"You're dirty, defiled and unworthy of remaining here. Pack up your things and leave. Both of you. I can hardly stand to look at you anymore," their father said as he turned his back. Their mother sat on the table, shaking her head in disappointment and looking occasionally at them in disgust. Even their aunt looked at them like they had three heads. "You're both unworthy of staying here anymore. Even in the lowliest of jobs," he said.
Sonya woke up with a start in the dark tent she shared with her sister. It was a horrible nightmare. She wiped her eyes quickly to get rid of the tears that had begun to well up. "Anayah?" she said softly into the dark tent, not sure if her sister had gotten up yet or not. I'm dreaming in colors, no boundaries are there

It's complicated
It always is
That’s just the way it goes
Feels like I waited so long for this
I wonder if it shows
Anayah, who hadn't been able to fall asleep, sat up and looked towards her sister, feeling a pain in the pit of her stomach. Carefully, she stood and went over to Sonya, sitting gently beside her. "What's wrong?" She asked, reaching over to the night stand to turn on the small lamp. She noted that Sonya had been crying and frowned. "What was it about?"
Head under water
Now i can't breath

"It was Dad disowning us and kicking us out. Mom and Lilura were there and they didn't even say anything. I know them well enough to know that it's not logical for them to do that at all, but people aren't always logical," Sonya said, hating the thoughts and feelings that dreams presented. Of course none of it was real, but movies still scared people and her nightmares still bothered her. At least it wasn't the other nightmare. That was unbearable and she always woke up screaming. "I hate this," she said as she wiped away another tear. I'm dreaming in colors, no boundaries are there

Anayah frowned more, hugging her sister with a nod. "I hate it too." She pulled back a bit, wiping a stray tear with her sleeve. "Well let's go do something fun to get your mind off of it, huh?"

Sonya nodded and quickly got dressed. It only took her a few minutes to get ready, most of the time spent brushing her long hair. She tugged out the knots and then was ready. "Where are we going?" she asked. There were several possibilities that Sonya could think of off the top of her head, her mind quickly calculating the odds of each of the places. I'm dreaming in colors, no boundaries are there

Anayah gave a shrug, standing and getting dressed as well. Unlike Sonya's hair, Anayah had an easy time grooming, she simply ran the brush through her short locks a few times and she was done. She shook her head as a means of styling it, before taking a seat again. "We could go bug someone. . . or we could go get some breakfast, I'm sure the kitchen's open by now. . . Gwen's bound to be awake by now."

"Well, bugging people can be difficult on an empty stomach. Kitchen it is!" Sonya said as her stomach gurgled in agreement. She had not eaten last night because she had been reading one of the Black Dagger Brotherhood books. Come to think of it, that may have given her the dream. Darn the author and her dramatic love stories that always involved something that made her cringe. She would have stopped reading them, but she simply liked them too much. Anayah grinned and stood again. "Sounds like a plan, let's go!" She skipped over to the caravan door and pulled it open, being careful not to rip it off of its hinges. "After you." She said with a bow and a wave of her arm.

Sonya and Anayah followed their mother to their caravan. "Mum, not to be rude, but I doubt what happened to you and what happened to us is all that similar," Sonya told Madlen as they approached. She did not exactly want to compare notes, but she and Anayah had multiple attackers and from what she had figured out, Madlen only had one. Most victims were supposed to know their attacker too. She did not know any details about what happened to her mother but she was willing to make a few guesses. I'm dreaming in colors, no boundaries are there

She's into superstitions black cats and voodoo dolls.
I feel a premonition that girl's gonna make me fall
She's into new sensations new kicks in the candle light.
She's got a new addiction for every day and night.
She'll make you take your clothes off and go dancing in the rain.
She'll make you live her crazy life but she'll take away your pain
like a bullet to your brain.
  Madlen let out a sigh, looking at her. "Maybe not physically, but emotionally, yes." She didn't want the details, she just wanted to let them know she was there for them. "I'm just saying, if you need someone to talk to. . ." It always felt a bit odd talking to Sonya, probably because she knew she was more intellegent than her. She let out another sigh, looking over at the caravan.

"Not emotionally either. What happened to you? You were gone for a few hours at most? Someone you knew? Dad come and rescue you after and you got bloodied up by the guy? We got taken by a group of guys and we have no clue who they are. We were there for a week, Mum! Not a day or a few hours, but a week. They said if we fought too much they'd shoot the other one of us and then kept us nearby so if we did fight, we had watch them hit the other one. I highly doubt it was the same emotionally," Sonya said, unable to control herself. She felt bad for her outburst at her mother, but she couldn't restrain herself. She ran into the caravan crying. Now she was sure her mother would not love her. I'm dreaming in colors, no boundaries are there

Sonya was crying so hard she could barely force words to form. "I-I-I c-c-c-couldn't help it," she sobbed. It took her nearly fifteen minutes to begin to collect herself. "She probably hates me for real now, doesn't she. I'm so sorry, Anayah. You probably are angry at me too," she said, trying to get rid of the headache she was developing from crying. "I have to go apologize to her. I really screwed up this time," she said, drying her eyes. I'm dreaming in colors, no boundaries are there

Anayah frowned and hugged her until she calmed down. "I'm sure she doesn't hate you, but let's go find her." She said, handing her a tissue. "You really think she went through something so differnet?" If she was honest, she'd say she was glad their mother hadn't went something as horrible as they had.

"I hope so," Sonya said, voicing Anayah's opinion. "Really most of what I said about her's were assumptions and guesses based on some statistics and Gwen's vision. I was halfway bluffing," she said regretfully as she finished drying her eyes with the tissue. "And if she doesn't hate me I made it a lot harder to like me," she added, knowing it would be hard to argue that. She knew that she was not an easy person to socialize with much of the time. "I'm sorry, I wish I could turn my brain on and off. I'd keep it off most of the time," she told her sister. "Better yet, I should learn to just shut up."
