For a moment, when Jianyu called him little boy, a flash of red hot anger, the kind that Sakn was known for, flashed through the boy's eyes, but in a second it was replaced by the unnatural cold brutality he had adopted as of late.

He only sneered at the comment, in the end, which was weirdest of all.

It was strange. Sakn let his eyes follow Jianyu's hand as the older man grabbed him. He watched the way his wrist twisted, the skin and muscle groaning against the uncomfortable motion. The redhead felt his breath escape him as Jianyu's palm connected with his stomach. But even as Jianyu threw him down, Sakngea never felt the pain. All he could feel the was the heat of rage building inside him like a fire, a intense numbness.

The dirt ground into Sakngea's back, pebbled pressing hard through the thick wool of his kameez. His elbow was surely throbbing from where it had cracked on the ground when Jianyu threw him down, and his dao was twisted beneath him, making it inaccessible. And how Sakn's hand itched to take out Hyun, to take his enemy down.

You have the power, now focus, sweet. Direct your energies, open yourself up to true potential, and release that upon your enemy.

Sakn's eyes snapped back to Jianyu's then, his face sharp and angry, and bared his teeth at the captain's comment, though a ripple of fear did shoot down his spine. Those words were cold, hard and true. Jianyu would do what was needed to protect himself, just as Sakn would. The redhead balked for a second, his face again breaking out of anger in exchange for confusion; uncertaint about his next move.

Do you think I would let you die, fool? Don't listen to his threats, they are only words. Let him try to back them up with action.

The confusion faded quickly then, replaced with a small creeping smile that curled on Sakn's lips as he searched Jianyu's face for something. And after a moment, it seemed he found what it was he needed to see, and the smile became violent, aggressive. As if the b*****d could do it. Hyun wouldn't let it happen, he would survive everything. He would win this!

The redhead was still grinning like a fool when his left hand slipped up to slap away Jianyu's hand as his right reached out, tangling in the captain's long hair and pulling him down into a vigorous headbutt with Sakn's own forehead. It was a dangerous first, but the fisherboy didn't care. Nothing hurt any more, everything just buzzed with energy.

It was time to fight.

Xiu gasped sharply when Sakn pushed him away. Not because of the push itself but the energy behind it, the surge of it sending Xiu reeling. His vision blotted for a moment as his body tried to understand just what had jolted through it. The power was nothing Xiu had ever felt from Sakn before. It was dark, heady…evil. Shaking his head to clear his mind, Xiu stared at Sakn, trying to understand but unable to.

The next few moments were like a blur for Xiu. One minute Sakn and Jianyu were exchanging threats and the next Sakn was on the floor, then standing once again and slamming head first into the Legion captain. Xiu was shocked to say the least and uselessly stood behind Sakn as all of this took place. His feet were like lead, rooting him to the floor so that all he could do was watch as his friend was overcome with a fiery expression Xiu had never seem before. It was like the feeling when he’d touched Sakn. The expression on his best friend’s face was terrifying, near horrified to Xiu. When had Sakn ever looked like that? And why hadn’t he, Xiu, noticed earlier?

Something was terribly wrong with the redhead, Xiu saw that now and wished Jianyu did as well. How could the Legionnaire not see that he wasn’t fighting the real Sakn? Something needed to be done!

“Will you guys cut it out!” Xiu practically shrieked, knowing that Jianyu was not his friend tonight. His eyes glanced at Yue and saw yet another unhelpful person as well. She wasn’t even trying to stop things. “Why don’t you both stop acting like children.” If he was being honest he was a little hurt by Jianyu’s words, not sure why the male was being so utterly callous.

Not knowing what else to do, Xiu shoved Sakn backwards and then made to try and do the same to Jianyu, even if he had to punch the captain in the face!

Yue was trying to peel Mister Princess off her neck when she heard the thud of Sakn falling. Everything after that was a blur. "Hime-san, not now! Go play with the rafters," Yue cried out, startling the golden lion tamarin away from her neck. He chittered at her and climbed around nearby, watching for an opening in which he could latch back on and burrow under her braid. She did stand, frozen with horror, while she watched her dear friend fight the one she loved, despite that being unrequited. It wasn't as pressing any more, at least, but that didn't change the fact that two people she cared dearly about were hurting one another. She didn't know whether to grab Sakn and pull him back, or to shield Jianyu. Jianyu didn't need to be shielded, she knew--

"Why don't you both stop acting like children." As if dragging that out from a dream, Yue heard Xiu shout. She watched Xiu go for Jianyu, and that snapped her out of indecision. She sprinted forward and tackled Xiu to the side.

"If you want to fight someone, it's gonna be me!" Yue exclaimed, livid. Two against one? She was sickened by the idea; sure, in battle against their enemies, the situation would arise often. They had no choice. But here where they were once friends... Yue saw something in Xiu's eyes, though. It looked a lot like love, a fierce desire to protect the one he cared about. And Yue understood. She didn't want to fight Xiu. She wanted to keep him occupied so he couldn't hurt Jianyu, but she didn't want to fight him. She understood why he wanted to throw himself into battle. At the same time, she knew how strong someone could be, fighting for the one they loved. It made her cringe. This would be a painful fight. Their energy would better be used trying to separate Jianyu and Sakn, but the look in Sakn's face... she didn't think he'd stop just for their trying.

Yue Lao tried to pin Xiu, but she was small and light. Strong, but her weight was not an asset in this fight.
