Optheli was exhausted, her cubs were getting bigger by the day and they made her tired so often.
The mere fact that she was laying down in the open, in the middle of the day was proof she was exhausted,
she was trying to stop from dozing off right there and then but her eyelids were so heavy, it was hard not to snooze in the heat of the day.
Moment later she was asleep, but it wasn't peaceful at all, she almost instantly dreamed of Roth.
At first it was a gentle dream, the memories of the Roth she'd fallen in love with but as the dream went on,
suddenly he'd changed, shadows sprung from beneath his paws and were creeping towards her, dragging her down.
Suddenly the scene changed and her cubs were grown, they were the image of their father but their eyes glowed
with a black light, as one they opened their mouths and lunged for her.......
Then she woke, panting hard, sweating in fear, fortunately while she knew she must have had a nightmare, she couldn't recall it.
Wearily she rose, her body sagging with her fear and exhaustion. She hadn't slept for long at all, an hour at the most.

The large red leopon was making her way through the savannah today.
She was a bit far from home to her liking but she wasnt going to be gone long.
She'd return soon, but seeing as her 'cubs' were adults now.. She had no one to really hold
her there with their constant attention. Her gray touched paws walked through the golden grasses
with ease. She was graceful, and lovely, even if she happened to be a rather large creature. She had the
bulk of a lioness, but she was alot like the leopard in other ways.
Life was good today, the sun was bright, though hot, and the savannah was clear of most anything besides the occasional

The sounds of the wind and bird calls were drowned out quickly by the sound of a cry. She perked an ear, and narrowed her eyes.

"Hello?" She called out.

Judging by the fleeing creatures from near her form, Optheli guessed she must have cried out in her nightmare,
she cringed since this meant she'd have to travel further afield if she was going to get a meal today.
She jumped as a voice called out, her first thoughts were that it was Roth and her heart beat hard in her chest,
but she realised that the voice was softer, and seemed to be slightly wary.
She peered around the termite mound that was between her and the voice. It was a large red cat,
it seemed to be built like a lioness but there were subtle differences. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath,
she lifted her head, trying to look slightly less haggard. "Hello, lovely day isn't it" she said,
her voice thick with weariness, no matter how much she tried to keep it from the ears of the other.

Luta looked the female over once she peered from around the termite mound.
She cocked her head, and tried to look around the lioness. There was a bulge in the
lionesses belly, and either it was a recent large meal, or she was expecting. Had she cried
cause she was in labor? Surely not.. Now that she was saying how nice the day was. Luta sighed a breath
of relief that she wouldnt have to help deliver a litter, t hough she would had she had to.
"That it is." She purred, her voice soft. She always had the princess like voice, it seemed to counteract
her mate Dogos harsh yet still somewhat feminine voice.
"I heard you cry out. Are you okay?" She asked, noting the weary expression on the others face. She
was good with reading others. She was a nanny in her pride, and she could alway sseem to tell that things were on the minds
of the young ones, and it seemed she was the same with others.
"Im Makhipya Luta, though.. Thats a mouthful, so feel free to call me Luta." She smiled.

Optheli was doing ehr best to appear a well fed, healthy lion, despite her obvious pregnancy but she was thin and her fur
was dull. She could see now she was closer that this was a leapon, she'd not seen many but she knew what they usually looked like.
The cubs kicked and she winced a little, qucikly she tried to cover it by lifting a hind leg "Cramp" she chuckled humorlesly,
She sighed when the other said she'd heard her cry out "Sorry if i disturbed you, i guess.. i had a bad dream" she said.

Despair maybe? Luta felt a tug of sadness for this female on her heart. She shook her head
and sighed. Sometimes life was harder on some than others and sometimes life was just not damn fair.
She supposed life was rarely fair, it was all about what you could do and make with it.
"Pleasure to meet you Optheli. I-" But her words were cut off whenever she the the others voice started to crack.
She heard the sadness there and finally the female broke out into sobs. Luta was surprised, unsure of what was going on.

"Are you okay? Whats wrong? Shhh shh, dont cry now love." She said, approaching her and nudging her shoulder with her muzzle.
"Whats got you so upset? You shouldnt let things bother you so badly. I hate to see others cry." She said softly.

Optheli tried hard not to cry, but Luta with her kind voice broke the barrier of emotion she'd been holding onto.
She hadn't been able to afford getting lost in tears before, not on her own. She kicked herself metally because she
wasn't usually one for such breakdowns.
When Luta nuzzled into her shoulder, she sat down, leaning her head against the other a little and she found herself
telling the Leopon everything, right down to his last promise of his return when she had given birth.
she felt a little better for having told someone of her burden, hopefully her love for the cubs
showed when she talked about them to Luta.

A kind soul, who offered help to whomever needed it. What else could she do? Walk away and leave this poor girl
alone and forlorn? Heavens no. It would be against her beliefs, and her mother would be so dissappointed.
The story alone broke Lutas heart.. add the tears from a mother who loved her unborn cubs, and it was devastating.
She shook her head, her own tear sliding down her cheek.
"Youve lived a troubled few seasons havent you." She said, more of a statement and less a question.
"The demons need to be wiped from the earth. I garauntee thats what he was. A sheer demon who has no use for cubs rather
than furthering their power. Its awful.. Using cubs to do your dark dirty deeds." The leopon said. She looked at the female and
a gentle smile came on her face once she realized what she could help with.
"Optheli! Ive got it! My pride, is a band of Demon hunters who risk our lives to kill the very things that you have seen and fear.
We could take the cubs, and raise them to fight the demons. If he still follows you, he will find no cubs. He will only find that you
had a miscarriage, and thats that. Yet they will be fine and healthy in our ranks if youd like."

as she was pretty vulnerable on her own, both emotionally and physically. She sat back once her story was over and Luta began
speaking. She nodded a little, trying to smile even just a little.
"Demon? that would explain alot" she mumbled to herself. It was then she remembered her dream and shuddered. That was until Luta's offer
"I..... I can't stay with you, i feel him watching me sometimes. I never see him but i feel his eyes on me." she said, the hope
that had flickered at the offer started to fade. "If you would take the cubs i..." she thought quickly "i will bring them to you?"

Luta was heartbroken shed have to seperate from her cubs, but she knew why shed need to do it.
She nodded, and nuzzled the other again gently in support. She was doing what would be best for her babies.
She loved them very much, just by giving them over to live.
"Yes. Yes I would gladly do that. He likely is watching you.. sadly the demons do not quit. Theyre evil, and they
long for pain, and death. Sadly its not their OWN pain and death." She said bitterly. She hated the demons
and for reasons such as this.
She gave directions of the location of the pride and smiled.
"Bring them there, and I will raise them myself, to know you loved them.. To know that you did this
for them, out of love."
She nodded, and nuzzled the other again gently in support. She was doing what would be best for her babies.
