Octopus sat waiting impatiently for his students, tentacles quirked thoughtfully as the children entered the room, watching with round eyes as they sat down, he soon lost patience with their dawdling. "Sit down, ignorant younglings, you are here to learn, so don't act like a flock of unruly goslings. Sit!"
As class begins, he indicates for everyone to turn to open their textbooks. "Now. I want each of you to fetch a partner, and spend the class period talking between yourselves, and together, pick a piece of art that you particularly appreciate. Write down why, preferably in paragraph form, and hand in your explanation by the end of class period." And with that, he leaned forward over his desk, and waited for his pupils to comply. It was perhaps an abrupt introduction, but tact had never been this professor's best subject.

Dragon had been rather excited, as well as a touch nervous, about his first class though it was hard to tell given that he seemed to always have the same sort of expression on his face. If he remained fairly neutral about things it gave people less insight into what he might really be thinking or feeling and the last thing he wanted to share was that he was nervous about something. There times though when his emotions got away from him like his meeting with Cerberus or when he saw the Butterfly girl stuck in the mud. He didn't want this to be one of those times, vowed that it wouldn't be... until he found himself and the others in the class referred to as goslings, something that made the end of his tail twitch.
He said nothing though, moving to sit down at his desk instead, pulled his text book from the messenger bag he had been carrying over one shoulder, then set it down on the ground under his seat where the bag should remain safe. The last thing he wanted was to have any of his things stolen. He was ready, at least he thought he was, for the starting of the class when the teacher seemed to catch him off guard with a rather strange order. They had to find a partner? Not only that but they had to spend the class picking a piece of art to talk about, to appreciate, and then write up an assignment... so half of his grade in this class was going to rely on another person? Unacceptable... damn it he had to find a partner that at least look as though he or she would help out in the assignment instead of slacking off!
Quickly turning to look over his shoulder he set to searching for someone that stood out from the rest of the class.

It's hard to say Panda "stood out" among a group of colorful animal and insect based children, all in different colors and at different volumes. He was chubby, he was black and white, and he was sort of lazy looking, but he'd already been in his seat when most of the class got there. This was mostly because Panda was really slow and lazy about the whole 'moving' thing so he got going pretty early in the morning to get here - stopping to get a good deal of snacks along the way.
In front of the boy, his book was already open and he was looking over the interesting pieces. It wasn't till all the milling about and griping of the teacher that he realized there was probably something he was supposed to be doing about now. "Huh? Oh...partners." He nodded and looked - and spotted a dragon boy looking his direction, mostly on the grounds that Panda was only a seat or two behind him, and Dragon was looking around.
"Hi." Panda waved, not even sure if this kid would notice him.

Dragon found himself drawn to the waving had and he starred at the one that it was attached to with his brightly colored eyes. He starred for a long moment at him, looked around the classroom, and then returned back to the black and white kid, couldn't help to think he looked a bit like a plushie, then pushed to his feet as he grabbed his things and walked over to settle down in front of him, "Your going to be my partner." He told him, might as well take this one as his partner he thought to himself. He seemed as though he would be easy enough to deal with instead of having to butt heads with the more annoying people that were out there.
His tail swished from side to side, "We will find something of Chinese descent, it makes sense after all to do it that way." He said, his type of dragon as well as panda were from the same region after all so they might as well look for a piece that was from such and area.
