{That Girl I Can't Ignore}:an rp between Syaoran and Sakura (Mia Lavinia and o-Kikumaru-o)
Glade:: Teritia Setting:: Late afternoon/early evening. It's the last night of one of the many annual festivals, and the glade is full of paper lanterns and celebrating Gladiers, among them the two young descendants of Clow Reed.

Syaoran was standing on one of the many wooden bridges that could be found all over the festival area, staring down at the streaming water below, his front paws resting over the railing. It was slightly warmer than usual, which had caused the waterlilies to bloom off-season, to the delight of most. He, on the other hand, didn't really care one way or another, flowers weren't that big a deal to him.
The lit lanterns reflected off the surface of the water, the weak stream causing ripples in the reflections. The soft glow they gave off was much more appealing to him than any flowers around. The boy had already circled around most of the festival area long ago, checking out all the food vendors. While the cooking was good, he could mostly have done a better job himself.
Letting out a soft sigh, he looked around. He wondered if she was there.. it was highly likely, seeing how her best friend loved dressing her up for any imaginable occasion.. As of late, he had found himself thinking of her more and more. They'd started out as rivals, yet eventually became friends.. and her bubbly personality had ended up capturing his heart. She, on the other hand, most likely had no idea.
"Sakura.." he muttered.

Sakura looked up from the piece of takoyaki she was nibbling on. She thought she had heard someone say her name, but on a quick inspection of the gladiers around her, no one seemed to have been looking for her, so she shrugged off the feeling and went back to gazing wistfully at the colorful array of festival foods. The frilly pink outfit Tomoyo had made for her was a bit stuffy in the late autumn heat, but she couldn't help but smile at how determined Tomoyo was to create a closet for her.
Feeling a need to be refreshed, she wandered through the crowd, searching for a less densely crowded area where a bypassing breeze might cool her off. A survey of the surrounding festival grounds told her that the shrine would likely be empty, so she headed away from the bustle of the stalls towards the bridge that would lead her to the shrine.
I wonder who that is? She gazed at the solitary figure standing on the small wooden bridge, but the distance and the darkened skies made it difficult for her to ascertain who it was. She came closer, waiting for her eyes to adjust to the soft glow of the festival lanterns.

Syaoran let out another strained sigh, before deciding to go find something more productive to do. Brooding over his crush on her wouldn't really do a thing, now, would it? He had just turned around to go check one last alley of stalls when he saw her, right there in front of him. He could feel his heart rate rising and his cheeks growing warmer.
"S-Sakura!" he stuttered slightly, trying to gather himself. "Uh.. it's kinda nice out here tonight, isn't it?" he asked, avoiding eye contact, but trying not to seem too obvious about it. "Tomoyo's not with you? I don't see Kerberos or Yue, either.."

"Oh, hi, Syaoran! I didn't expect to see you here." Sakura made her way up to the bridge so that she was only a plank away from him. "It's a good night to hold a festival," she agreed. "Tomoyo said that she had to stay home to entertain some guests, and Yue and Kerberos are off exploring all the food stalls." Sakura stifled a giggle, knowing that both of them would return with their stomachs filled to burst.
She turned back to Syaoran. "What brings you here?" she asked, smiling at the thought of meeting someone she knew in such a large festival.

"Ah.. I see", the boy replied somewhat stiffly, relieved that at least her guardians were close by if something unexpected happened - as unlikely as it was, he wouldn't want to take chances. He didn't like the idea of her getting in trouble.. she was a little clumsy at times, after all. "I was bored being home by myself.. so I decided to come check out the festivities", he then answered her question, blushing somewhat. He had also been hoping to run into her.. but now he didn't even know what to say to her. Her outfit was clearly made by Tomoyo - extravagant as usual, but still, it looked great on her.

Sakura smiled at the boy, feeling relieved that he wasn't trying to interfere with her plans. It was nice to take a break from her duty once in a while, especially if her rival wasn't following her all over the place. "Do you want to go do something together? The fishing stall seemed kind of interesting," she suggested.
In the quickly dimming light of, she could only make out Syaoran's general outline, but she still noticed that his cheeks were rather red. She briefly wondered if she should bring it up, but decided against it, reasoning that it must be because of the red glow of the lanterns. Still, it seemed rather odd that he seemed almost...nervous? She couldn't really pinpoint the right word, but ended up just trying to forget about it.
