She yawned, raising a hand to cover her mouth as she walked down the empty school corridor; it was a Spiderday, and she had completely forgot... In fact, she had even gone to "class" earlier than usual, only to find the classroom locked and not a soul in sight. If she hadn't grabbed her Skellyphone to text someone to ask about the class and saw the date and day, she would have waited outside the classroom for others to arrive.
In vain of course.
Instead, she found herself heading back towards the Dorms, handbag in hand and feeling rather silly about coming to school on a weekend. Part of her hoped that none of the students were about; it would be embarrassing if she had to explain herself! Perhaps she really should join another club, one with activities on a weekend - maybe she wouldn't feel so bored with something other than homework to occupy her time! Then again, there was always the maul... Although its no fun to go alone!

Chuppi unhappily patted the bulge that was showing itself where her stomach should have been, a few months of inactivity and over-eating due to nerves quickly catching up to the chupacabra. She'd been hiding and shirking off her duties to the student council like it was no one's business and, after she realized she was letting people down, Chuppi began to actually feel bad. so many had voted for her, so many had counted on her, and she'd panicked like some fear driven human! Those thoughts made her cry, but she was past sniffles at the moment.
She was actually out for a walk today to try and shake out her nerves and the winter weight that she'd gained. Part of her wanted to make her way to the track field right then and there and run until she collapsed, but that sounded like too much effort and the school was practically crawling with people she didn't know. It was scary! Instead she stopped her walk in the middle of the pathway, her little hands holding tightly to her beloved Thermos.
" . . . Maybe I should go back to my rooms after all. No one should see me like this."
She'd easily doubled in size. . .well, girth size anyway. It was sad.

While she had been daydreaming as she walked (no doubt about how she was going to spend the rest of her day), it didn't take much to notice that there was another student ahead. She stopped a short distance away, staring intensively at said student with a slight frown; there was something oddly familiar about the student, with her green skin, spines, black hair and rather short stature...
"CHUPPI?!" It came out as both a question and an exclamation as her eyes widened, wondering if it was really the current Student Council Vice president; after all, the monster had been gone for a long time. Or rather, missing in action.
"Chuppiisthatreallyyou?" Lizzy's sentence came out as a long string of words as she quickly walked towards the other student, placing a hand on her shoulder as she stood behind her.

"!!!!!AIDIOSMIOLOSIENTOPORFAVORNOMEMOLESTESLOSIEEEENTTTOOOOOO"
Whatever Chuppi was saying came out in a long line that sounded more like morse code than actual talking. Her Spanish was quick and heavy, her accent popping harder than it had in a while, and the little Chupacabra felt herself spring from underneath the hand and push herself into a position where she stood on all fours. Her fingers and toes dug into the dirt as she looked up to see who had just approached and started her, red eyes blazing with more fear in her mind than any actual malice. Truth be told though, bristled as she was with eyes glowing - she looked a little scary. Of course all of her terrible look faltered away the moment her eyes took in a person she knew to be her friend, and soon Chuppi was back up and running - this time to pull Lizzy into a hug.
"Lizzy!! I have missed you!"
There were likely tears incurred in this reunion, or else Chuppi spilled her thermos. Oops.
"How are you? Okay?!"

What did she just say?
Lizzy took a step back when Chuppi went on all fours, her eyes widening in surprise; she hadn't expected such a reaction. In fact, she had almost forgotten how frightening monsters could be - even if they're normally adorable. However, when her name was called, she grinned happily and returned the hug.
"I've missed you too, Chuppi!" She leaned into the hug, finding the ghoul rather huggable (if that was even a word), "I've been fine! Oh, where have you beeeeen?" The last part of her sentence was drawn out and whiny as she finally pulled back from the hug, looking at the Chupacabra with a soft smile.

"I've been okay, um..just...hanging around."
The correct answer for Chuppi to say would have been "hiding and skipping class" but that was hardly anything that a member of the student council should ever be caught saying. Part of the reason Chuppi had stayed away for so long was she'd caught a really, really bad case of homesickness that rendered her a sobbing ball of unhappy Chupacabra for quite a while. She'd been fine for so long that the sudden urge to see her parents had shocked her and left her emotionally useless for a period of time.
She'd only recently come out of her shell and had forced herself back into school activities, downright ashamed that she'd gotten to where she was and how much she'd let the student body down. She was planning ways to make it up to them all, really, but for now she was just being her usual timid self.
Chuppi, by the way, loved the hug.
"I'm sorry for being gone, but I'm better now! Are you having fun at the school? New friends? Clubs?"

"No need to apologize! I just hope that this mean I'll get to see you around more now," She nodded with a grin, sensing that there was something wrong with Chuppi but deciding not to probe; Lizzy was just glad that she was back in action after all this time being MIA!
"Well, I guess its been fun?" Lizzy frowned slightly, tilting her head as she tapped a finger against her chin, looking rather thoughtful, "I can't really tell. I mean, I found parts of it fun, but some of it is terrible! Like that raid on Christmas town - I mean, it was terrible! There was no FEAR in the air so the whole place felt so weird, and we had to battle these... Things. Like drunken trees, a pink toy elephant... And I died! Well, not really died-died. I was blasted by this huge dragon and became FEAR particles! I reformed later, but I felt odd for a few days afterward."
Her frown deepened at the thought, but only for a short moment. In no time, she had a sheepish smile on her face instead, "Eh, but... Looking back, I made many friends on that trip. I mean, we kept facing dangerous situations and were forced to stick together... I wish you were there, not to experience the horrors though! Just for the overall experience. It was a great bonding session - we battled enemies together and came back to school together..." She then added quickly as an after thought, "In one piece too! Can't say I've been involved in any clubs though... Still waiting for the FFF to hold its first official meeting!"
A pause followed when she realized she had been ranting, blushing slightly as she took Chuppi's hand (she would take her arm, but those spines look dangerous!), smiling fondly when she recalled their first meeting and how she held her hand all the way back to her Dorms, "You know, if you're not going anywhere after this, we could go for a walk around campus before going back to our dorm."

