Arianna had decided that morning to take her daughter somewhere new and different. Parks and the like were a dime a dozen but today was going to be something different. Though there was still a chill in the air but that was alright, it was totally survivable for the two as they got out of the house only wearing light jackets and warm long dresses. Arianna preferred to carry Kiri in her arms when they were going somewhere that had a limited time window.
Once they arrived they got onto the ferry with no problem and the two now stood on the deck watching the docks while boarding was still being completed. Kiri looked fascinated by the goings on around her. The toddler's small fragile looking wings fluttered a little as she watched others bustle about and eventually her brown eyes moved down to the water when she noted something glittery.
The deep blue of the water had her entranced for the moment, "Oooh...Pretty!"

Theis. Was. Terrified.
Not just terrified, traumatized. Something about large bodies of water and a very, very unclean boat was causing Theis to have some sort of fit. Sometimes when he got like this, Tony, his dad, would hold him tight and rock him back and forth. Only, he'd run away from Tony the minute his dad and put him down and was in a corner of the boat, huddled, rocking back and forth on his heels, hands over his ears. Tears were streaming down his face as he looked at the empty bottle of hand sanitizer before him.
That sanitizer was his life blood; it was how he could cope with everyday situations. That bottle symbolized his control over the environment in which he was thrust into, but now it's gone. Empty, a shell of it's former self and it made Theis' tears flow heavier. His wings were twitching as he huddled in his clean little corner. Oh, yes, he had cleaned and sanitized everything he could. But it wasn't enough. His tail was laying in filth, his sides pressed against it.
A voice pulled him from his tears and he saw someone looking out of the water. A girl, it sounded like. Brows furrowing, he sniffled and slowly stood up, trying to not vomit from the constant motion of the boat. "C-careful!" She looked like she could slip and fall!

Arianna was nearby so she wasn't really too concerned about the prospect of the small child falling in at this moment and besides a small cautionary voice saved her from making any such warning or worrying any further. The woman and child turned to look toward the smaller form from where it sat looking traumatized and very, very upset.
The young woman was uncertain how to deal with the poor thing but Kiri seemed to have something in mind as she started to move toward the boy as she was curious about him. The boy had suitably distracted the small simpleminded toddler from the shiny and pretty water.
Kiri edged a bit closer before she stopped and crouched somewhere nearby. Her large brown eyes stared at him, "W'assa matta?" she piped up after a moment. She had no concerns or worries about her surroundings and why should she be? The world was wonderful and perfect and nothing was ever wrong with it.

His large black eyes focused on the girl and he whimpered when the boat rocked, clinging to anything he could. It was so dirty, but he felt his stomach was fixing to make things dirtier. "I... I feel sick.." Motion sickness plus this many germs, plus strange people made for a very sick feeling dragon-pixie. His tail wrapped around the nearest thing, which looked like a spool of rope and he slowly go to his feet, arms over his stomach.
"My daddy's... sleeping and.. I don't think..... I know where he is anyway," he said almost remorsefully. Swallowing down bile that threatened to rise up, he took a shaky step forward and then another before falling flat on his face as the boat rocked with a wave.
The glasses perched so delicately on his nose slid off and across the floor, making him blind and cry out. He got to his hands and knees and patted around on the floor, letting out a squeal when is hand came in contact with chewed gum that stuck to his palm. That made his stomach lurch. But, he swallowed it down in order to find his glasses.
"C... can you help me find my glasses? I really can't see..."

Kiri's expression turned sympathetic when the boy said he was sick and she listened as he went on to explain that his guardian was apparently sleeping. Sleeping? On a boat? With shiny pretty water all around? That was just absurd to the small girl as she reached up to tuck a bit of white hair behind her ear and watched the boy but soon a mild disaster struck as his glasses fell. Kiri uttered a soft, "Oop!" and though he didn't see it, she nodded and knelt a bit clumsily to the floor and started to mimic the patting motion he was doing.
The small toddler fretted a bit about breaking the glasses before finding them as she patted and crawled about getting in contact with all sorts of filth and things upon the deck they were on but she was determined to help!
It took a few moments of crawling and seeking, they hadn't fallen far from the boy after all but eventually her hand happened upon a set of circular lenses attached together by something in the middle. They LOOKED like his glasses. "Hey, hey~," she decided to not tell him that she almost smashed them under the heel of her hand, "I found thems!"

"Oh thank the gods," he muttered under his breath, looking toward the voice. Really he was blind and saw blurry shapes and little else. After he managed to find the girl and whined about how gross they were, he put them back on his face because had no hand sanitizer. He really wanted to puke now. He touched gum, the glasses on his face had been on the floor and he had no way of cleaning himself up.
Gagging a few times, Theis ran to his disinfected part of the boat and promptly went between the bars and up chucked in the ocean. Whining miserably, the boy slid down again and used the handkerchief to clean himself up and then wrapped his arms about his self.
"I... I'm sorry.." His ears dropped, much like his wings because this is why he didn't have a lot of friends. They made fun of him for being such a 'baby' and not liking to get dirty at all, and freaking out when he did. For his species', he was considered a freak of nature. Even the doctors at the facility knew something wasn't right with him. "I just... don't like dirt and grim and germs... and now I'm covered in them!"

Kiri had carefully put the glasses in the boy's hands as he sought them out and smiled cheerfully as he put them on. Yay! She helped. She liked helping, it felt nice. Before she could say something the boy started gagging and then ran toward where she had found him where he then started ... making stuff come out of his mouth. The small girl was surprised to say the least, surprised, confused, and concerned. It didn't look healthy!
The small girl wandered toward the boy and crouched careful not to get close just in case he expelled stuff out of his mouth again, "Shh-shh-shh. It is okays! You don't feel good," she said cheerfully not seeming to judge him for his behavior or the fact that he just threw up. This was part of him as much as anything could be apart of him.
Her lips parted a bit as he explained about his dislike of the dirt, grime, and germs. Those were words that were a little new to her at least the word 'germs' was. "What issa germ?" she asked before following it up, "I'm a Kiri! Not a germ, nope!"
As far as she knew she wasn't a germ.

"Germs are the things.... that kill you or make you really sick. They're very bad!" he said, shocked she didn't know what a germ was. Sliding down again, he whimpered and held his stomach. When was this boat ride going to end?! It was going on forever and ever and all he wanted to do was get off the boat and back on solid ground. His tail flicked as he looked over her and then sighed.
"I'm.... Theis. You're Kiri?" He was asking for confirmation, honestly. He almost missed her name with how she was talking. It was a little fast for him. The boat lurched with a big wave and he clung to the bars above his head, gripping the bars tightly and trying to not scream.
"I want to get on the grass!"
