Iris and the dark skies she had grown adjusted to on the Asteroid.
Aque...
She stood there for a moment, her hand still looking as if it was trying to grasp the reins, but had nothing to hold. After about a minute, she finally lowered her arm and shook her head back and forth. Not wanting to sound remotely sentimental, she simply seemed to scoff out "Space Llamas... jus' what I needed..."
Not wanting to dwell to long, she summoned her phone out into the open, picked up her boomerang, and soon enough was traveling back to Earth. One day she could leave feeling angry from a memory, and the next, she could leave feeling calmed by reliving the same memory from a different perspective.
"...Space is weird..." That was the only way to truly describe the sentiment.
