xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxThe last important thing of note is the Shofar - it is a horn made from a ram's horn, painstakingly done by hand so as to assure its perfection. It can be long or short, thin or thick; it truly depends on the area in which the Shofar is meant to be played. The Emes prefer the long, elegant Shofar (and, as such, the one Chayele was made from), while the Orthodoxy prefer the, simpler to make, thick, deeper insturments. The Emes want and need only the best; as such, they prefer the longer, more elegant, and more expensively decorated Shofars over anything else. They produce a higher, more magical sound, rather than the lower, but realistic, sound of the thicker, shorter Shofar. There are meanings, of course, but the true importance of the Shofar is its effect on Chayele.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxThough the girl doesn't realise it, her usage in Emes churches has instilled in her, soul deep. She doesn't realise that she thinks this, but she too believes in their ideals of each positive receives and equal negative; it is why she is a quietus, a phasmas, a being of unity, of the in-between; she could not, even before her coming to be as a cognizant being, be too far negative or too far positive, lest she bring something equal to that into the world's scene, much as Kodesh begot Beyz. Long ago, sitting in a church, usually unplayed but so rich and smooth when it was her turn to join the orchestra, the beliefs became ingrained in her just as much as the jewels and gold patterns decorating her surface were.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxChayele, as a Shofar, was their pride and joy; rich, thin, and even swirling in an aesthetically pleasing way, she was what they'd spent their money on - not only to make, but to decorate. As a permanent fixture in a small Ecaran town, whose name has been lost to the times, in the only Shil there and as Kodesh's instrument, they allowed no harm to come to the item. As little heat they could, no moisture, no dropping, no dirty, smudging hands; she was polished regularly and the expensive, shiny gems on her surface painstakingly cared for. Perhaps because of the lack of Emunists in that small town, a reyn - an individual purified in several different ways before even beginning to be allowed to approach something as holy as the Shofar - did not care for her. Instead, a Khazal did, singing to her as she buffed and polished any imperfections, any blemishes, away. No words were ever spoken from the Khazal to Chayele because no words ever were needed; the men talked around her, to her, to the horn itself, but not the Khazal. There was only music, a mutual language the two of them, one of them but a mere part of a living animal and nowhere near alive at that point, shared. When the Khazal that cared for her died, she was shifted around uncomfortably. The Shofar could not be left to gather dust and taint from Beyz; someone would have to clean her, but no one was there to do it. Gradually, the small Emunist base died off - there weren't enough to sustain their numbers. The Shofar was shipped, by the town, to a nearby Orthodox church that happened to be thriving, but they wanted nothing to do with the thin, long instrument - by virtue of her size, they decided to sell the ornately decorated instrument. It went well and for a rather high price; she was stored and returned to Panymium, where Emunism was virtually unknown (since her arrival, however, it has grown if ever so slightly) and was treated as an instrument to be valued - and, at that time, she was! But over the years, her sound soured as she was improperly cared for; her sweet, dulcet notes became rougher and more twisted, varying rather quickly from sharp to flat with little to no indication as to why. The growing religious base that used her to help them celebrate sold her, yet again, pretending as though she worked properly. Perhaps because no one - not a reyn nor a Khazal - was caring for her, she grew tainted; at least, if an Emunist of true faith knew of what had become of their item, that’s what they would have said. But rather, a lofty nobleman curiously attending a service decided that the Shofar for sale was a quaintly barbaric item and quickly used his money - of which he had an abundance more than sense - to purchase it. Of course, such a man quickly found that the instrument was unsuitable and hid it away; what he didn’t find until it was too late was the plague. The Shofar, tainted and festering, was left while the young man died. His grieving parents found the item and sold it, immune to the black swells that surrounded it; when the merchant realized that he’d been stuck with an item rotting internally, he threw it as quick and as far away as he could. That is where one Dragomir Meschke comes in; returning home, exhausted, one day from work, he happened upon a shiny thing. A rather unfortunate habit, Dragomir enjoyed collecting things to clutter his house up as long as they were pretty - despite the seeping blackness, which he attributed to the gutter it was in, not the item itself - and took it home. The work left a strong smell of death and blood in his nose; he’d cut himself rather severely that day and had bandaged it himself while hoping no one looked; the smell was too pungent to allow the further rot and stench of death in from the Shofar. He took it home; no one but him, no one but one who would not smell it, would have wanted it anyway.