It had been weeks since he had seen her. She had promised him the cubs, should she be pregnant..and today was the day
he found out if she was or not. His toes curled in anticipation. He wasnt even going to discriminate against the white cubs either.
He'd gladly bring them along, though he would make them slaves. If ony showed promise, well...well the pale ones never showed promise so he
refused to think that way.
The moon was in the sky, glittering like a diamond in a bed of sapphires. He liked the darkness more than the day. He seemed to blend, and be one
with the night.
He had been tracking her since he had left her that day. She had tried to keep hidden. He knew it from the way she kept from the main areas.
Main watering holes, common area for dens. She was keeping hidden deep away from the mainstream. Didnt matter though, he had been tailing her the whole time.
There had been no chance of escape.

The moon shone brightly and Optheli wasn't happy, her pelt showed up clearly in such light,
then again it did even when the moon wasn't shining. She'd been on the run ever since she'd managed to escape
Though she highly suspected he let her leave, she'd tried her hardest to avoid the most likely places where he could find her
but as the week past it was becoming clear that she would have to return to good hunting at some point.
Although her hips were starting to poke out and her ribs were showing, her belly was fairly large, everything she managed to kill,
her body worked to make sure the cubs inside grew well.
She lay in the grass and tried to pick out a small fawn or something in the midst of the group of grazers a few meters away,
luckily the grass was long and hid her well, add to the fact the stupid creatures didn't have great night vision like she did and it should
have been an easy kill, if only for the fact that she couldn't see any small young ones. The smallest she picked out was a doe,
and in the state Optheli was in, she didn't know if she should risk it. Her motherly instincts wanting to protect and love these cubs
the moment they began moving and kicking.
She didn't have a choice, it was either attempt the hunt or starve. She chose the former, creeping up until she was close enough to pounce.
She leapt and her claws latched onto the doe's rump, she was relieved that it fell after only a few feet. Hungrily she went in for the kill,
oblivious for the moment of anything but the scent of hot blood and grazer filling her nostrils.

He saw her hunting, and he kept coming up behind her. He saw the sides of her belly were larger and more defined,
yet he couldnt tell if it was weight gain, or if it was the fact she was carrying his cubs. He hoped for the latter, as he
had been hoping for cubs off of her. She was pretty enough, he supposed she'd do.
"Think you can get 'em?" He asked, voice low, almost like a whisper or a slow breath of wind. He wanted to startle her, not just outright terrify her. If she ran, he'd have to give chase,
and from the looks of her, she may had been in no shape to be chased.
He sat, and waited, his eyes gleaming.

If Optheli hadn't had her jaws locked on the doe, she would have tried to run, she heard his voice behind her and shook,
The doe kicking in it's death throes makeing her jump but she couldn't let go, she wouldn't, couldn't let this kill go,
she needed it, if he was close enough for her to hear him, he could probably see how thin she'd become.
Once the doe was dead, she jumped (rather ungracefully) over it to use it as a barrier between her and Roth,
not that the carcass could stop him but she felt just a little safer with it between them. "R....Roth" she panted,
still out of breath from the hunt and kill. "It's not time yet, why are you here" she asked,
a barely audible growl in her throat.
