*So obviously this is happening the same night they are taken to Elysion, so it will only last for a few hours, Im guessing before they get the call, Lily's fakes food poisioning and the party is canceled.* Lily stood in the middle of the dance floor at the Shertatom looking around at the decorations and watching people make late minute adjustments. It was nearly eight o'clock and Lily was extremely nervous wondering if anyone would show. At first she had been particularly livid with her sister and brother for their plan, but now she thought it could be fun and she was excited. Excited to preform her very own song and even more excited to just hang for the night. She did not have to worry about anything, this was her night, she was 17, and headed off to college in the fall, she deserved this.
She fiddled with her a dress, it was one that she was extremely unaccustomed to, but it was flattering and when she put it on she'd fallen in love with it. She mostly figetted in her nervousness and she really wished she was allowed to go out and see who, if anyone was arriving. It was nerve wrecking not knowing, but she took comfort in the fact that she knew at least for certain some of her friends would be at the party and the thought calmed her slightly.
She looked to her new watch, a practical and pretty gift from her brother, given to her on her actual birthday, noting it was 7:55 and the music would be starting in just a moment. She could feel the excitement rise with her nervousness and it was needless to say, not a good combination. Lily sighed and turned to look at the DJ booth, to give a thumbs up and waited for her brother and sister to open the doors.

Before Tartaros and the obliteration of the Black Moon Court as she knew it, Fallon had been friends with Lily. Lily was sweet, kind, and very lovely to look at. There had even been a time where Fallon might have fancied trying to woo the girl, but all of that had been buried under the heavy weight that was the Blood Moon.
After her strange dream (or was it a hallucination?) with Eirene in her bedroom, Fallon had not felt… right. In fact, she hadn’t planned on coming to Lily’s party at all, and were it not for a stern suggestion from Eilian to “take a break and start fresh tomorrow,” she would probably still be sitting in her mother’s empty condo sketching out new battle formations for battles yet-to-be fought. Fallon was a planner. She had formations ready to be taught to Mercs and Cadets in the event of invasion from unknown celestial factions of every shape, size, and color. Some might call her thorough; others would say crazy.
That night, Fallon wore a simple cocktail dress in a lavender hue. It had a sweetheart neckline and a silver belt that sat high on her waist. Her hair was swept up in a sleek ponytail, and she held only a small silver box containing a silver bracelet. The bracelet was a musical staff, and the notes on it, when sang, were the chorus of ‘Happy Birthday.’ Knowing Lily’s penchant for music, she thought it was appropriate.
Stepping inside, the teenager passed the gift off to one of the attendants by the door and then surveyed the room, waiting to see a familiar face and wondering all the while if she shouldn’t be off somewhere else doing important work for the Blood Moon. And quietly… she worried if Lily would be happy to see her. Their friendship had run cold in the past few months – entirely because of Fallon’s negligence. Would her old friend hold it against her? More importantly… did she even care? Fallon was more concerned with being Ares nowadays; her civilian life had begun to feel meaningless.
But here she was.

As for the DJ himself, he had arrived a long time ago, to set up his equipment, and it would be a lie to say he wasn't a little bit nervous.
This was his first time performing for an event, and there was a deep ball of stress right at the bottom of Xavier's gut, the fear that he was going to screw up. What if he didn't play the right song at the right time ? What if people thought he was boring ?
Calm. Breathe. Breathe...
It also didn't help that he wasn't used to dress up anything remotely fancy - once again he had to raid his father's wardrobe, though this one turtleneck was more fitting than the one that he'd worn for Tallulah's birthday party.
Xavier looked over his disks, looked over his tables, his laptop, his connection, every little thing that would involve just not thinking about what he would need to do not too long for now.
It wasn't long before another girl came in, and strugged off her coat at the entrance. Had it not been for the carefully made updo of her purple hair, her light touch of makeup, and the lovely red dress she wore, Ashley would have probably looked much younger than she actually was, thanks to her height. Even dolled up as she was, she looked not a day older than the 16 years old that she was.
She'd met Lily at the skating rink, then on and off at school, but still, the invitation had taken her by surprise. Though... she might as well attend, right ?
Choosing the right gift had been a bit of a challenge - she knew Lily liked music, but not what cd she had or had not, and offering a duplicate was downright embarrassing, so instead she opted for an interesting piece of jewelry she'd found while shopping with one of her closer friends.
Offering the wrapped present to the attendant, it was Ashley's turn to step inside.