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxChayele does not talk. At first, when she had first appeared, an excito for Dragomir's pleasure, she could understand Panymese, but had difficulties speaking it. Ever one to please, she had not spoken to him - she had kept quiet out of nerves and fear. Dragomir had assumed she could not speak and set upon her with a strange ferocity and an almost demented pleasure in her pain and frustration. In short order, Chayele's difficulties speaking progressed into a perceived impossibility; physiologically speaking, Chayele is more than capable of speaking. Her only block is a mental one - but significant nonetheless. Because she can't speak and can't write or read Panymese and because she has no organs with which to inspect to assure her that her small body is not broken, her mental block has, as of yet, gone unaddressed.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxDragomir has two personalities - the one that the world sees, and the hidden one, that only Chayele completely knows in blunt terms instead of flashes at inopportune times like everyone else.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxHis chosen persona is that of a fearful, simpering worker. Everything makes him flinch, he hardly speaks above a whisper, and his hands constantly tremble in overwhelming fear. This is the form that everyone sees, the Dragomir everyone is allowed to believe. He never shows anymore of his face than he has to and every answer is punctuated by some honorific, usually just "sir" or "madam". He finds it's useful; people are suckered by the "teen" wearing big clothes, quietly murmuring compliments and practically begging not to be hit for whatever conceivable reason.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxThe real Dragomir, on the other hand, is a much nastier thing. He's conniving, verbally abusive, and snarky. Nothing and no one is ever good enough for him; he constantly enjoys making people miserable in subtle, non-verbal ways, especially if they're more powerful than he is. However, the real Dragomir is also a man with a tongue made of silver, another penchant for getting out of situations that seem dangerous - possible because of his equal propensity for getting into them. He enjoys pushing the line, seeing how far he can go before he crosses it, and how well he can backtrack in order to not be hurt for any reason.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxHis fear of pain is thusly explained as not a fear perse, but rather an avoidance to a clearly unreasonable level, almost a phobia. Even small scratches and bruises are to be avoided as best he can and he seems to be overly sensitive to pain, so much so that he would genuinely beg to avoid it. He doesn't know why, then, he enjoys threatening people who could beat him into something hardly human with one finger, but he does; perhaps it's the knowledge that, despite their great physically prowess, he is still superior in some way, that being wit and intelligence.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxOf course, it's not impossible to garner respect from Dragomir; being more intelligent than him or being in power for reasons of intelligence and not brute strength or lineage is a surefire and easy way to gain the small man's affections and respect. In the same aspect, women that can handle themselves also have his good will, as they have proven themselves to be equal to men without one, something society still did not think them entirely possible of. It doesn't mean he likes them, however; it's completely likely he doesn't. He just doesn't dislike them as much as everyone else.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxDragomir is young looking - he looks to be about five or six years younger than he actually is. His eyes are a dark navy blue, wide-eyed and heavy lidded - the dark colour of his eyes makes it look like his pupils are eternally huge, giving him an afraid, childish look. He's not unfamiliar with being so afraid that even his eyes shake - it actually happens pretty often. He's a bit too thin to be good at much, but he's pretty - that's for sure. It's not, however, as though he knows it.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxHis what might be classified as "cute" or "baby-ish" face is marred by a perpetual frown or grimace on pink lips, however, and this is what sometimes elevates him from a wayward teen to the definite adult that he is; the look of contempt he can often be glanced wearing is not that of a rebellious teenager, but of a adult that's weary for some unknown reason.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxHe's thin and he knows that's bad; he always seems to wear clothes that are several sizes too big to give him at least some appearance of bulk (though it usually serves as the opposite; making his skinniness into more of a focal point as the clothes droop and hang over in folds). It's not uncommon that he simply guesses which pants will fit how and thusly sometimes loses them while stalking around the house, falling to his ankles and tripping him spectacularly (much to Chayele's future amusement), leaving him floundering. Of course, because of this, he's also ended up with several beautifully, brightly coloured bruises, and often has anywhere from one to ten littering the entirety of his body.