Nuriko's sets of wings flared wide, the feathers spreading to catch every ounce of drag to slow her down. She landed delicately on the soft snow, proud of herself as her hooves sank in quietly and gently as her weight was absorbed. "Now that was a nice landing, if I do say so myself!" she exclaimed loudly to absolutely no one in particular. Maybe the nearby squirrels could appreciate it.
The wind rustled the loose snow around her legs and her scarf drifted around her with a soft 'swish'.
She had left her mate at home in search for a little quiet time. It would seem that in this small break of the trees that this forest could offer her that solace. Nuriko loved her mate dearly, but sometimes Hotohori's duty can be stifling.
The angeni reflected on how strange life can be - for when you get exactly what you want, sometimes you just wanted some time away. She never thought that might be possible, she had gone after him so obsessively. But how the game was exciting! Nuriko let her lusty laugh echo through the trees as she entered below their leaf-bare branches. Oh, how she loved winter.

It rung through the air, the small tinkle of the mare's bell as her blood filled ears perked in interest. Something or someone was going to die soon and with all luck she would find it before its own heart stopped beating, the last look of desperation of facing the grim reaper with the sounds of bell always gave a sense of happiness to the pink haired mare.
Her small pink wings gave a bit of a flutter, too small to allow herself to fly however they matched the small ones behind her ears, a cast off of a once angeni bloodline that apparently lurked in her blood. Tinkerbell, a mockery of a cheerful sounded naming, gave a bit of a sly grin as her bell continued to chime even louder. Her hooves crunched as she made her way through the snow her dark pit of eyes looking for any symbol of a small creature huddling for warmth as it ebbed away into another world.
Instead of finding a small rabbit or so, Tinkerbell spotted a winged creature, she was much larger than anything she expected to find and more so her heart reeled in excitement. A soquili perishing, oh! What a rare treat for death bells today! She thought letting her grin creep upon her face as she heard the mare laugh over the ringing of her bells confirming her thoughts as she made her way into the open where she stood. The mare had little idea that today would be her last day living on the earth, or so the mare presumed.

Nuriko stomped heavily through the snow, allowing her light hooves to sink in. She enjoyed that sound; humph as her hoof hit, beph as it sank, and finally the phiph as she lifted it out of the snow. The last thing on her mind was being quiet. Her wing pairs were held tight, holding her scarf in place. She wouldn't want to go chasing after that in these woods. She might break a wing feather in the mad dash!
Her thoughts were interrupted by a slight tinkle. Nuriko paused, her merriment replaced by curiosity. Where did that sound come from? She surely didn't have any bells and her hair ornaments didn't sound quite like the hollowness of the noise.
The angeni stopped entirely and looked around, trying to place the sound that eluded her understanding.

She could hear them, even better! Tinkerbell thought as the angeni began to look for the source of a sound, only those who were dead or close to the edge only seemed to hear the noise however, she was one of the few exceptions but her assumption was that she was its guardian and therefore she would always hear the bells. However, if they ever rang for her she would never know assuming the bells were always meant for someone else.
Making her way from out of the woods with her hooves sinking partway through the snow she continued to the eye the mare, how was she going to die? Would something kill her, or would she merely drop dead from some disease that lurked in her body? Oh how much fun it would be either way, the mare thought letting a little giggle escape her lips. Not to mention the scarf that she clung dearly around her neck would be of little use to the dead and Tinkerbell had always wanted something to pretty for herself other than her bell.
Giving the mare another disturbing grin, she replied "hello miss."

There, Nuriko pinpointed the sound, but didn't see anything. It wasn't until the mostly white mare came out from behind the tree that she saw her. Nuriko frowned slightly, wondering at the strange aura she felt around this mare. Her dark eyes and wings suggested someone dark.
But the angeni pushed such concerns aside and smiled brightly (different from the other mare's grin). "Why hello, what a wonderful day - don't you think?"
"A curious bell you have around your neck." Nuriko couldn't help but notice it made noise but didn't really seem to move much.

The angeni gave her a rather bright smile that in its own way irked the dark minded mare. She hated things that seemed far to chipper for their own good however she was amused with bright like colors such as her own brightly pink colored hair or a rather sadistic giggle just not the whole joy of being friends. Giving a bit of a flutter of her wings she kept the same dark smile on her face brushing aside her annoyance, "It is a bit of a lovely day I couldn't ask for a better one especially now since I have met you."
As the mare mentioned the bell's noise a light tremble broke across her body one that expressed her thrill than fear, "Thank you its a bit special its rare for others to hear it ring so I am overly delighted that you can. Does it sound lovely to you?"

She hadn't really listened to the sound before, but now that she was asked, Nuriko paused and turned her head to listen better (not that it mattered since the sound was more in her head than actual hearing).
"Yes, I would say it sounds lovely. There is a deep tone under the bright tinkle, as if it is as welcoming as a mother's lullaby." She could not help and think of her own children. "It also holds promise, to not be afraid and not to fear what is to come." Nuriko could not help but think how the sound of the bell seemed so different from the darker mare in front of her.
"How did you come across such a pretty little thing? Did you mother give it to you?" The mare smiled gently, as if to encourage such talk of things. Meanwhile, she sand deeper into the song of the bell, as her mind was now convinced it was a song, if you really thought about it. She could almost feel the Rebirth inside her itching for use when she listened to the bell.