Lily grinned at cousin as the door opened. She gave him another thumbs up knowing he would do just fine before turning to see if she recognized any off the guests in attendance. Her heart leapt when she saw Fallon walk into the ballroom. When was the last time she saw the girl or even talked to the girl? Suddenlu she felt very guilty, but that didn't keep her from waving and making her way straight toward the girl.
She stood before for a moment, feeling completely unsure before saying hi and giving her a big hug.
"Its been a long time Fallon. I bet we have so much to catch up on." Lily grinned feeling very happy. It was a nice surprise to see Fallon.
Out of the corner of her eye she saw Ashley and her smile grew larger. Oh the excitement, she would have catch the girl later, but now she wanted to talk to Fallon.
"You look lovely. How have you been? I'm really sorry I haven't kept in touch. Senior year, AP classes, college prep," she jumbled off her usual excuse.

Ariel was a little embarrassed, her mother got the invitation for this birthday but because she thought her daughter needed more friends and that she was too old for parties she send her as a representative. Ariel mother was a famous violinist and so it looked like she still received invitation from people in the same field. She tried to dress up correctly, with a green dress and heels but because she was not used to it her face looked like she was angry while she was actually just shy.
Ok, calm down, she thought for herself, don’t scare people from the start. People usually thought she was cold as an iceberg, pretty funny actually for the senshi of candles. She entered the place, lots of people was already here. She quickly spotted Xavier, she had never met him again, just mailed. But looked like he was busy and the first things was to congratulate today’s star and wished her a happy birthday. She was looking at who it could be, because actually she had no idea.

Fallon smiled, but it was small, muted. "I wouldn't miss your birthday," she said. It wasn't precisely true. It was just the kind of thing one said to a friend. If Fallon knew that Lily was the same as Cadet Maia, she would have reacted much differently. "I hope you like your present." A hand lifted to gesture toward where she had passed it off.
Gift-giving had always been fun for Fallon, but she far preferred the process leading up to it than actually watch someone open it. Though she had made it here that night, she didn't intend to stay for too long. It was a break, not a vacation.
One hand touched at her dress when Lily complimented it. "Oh, thanks. I've been good." A lie. "Very good." A bigger lie. "Don't worry about it. I've been busy too." Just not with senior year, AP classes, or college prep. Fallon was a little more preoccupied with war, bloodshed, and ultimate victory.
There was a lull in the conversation, and Fallon jumped to fill it. "Don't let me hog you -- we have plenty of time to catch up." Wow, the lies just kept on coming. "You should go say hello to your other friends." With a polite smile and head nod, Fallon darted off to a corner of the room to help herself to a drink instead.

Lily smiled looking to the gift table, which she didn't much care for, but didn't voice said opinion. "I am sure I will love it, you really did not have to get me anything."
As Fallon spoke she of course listened, but her smile slowly turned into a frown as she noticed something was wrong. Then with a break in the conversation Fallon darted off leaving a frowning Lily in her wake. She turned and walked off feeling bad wondering why Fallon seemed so different. Did she do something wrong? She was sure she hadn't and and felt her irritation blossom slight. She sighed remembering it was her birthday party and she was suppose to be happy.
Spotting Ashley again she made her way over trying and failing at giving a proper smile. "Hey Ashley," she said softly.

Ashley hadn't really been keeping attention at the conversation in between LIly and Fallon - and just as she left the drink table, the other girl went right for her, which put her straight in the redhead's path.
"Lily ! Hi !" She chirped, letting her drink down on the nearby table to she could give the birthday girl a friendly hug. "Happy birthday ! Im glad you thought to invite me, that was really nice of you !"

Ariel was walkign around listening to people. She knew the girls name was Lily. So she tried to know who it was. Then she heard a girl calling that name toward a redhead's girl.
So I guess it is her she thought, and walked toward the place where the birthday girl was standing, waiting for the good moment to congratulate her

Get it together, Fallon coached herself. Her hand reached out to grab a cup of punch. She sipped at the edge, eyes glassy. The girl felt a lot of guilt at seeing the friend who she had ignored for so long. Lily was a complete sweetheart. When Fallon was trapped in Tartaros, Lily had brought her gifts, sat with her, kept an eye out. There were other friends who had not gone to such lengths. Lily deserved better than what Fallon had given her, and the truth was... Fallon didn't think she would ever be able to be the kind of friend that Lily was to her.
More and more, she was thinking this might have been a bad idea. It was hard for Fallon to think of anything that didn't involve her senshi life or the Blood Moon Court. When she had first adopted the soul of Ares within her, she had felt the pull (then towards the parallel court), but ever since the events of Tartaros, that pulsating urge to henshin into her powered alter-ego had become overwhelming. Even now, her fingertips trembled at the thought.
Punch in hand, Fallon crossed back into listening range of the other guests. She waited off to the side. There was another girl who she did not recognize, and in that moment, Fallon considered that a good thing. "Waiting to say hello to Lily?" she asked, sipping at her cup. "I'm Fallon. I don't think we've met." At this rate, Fallon doubted she would stay long enough to even see the cake get cut.

