So ...It's February and everyone is excited about Valentine .. .What are you guys planning to do with your Valentines. Is it celebrated in your countries? if not do you got an equivalent?
PS: It's a few years that people celebrate Valentine in Iran too. While cultural groups and Government is against it and want to replace it with an ancient Iranian holiday called " Sepandarmazgan" to pretend westernization , People still buy Love-Bears,Chocolates and other gifts for their partner. What do you think about it? Is it necessary to replace Valentine with something with a hard name?

Nothing. I'm single, and I'm probably going to stay that way for a while, and that doesn't bother me too much. I have to make a valentines card for photography, so I'll probably make it to myself, because I'm an egotistical b*****d like that. Anyway, I don't think it's necessary to do that in your country, if people are fine with having Valentine's Day, then what's the problem? It's not hurting anyone, and it would just be a name change. It wouldn't be any different, I can chew my food but that doesn't change it, but when it gets absorbed by the villi in my small intestine, that's where it changes inside.

I think sending ourselves letters is not so egotistical... It gives me pride at least... Yeah you are right... but some say it's anti-nationalistic!..and they say why we should borrow things from others while we already have...

Celebrated here, stores are filled with teddy bears since mid January. XP I'm single and not seeing anyone at the moment, don't know if it's changing this upcoming week, so I'm probably not doing anything. But Valentine's Day is great. (:
We have our own such holiday that occurs in August though, like a Jewish Valentine's Day. I kind of like it better. Summertime is the best for luvin'.

Oh ...You caan buy gift for that religious Guy .. you remember ..right?What is it called?I mean the Jewish valentine... LOL I would if he wasn't so insanely religious. LOL, I bet he's anti-Valentine's and thinks it has some actual religious meanings, like those who are anti-Santa Claus because Christmas is ALL about Jesus. It's Tu B'av (Av 15th). It's the date it's in, there's no other name, sometimes people just call it that or "Hag Ha'ahava" (Holiday of Love).. Kind of a minor holiday but it's actually my favorite. One more thing I like about it is that it always occurs on a full moon. Summer night, full moon, it's perfect. ^^ Wikiepdia According to the Talmud, Tu B'Av was a joyous holiday in the days of the Temple in Jerusalem, marking the beginning of the grape harvest. Yom Kippur marked the end of the grape harvest. On both dates, the unmarried girls of Jerusalem would dress in white garments and go out to dance in the vineyards. (Babylonian Talmud, tractate Ta'anit 30b-31a) *Shrug*