"I will do my best to be around more. I have found my friends will keep me happy, there is no need to miss mi familia so badly. Papa y Mama would be upset if they knew that I was acting so much like a baby."
Chuppi smiled up at her friend, returning the grin. It was true that seeing her friend was indeed lifting to her spirits as it turned out that she actually did miss the company and companionship that came with knowing students at the school. She'd been such a fool to wallow in self-pity and tears for so long. Of course she was a bit surprised to hear about a raid on Christmas Town.
"A raid. Por que - why? It seems dangerous, but I am very glad you are okay and back. I would have been very sad to come out from hiding to find that you are truly dead-dead. I do not want you to go away."
Chuppi snuggled a bit closer to Lizzy before the spider-demon once again took her hand, and a faint blush of happiness dared to creep over the little monster's cheeks. It turned her face a darker shade of green, something she thought was odd since blushes usually meant red, and she couldn't help but find herself both happy for this bonding. . .and jealous that Lizzy had made new friends. Chuppi was by no means possessive, at least she didn't think she was, but part of her felt upset that made Lizzy wouldn't want to be that much of her friend anymore with so many new ones.
Of course all thoughts were banished away to the back of her mind the moment Lizzy offered to stay with her and walk around. Such a little action, such a little offer, meant the world to her. Which, of course, meant she started to cry.
"Gra....gracias. Muchas gracias. . . . "
She was trying to say thank you, but it came out instead as snorting and sniffling. Whoops.

"Its okay to miss your family, I miss my mother too... Its hard to be away but yes! Friends do get you through!" She nodded with a small smile, knowing how bad home sickness could be... However, she could only shrug when asked 'why', although her smile was still there, "Well... There was this 'Nightmare before Christmas' play that had an open audition. The play itself was held after the raid - Nuk played Sally and Shehk played Jack! Anyway, I was thinking maybe they wanted us to appreciate the play a little more? Maybe get us some battle experience?"
It was truly a mystery... Headmistress Hellma never really told them anything either. Then there was that man playing sandy Claws during the play... He looked so much like the real deal!
"D-Don't cry!" She would have flailed, but she was supposed to be comforting Chuppi, right? Flailing would probably be a bad move! Instead, she gave her hand a gentle squeeze before petting it; while she didn't understand the monster's words, Lizzy at least figured that she wasn't crying because she's sad, so maybe those tears were fine?
"Friends stick by friends, yes?"

"I don't meant to cry. . . I am just very happy to be with my friend again. I didn't. . . know how lonely I had been. Lo siento Lizzy."
While Chuppi didn't exactly have a throng of people she could call her friends she at least had a select few, a small group that she could count on. Part of her was still jealous at Lizzy's grouping to get so many others around to never be lonely but when the demon patted her hand and kept saying they'd stick together it really did help.
But what would they do now? Walking around was good even though she'd get winded quickly because she was out of shape. There wasn't much else Chuppi liked to do however so she was at limited sources for options.
"Other than walking around, is there anything you want to be doing? I don't really have any plans, like I said before."

She continued to smile reassuringly at Chuppi as she started slipping into her native language again. Feeling lonely... Was a bad feeling. She felt that way once, when she was still new in the school and it seemed like everyone knew everyone else - it was a good thing she snapped out of that quickly thanks to BotB.
"Next time you feel homesick or encounter a problem, don't shoulder it yourself," The Demoness nodded, her voice firm, "Come look for me... I might not understand completely what you are going through, but I hope to at least be a listening ear! If you disappear again, I'll find out your room number and knock on your door!" She was completely serious about it too - seeing the state Chuppi was in when she first saw her after so long made her regret not having the thought sooner.
"A walk around the campus with a friend sounds good to me, actually," She beamed, leading the ghoul down the pathway at a strolling pace, "I didn't really plan to show up in school today - I thought today was Frightday - but seeing you again made the trip down so worth it!"

"I am always here at the school, because of clubs or doing things for the council. Days off seem funny but I do not mind being so busy."
The monster started to walk beside the demon, having to take two steps for every one of Lizzy's. Her short legs only seemed to hinder her more now that she was carrying some extra weight on them but she wouldn't let that show, she wasn't going to prove to others that she'd gotten fatter. Her kind were supposed to be thin and svelte, able hunters of the land. Chuppi was lucky if she could chase down a minipet at this rate. When all of this was over and she had some time to herself then the Chupacabra knew she would be spending as much time as possible out on the track fields, running off the weight. She was determined to come back more in shape than before, though she wouldn't change her eating habits for anything. Chuppi was not the type of monster who would starve herself on purpose, or even on accident. Food was far too important but she could understand the purpose of becoming healthy.
"Also though, I don't know where your room is and you don't know mine. It's not hard to find mine though, they had to move the doorknob down for me to open it and get in. There are also holes in the door from my quills, when stumbling around."

"Well, I prefer busy days myself at times," She giggled softly, "Days off can be kind of... Boring." Or perhaps she was just so used to having things happen in school that when nothing does, it feels rather off.
"Just go to the fifth floor of the Demon dorms; my room is the last door on that floor," Granted it was more than just 'a room' since it contains a fully functional bathroom, among other things, but she figured that there must be students with rooms 'grander' than hers. She chuckled at Chuppi's description of her room door, "Your room does sound easy to find!"
She would probably just have to ask around the dorms!