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxHe's got a snubbed nose, which only helps with the problems his personality presents; in fact, his entire carriage is perhaps bordering on pompous or holier than thou despite the lowered eyes and fear that constantly wracks his body; despite his penchant for fear, it's absolutely not debatable that he believes himself in some way to be superior from most of the people that he sees in daily life, even if he knows it is not strength or force.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxGoing with the idea that his family is Auvinians, despite Dragomir always protesting that he's Imisese, he was raised to respect and worship with the House of Obscuvos. It's always been kept sort of hush hush; though his parents were proud to serve their Lord Obscuvos, especially in the spread of the plague and its devestation, Dragomir was always told never to talk about it in public, only in private, when only his parents were around. Forcing could only go so far, however, and Dragomir had no desire to worship Obscuvos as his parents did - but he had no choice, and still finds himself falling in line with the cultists, owning his bird mask, as per the cult's mandates. And, when he goes, he wears it, and he pretends to enjoy it, being as accepting as Obscuvos as everyone else there is.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxDragomir was born to working immigrant parents in Imisus. They were poor, but happy, and Dragomir too was happy, as long as their religion was never to be mentioned. From a young age, he was forced to toddle along behind his parents, observing the Obscuvos first hand from easily scared, bright eyes (which, coincidentally, he definitely still has). He grew up learning that the strong get what they want and the physically weak and intelligent are used to further their own means. He also grew up learning that he just seemed to be ... naturally intelligent, or quick to pick things up, and was often mocked by bigger kids for his miscellaneous knowledge.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxHe was originally a good natured kid - quiet, somewhat vicious when provoked, but good natured. Nothing else of real note happened; his parents died, he grieved and moved on, and has since continued with his life. No one, not even Dragomir, can pinpoint the change from generally good meaning to cold, but it happened at some point and it's how he is now; not that he questions it - he rather likes himself.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxEmunism is about as old as Lucianism - and though the two have greatly differing ideas on who is correct (for obvious reasons), they have always been close.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxIn the beginning, there was Kodesh. Everything came from Kodesh - evil, good, the land, the sea, and everything on it. When Kodesh grew bored with the creatures, He created humans, and He created them in his image. From there, it becomes unclear. Two sects of Emunism derive from here - Orthodox and Emes (a word meaning truth). Those who still practice Orthodox Emunism believe that Beyz came from Kodesh Himself, as a type of enemy, something to interest Him now that the people were created and on their own. The Emes Emunists (perhaps craftily named for the alliteration - perhaps just because it was easy to remember so long ago) believe that all actions incur a response of equal, but opposite on the scale of moralism, which is qualitative rather than quantitative, and thus Kodesh created Beyz but in a much different sense than the Orthodoxy believes. The Orthodoxy believes that Kodesh, as the main God, created Beyz in His likeness, but far lesser - the Emes believe that through His Goodness (hereafter referred to with the Emunist word, 'glik') in created the world, a creation of equal Badness (or, rather "shlimazl") was made - that creation being Beyz.
It is thus that the Orthodoxy believes that Kodesh and Beyz are in a war in which Kodesh does not use His entire glik, in fear of vanquishing His foe and said foe's shlimazl, but in which Kodesh uses just enough to keep Beyz at bay, especially after allowing the lesser being His few wins before striking Him back from Kodesh's land and Kodesh's people.
At the same time, the Emes believe that Kodesh is using His entire glik and Beyz, his complete shlimazl - and that each time one uses their abilities, their opponent gains in strength and so are in a never-ending battle for the, for lack of a less dramatic term, fate of the world. The Emes have been gaining followers in the past decade or so - with the emergence of the plague, the Emes are backed that this is an act of Beyz; and, they challenge the members of the orthodoxy, if Kodesh is so superior to Beyz in every way, why does He allow His people to die like dogs, en masse? Where do the Plagues come from, the evil things they are, but as physical formations of Beyz. But they also believe that Kodesh is preparing to strike the plague back from the land as soon as his glik will allow it and that the Plagues known as Locos have been reclaimed by Kodesh. The Orthodoxy claim that the plague is simply a test and that Kodesh wants to see whether or not His people are deserving of being saved. It is for this reason that the Orthodoxy is the stronger of the two faiths despite a huge loss in membership following the announcement of Emes ideas; the remaining members are banded together, tightly knit, determined to show Kodesh that they are indeed worth saving.