Lily smiled hugging her new friend and smiling. She pushed the depressing thoughts away and grinned. Tonight was her birthday and nothing could ruin it. She was going to dance and sing and enjoy the night and at the end invite a few friend to sleep upstairs with her in the suite like a big sleepover.
"It was noth Ashley. You are fun to hang out with and of course 8 would want you hear. After my siblings sprung the party on my I made sure they had invited all my friends. Thats includes you Ashley. Thank you for coming."
Lily smiiled at her cousin as the music thrummed through the room and she found she really wanted to dance, but she also saw there was another girl waiting to talk to her. Then Fallon was talking to the girl and Lily figured she could talk to her once the sung was over or the girl could even dance to and they all could talk.
Lile looked to Ahsley than to the dancing area and grinned. "Dance with me would you? I think I really need to dance." Looking to Fallon and the other girl who looked oddly familiar she said, "you guys dance too, maybe we can get everyone out of the dance floor," before turning to Ashley once more and waiting for an answer.

Oh. Dancing. Yes.
While Fallon had studied both ballet and ballroom dance at various intervals of her life, she was not what one might call pro-dancing. The idea of going to a nightclub made her skin crawl. The sheer thought of someone rubbing up against her without some kind of proper invitation forced the bile to rise in her throat. There was a time back in France where the neighbor boy had come up behind Fallon at a neighborhood block party to try and force her to swing dance with him. His reward had been a plate of cheesecake dumped on his head and a rather startled Fallon murmuring at him about manners.
So when Lily called everyone to start dancing, the cinnamon-haired teenager was forced to swallow down the lump in her throat and try to look natural. "Lily wants us to dance," she said to the girl in front of her. "It is her birthday... so." Fallon set her cup of punch down on a nearby table, nodded to Ariel, and then followed the redheaded birthday girl to the center of the floor.
"Please understand that me agreeing to dance is part of your gift," Fallon said to Lily with a tight smile. The music swelled, and she began to sway side to side, her feet planted in place. A moment longer and she began doing a little side-to-side step. Her lips kept moving. Was she counting beats?

Lily didn't need to ask her twice.
She all but grapped the redhead's hands and zoomed toward the dancefloor, her style way more... well, urban and club-like than Fallon's.
Clearly, at least one of them was having fun !
They were dancing. That was a good sign, right ?
Damnit, why was he so damn nervous ?! Xavier couldn't really hear anything over the music, and so he just slid on his headphones to mix correctly.

Ariel almost didn't get the time to reply to the girl who came to her. She was already back on the dancefloor. Well I think I can go too, I will not stay here.
Then she decided to join the group dancing too, even if she didn't know them.
"Happy Birthday" she said to Lily when she was closed enough to be heard above the music.

The music churned and swelled, but Fallon's heart wasn't in it. She bopped from side-to-side like a chaperone at a school dance, not the vivacious 17-year-old that girls her age were expected to be. After a few songs, the smile that the girl tried to hold in place began to falter. Her mind was off somewhere else, thinking of the warehouse meeting -- the one everyone had been whispering about.
The Blood Moon Court had no formal plans to attend. There had been many senshi meetings like this in the past, meetings held by rulers who Ares could care less for -- and then, of course, the one where her own Queen had spoken, her last public act before her death. The thought brought a sour taste to Fallon's mouth.
By letting herself ruminate on the meeting that night, Fallon had inadvertantly flipped her mental switch. She was no longer thinking about Lily, her birthday, or school. Her mind was abuzz with battles, political intrigue, and wars yet to be won. She stopped dancing suddenly, eyes apologetic when they met Lily's.
"Lily," she said, closing the gap between them. "This is terribly rude, and I am very sorry -- but I am afraid I'm not feeling too well. I think I should go." A hand fussed with a stray piece of hair in front of her ear. "I hope you enjoy my present. We'll catch up soon, yes?" Fallon offered a smile, but she was already backpedalling toward the door, pulling away from all the civilians in the room.
"Nice meeting you all."
And then she was gone.
