In middle school, My advenced band (8th grade) went to a district band contest. With all the middle school from the area. We played two pieces,
Down by the Salley Gardens and
Shaker Variants (Neither my actual band)
We where scored from 1 to 5. 1 being the best. Our school was hosting this, so we where the first to go. But the judges messed up. There are only supost to be three, to avoid ties, but there was four. Two gave us Two's, and two gave us One's. So we where good, got really good comments from the judges, but we where unclear on our over all score.
In down by the salley gardens, I played first clarinet, and got a solo. Yay. But I also squeaked a high note. And in Shaker, a girl nudged my arm, right during our speciel part (for the seconds) and I messed up. DX. But we still did good. XD