The Emunists both celebrate in temples, called Shil. These Shil are sacred to the Emunists and no fremders - no outsiders - are let into them. Furthermore, the Emunists are so established in Ecara that they are not simply a religion - no, they are a race. Those with an Emunist mother are considered to be Emunist not in faith but also in heritage. Though it is impossible to become Emunist in heritage, becoming a religious Emunist is not so difficult - they require only the most basic of oaths to Kodesh: for the Orthodox, the repetition of the Five Principles; for the Emes, potential Emunists must be able to renumerate the 3 wins of Beyz and the inaction of Kodesh.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx THE FIVE PRINCIPLES:
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 1. Kodesh created the world out of His glik and He has the power to end it if He so desires.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxThe Emunists have a strict moral and religious code that all who celebrate must live by in order to remain mitglid - a member of the Emunist church - in the Shil, during service, the male Emunists must wear a prayer shawl to cover themselves, to remain clean no matter what has happened, and to make themselves presentable to Kodesh, if He is watching. They too have tzitzit - or tassles, from the bottom of their shawl - but when it appears depends on the sect. The Orthodox Emunists attach them after becoming a man (see Holiday section), while the Emes Emunists wear them solely after getting married. A yarmulke is also expected, to cover the hair from crown to back of head - only the men wear these as well.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxA mainly masculine society, the Emunists depend on their men while women are expected - if not required - to be homemakers and baby producers. The women are respected for their own rights and intelligence - they are not considered legal property of their husband, but their rights also depend on the type. Orthodoxy regard women as equal to men in almost every way, save physical prowess and some mental acuity. It is for this reason that Orthodox Emunist women are allowed to own small holdings of property (no more than their house) if their husbands were to pass, and for this reason that women are educated if they are in the rare position where some form of education (usually just by a husband or father) is available. Emes women are less lucky; considered the shlimazl to men's glik and only tamed by continual exertion of the men's glik on them, they are watched carefully as though it were simply in their blood for them to become a traitor for any reason at all. It is for this reason that education is withheld from women and they are required to raise children as best they can - Khazal (specially trained women that give their everything to Emunism and repeatedly prove their devotion) watch them carefully, especially the coveted male children, to make sure that they are being raised properly and not being corrupted by the woman's shlimazl.

Rosh ha-Shanah is one of the most known even outside of the Emunist culture; it is the celebration of the day Koresh created the world and occurs on the first day of the seventh month (which is the meaning of Rosh ha-Shanah) of the Emunist calendar (which predates the Profugian calendar), known as Tishri.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxPassover - From the 3rd day of Nisan to the 10th day of Nisan. It celebrates the exodus of the Emunist from their scattered positions all throughout Ecara, where they suffered prejudice from many Ecarans, to their own corner of the continent, where they built Tsuersht. A pilgrimage holiday, Emunists often went on a pilgrimage called Aheym - homeward. Ecaran Emunists still tend to do this if they have at all traveled from Khayes, or Life, the name of their homeland.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxEighteenth of Iyar - A rather morose holiday, this holiday commemorates the day that Tsuersht fell. This day has two different interpretations, depending on which sect of Emunists are looking at it; the Emes view it as the first win of Beyz and therefore important on its own - the Orthodox view it as the day the Emunists sinned and Kodesh struck them down for their impudence. Either way, this is not a pleasant holiday, and there is little celebration; this is the first holiday in the year in which the Shofar is played, it is a morose, sorrowful, short sound, played on its own with no other musical assistance, as it usually is played. The mourning lasts a week, and on the actual 18th (or 19th, depending on the year itself), there is a day of fasting from the sunset on he 17th (the end of the day for Emunists) to the sunset on the 18th.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxShavuot - The 68th day after Passover. A joyous holiday, much appreciated after the Twenty-Fifth of Iyar, it is a holiday that celebrates the day the original Megile was given to the Emunist people by Kodesh. Though it is tinged with sadness at the loss, both the Emes and the Orthodox agree that it is better to focus on the positive here: Kodesh loved them so that He gave them His story and a guide to teach them how to live their lives and please Him all the more. The Shofar is played here along with all the instruments traditionally played during a service at the Shil; it is a celebration but also a day of studying the remakes of the Megile, painstakingly hand-written. They eat but they also spend all night in the Shil if they can, reading, celebrating, and decorating with the spring greenery.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSukkot - Another pilgrimage holiday at its beginning, it is no longer as such; instead, Emunists construct a small hut, called a Sukkah, in which they live for a week, taking their meals and even sleeping. If it rains, it is said that Kodesh frowned upon their celebration and did not find it suiting to him, and so spit in their faces, telling them to go back inside. If it is not comfortable or physically impossible to remain outside, the Emunists are allowed to return in doors to sleep but often relax in the Sukkah. The end of the Holy Week of Sukkot is punctuated by a trip to the Shil, where the instruments are played, including the Shofar, and the Megile is read from.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxRosh ha-Shanah - the new year to the Emunist people. They feast in the Shil, eating symbolic foods to their people (though this tends to change depending on individual interpretation), and the Shofar is played most joyously - Rosh ha-Shanah doubles as the remembrance of the blowing horn, after all. No Emunist can, for any reason, work on Rosh ha-Shanah; it is expressly forbidden in the Megile; they can only celebrate the year that is coming by relaxing and spending time with the community in the Shil.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxYom Kippur - this is a day just generally devoted to the lamenting of the appearance of Beyz. The Emes feel as though they are lamenting not because of his appearance but because of Kodesh's inability to combat and destroy him for all eternity, thus saving His people from Beyz's dark clutches. The Orthodox feel that it is proof that Emunists displease Kodesh and that his creation of Beyz was a diversion as well as a lack of faith in people, finding them so boring He could spare no more attention on them. A 25 hour fast, it is not uncommon for the people, returning to the Shil for so morose event just after so joyous an event (Yom Kippur is always 9 days after the first day of Rosh ha-Shanah), for the people to enter hysterics, though always quietly, as they lament their sins and beg Kodesh to forgive them and do His best in saving them from Beyz - at least, the Orthodox do; the Emes lament how good Kodesh is to have incurred all that shlimazl to create Beyz on accident. In contrast to a normal service, which has three prayers, Yom Kippur has five prayers that all must participate in; on top of this, there is also no work but no relaxation - there is no allowance for any kind of physical pleasure while the Emunists beg for forgiveness or understanding. After Yom Kippur, the Orthodox understand that their souls have been cleansed and their souls forgiven.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxFourth of Tevet - a minor fast day; in the Megile, this day is written "the fourth," and so it is not moved no matter what, so even on Shabbat, the Fourth of Tevet is recognized. It is a minor fast day, mourning the loss of Kodesh's interest in the human race as a whole, thus leading to the creation of Beyz to the destruction of the world, whether it from the Emes or the Orthodox.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxTu Bishvat - the day of the trees. In ancient times and still in Khayes, this was the day that the Emunists counted the fruit and harvest from the trees and crops and prepared for the tithes for the following year; it was some years an exciting day, some years a depressing one. It depended on how well the harvest went as to how people processed it; on good years, the people held a party to celebrate their joy on the good harvest and, though the high tithes, and on bad years they drank themselves into oblivion to forget the pain that they felt at their lack of food and soon to be less, thanks to the tithe.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxPurim - a day of celebration that recognizes how the people escaped from destruction from their fellow Ecarans by their prophet, whose name has now been lost to the times. From then on the day that they remember as the anniversary of the day of their salvation, they celebrate; they go to the Shil to hear stories of their miraculous saviour though they do not know his name. They all re-enact it as well along with feast; it's an incredibly pleasant day for all, with no unhappiness to be found anywhere.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxThe last important thing of note is the Shofar - it is a horn made from a ram's horn, painstakingly done by hand so as to assure its perfection. It can be long or short, thin or thick; it truly depends on the area in which the Shofar is meant to be played. The Emes prefer the long, elegant Shofar (and, as such, the one Chayele was made from), while the Orthodoxy prefer the, simpler to make, thick, deeper insturments. The Emes want and need only the best; as such, they prefer the longer, more elegant, and more expensively decorated Shofars over anything else. They produce a higher, more magical sound, rather than the lower, but realistic, sound of the thicker, shorter Shofar. There are meanings, of course, but the true importance of the Shofar is its effect on Chayele.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxThough the girl doesn't realise it, her usage in Emes churches has instilled in her, soul deep. She doesn't realise that she thinks this, but she too believes in their ideals of each positive receives and equal negative; it is why she is a quietus, a phasmas, a being of unity, of the in-between; she could not, even before her coming to be as a cognizant being, be too far negative or too far positive, lest she bring something equal to that into the world's scene, much as Kodesh begot Beyz. Long ago, sitting in a church, usually unplayed but so rich and smooth when it was her turn to join the orchestra, the beliefs became ingrained in her just as much as the jewels and gold patterns decorating her surface were.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxChayele, as a Shofar, was their pride and joy; rich, thin, and even swirling in an aesthetically pleasing way, she was what they'd spent their money on - not only to make, but to decorate. As a permanent fixture in a small Ecaran town, whose name has been lost to the times, in the only Shil there and as Kodesh's instrument, they allowed no harm to come to the item. As little heat they could, no moisture, no dropping, no dirty, smudging hands; she was polished regularly and the expensive, shiny gems on her surface painstakingly cared for. Perhaps because of the lack of Emunists in that small town, a reyn - an individual purified in several different ways before even beginning to be allowed to approach something as holy as the Shofar - did not care for her. Instead, a Khazal did, singing to her as she buffed and polished any imperfections, any blemishes, away. No words were ever spoken from the Khazal to Chayele because no words ever were needed; the men talked around her, to her, to the horn itself, but not the Khazal. There was only music, a mutual language the two of them, one of them but a mere part of a living animal and nowhere near alive at that point, shared. When the Khazal that cared for her died, she was shifted around uncomfortably. The Shofar could not be left to gather dust and taint from Beyz; someone would have to clean her, but no one was there to do it. Gradually, the small Emunist base died off - there weren't enough to sustain their numbers. The Shofar was shipped, by the town, to a nearby Orthodox church that happened to be thriving, but they wanted nothing to do with the thin, long instrument - by virtue of her size, they decided to sell the ornately decorated instrument. It went well and for a rather high price; she was stored and returned to Panymium, where Emunism was virtually unknown (since her arrival, however, it has grown if ever so slightly) and was treated as an instrument to be valued - and, at that time, she was! But over the years, her sound soured as she was improperly cared for; her sweet, dulcet notes became rougher and more twisted, varying rather quickly from sharp to flat with little to no indication as to why. The growing religious base that used her to help them celebrate sold her, yet again, pretending as though she worked properly. Perhaps because no one - not a reyn nor a Khazal - was caring for her, she grew tainted; at least, if an Emunist of true faith knew of what had become of their item, that’s what they would have said. But rather, a lofty nobleman curiously attending a service decided that the Shofar for sale was a quaintly barbaric item and quickly used his money - of which he had an abundance more than sense - to purchase it. Of course, such a man quickly found that the instrument was unsuitable and hid it away; what he didn’t find until it was too late was the plague. The Shofar, tainted and festering, was left while the young man died. His grieving parents found the item and sold it, immune to the black swells that surrounded it; when the merchant realized that he’d been stuck with an item rotting internally, he threw it as quick and as far away as he could. That is where one Dragomir Meschke comes in; returning home, exhausted, one day from work, he happened upon a shiny thing. A rather unfortunate habit, Dragomir enjoyed collecting things to clutter his house up as long as they were pretty - despite the seeping blackness, which he attributed to the gutter it was in, not the item itself - and took it home. The work left a strong smell of death and blood in his nose; he’d cut himself rather severely that day and had bandaged it himself while hoping no one looked; the smell was too pungent to allow the further rot and stench of death in from the Shofar. He took it home; no one but him, no one but one who would not smell it, would have wanted it anyway.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxEmunism in the Modern Profugus !
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxBekl used to be a derogatory name for an offshoot of the already speared off Emes. It used to be a term for a small offshoot of Emunism that was not at all respected by any of the sects, not even its mother-derivative. Now, however, it is the main base of Panymium's Emunist population (which, still, is not big). There are small churches scattered everywhere, wherever they can fit in - they're rather hardy Emunists, at least, keeping that tenacity and stubbornness from their original culture. Off of the Emes, they're just a group that's more specialised around the Plague; since they live with it, they're more accustomed to it and their view has accordingly changed. Bekl Emunists see the plagues as conflictingly weapons of Kodesh and Beyz - they collect them, but members who become companions of openly evil, vicious Plagues are no longer welcome.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxAhinter is the only name that any other sect of Emunism will ever call the Daytlekh Emunists. Ahinter is a splinter of the Orthodox church and believes that there is indeed a strong and a weak god, notably so, and that this never changes -- the Daytlekh just believe that Beyz and Kodesh are reversed. These too are a result of the plague and so don't understand how any truly dominant power could ever allow His worshipers to come to this, unless He planned it this way and is truly devious -- which is not at all the sign of Kodesh, simply Beyz. That's where Ahinter, the name that even Bekl call the Daytlekh, comes from... The Emunist word for "Backwards". The Daytlekh believe that if anyone is backwards, it’s the Bekl - and so, despite sharing a small continent, these two war furiously whenever they clash. Fortunately, their populations are so small that they don’t meet often.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxEmes Emunists and Orthodox Emunists are rarely found in Panymium and stay mostly in Ecara where they’re most comfortable and have a sizable population of worshipers. On the occasion that an Emes or an Orthodox Emunist flees to Panymium, it’s likely that an Orthodox will refuse the Daytlekh and worship silently in the depths of their heart while Emes Emunists can fit in easily with the Bekl, though the Plagues running around might unnerve them.
