Dusk was coming and soon Nisha had to find a place of rest. Lately traveling on ones own was getting lonely and boring. No one to argue with, no one to talk too, no one to...protect.
Shaking herself out depressing thoughts see watch as other prides walked by far off. As if sensing eyes were on them, as one the lioness and her cubs looked at Nisha. They were still for a moment before a little cub moved and the mother pushed the little one ahead of her away from Nisha and into the bush. That was another thing Nisha wanted, little cubs to take care of and love. Her eyes softened at the thought of little babies with masks of fire-- " Whoa, where did that thought come from?" Lately she found herself thinking of the Demon King that she met a long time ago.

A tug on his ear woke him up, snarling with his eyes closed he heard a yelp and scrambling of paws. Opening his mouth to yawn and to sent the air. Lilit, his minion. With his eyes still closed he thought of the time the had found one another after... his fall and meeting the lioness Nisha. It surprised him how he remember her name still. He usually wasn't like this, she must have struck a chord in him. Growling he slammed down his paw on the ground and racked the stone with his claw. The noise was unbearable but at least it drove all thoughts of the lone female out of his head... at least for the time being.
" Lilit! Fetch me something to eat darlin', Masters hungry." He rolled on to his back and knew she had gone to do as he had bidded.

After searching for sometimes Nisha came across a den... by the looks of it, it had been abandoned for some time now. A yawn snuck up on her as she surveyed her newest home doubtfully. It looked like it could barely stand up, but by certain aspects it been up for years. So who was she to judge? Shrugging she used her tail as a duster and shook away from webs that had gathered in the corners. Sneezing she debated if this resting place was worth it, so much dust.
She stepped outside to shake away the dust that clung to her fur. Lucky for her there was water nearby to rinse the dust from her face. Walking over she dunk her whole head in and brought it up with whipping motion to dispel the water. Laughing she took in her appearance. Black and orange head with a gray-ish body thanks to the dust.

Humming to pass the time and to help ignore the hunger pain that was currently burrowing and in his stomach Samhaim pondered what he wanted to do tomorrow. It was after all night fall and everything was snug as a bug in rug, he sneered at that thought. He watched dust particles float in the air and started to swat at them. A clearing of the throat brought him out of his internal thinking.
He whirled around, almost mortified to be caught in such an undignified position, only to realize it was only Lilit with their meal. " About time." He mumbled to cover up his embarassment, he watched as Lilit dragged a rabbit into their current home. He rumbled in pleasure, it had been sometime since they last had rabbit. He licked his lips and attacked the dead rabbit. He looked up to see Lilit eating her own rabbit, once finished he cleaned his paws and lips. Purring he turned over and closed his eyes for rest.
" Good rest my Master." Lilit sleepily called from her spot in the cave. She received a grunted reply a few minutes later.

Once she was finally cleaned Nisha walked away from the river and attempted to enter the den once more. It didn't look to bad now, at least it was cleaner then it had been. A noise broke her out of inspection. Alert, she froze and waited for whoever was in the moving bush to her left. A small creature caustiously moved out and a small rumble from Nisha's stomach caused it to freeze as well. Looking at one another Nisha came to a decision, she was hungry. Saying a sort prayer of forgiveness, she attacked. Its death was painless and she bowed her head in thanks for the food.
Once she was done, her stomach was full and happy. She buried the remains with dirt and walked into the den.

The sound of birds chirping and Lilit whining awoke him the next morning. Grumpily he looked over and saw Lilit still asleep... but she appeared to be chasing something. ' Ceh, canines.' He thought before turning away, allowing to sleep a little longer. She did after all bring me my supper last night. He licked his lips in remembrance as he stared out at the lip of the cave. Getting up he made his way out into the fresh air to enjoy the breeze that was currently whipping everywhere. Leaves were everywhere and the wind was howling.
" Huh," He grunted, surprised that the wind hadn't awakened him. It was that noisy. " I guess we won't be going anywhere today." He watched as a branch flew by. A black space moved in the corner of his eye. What he say made his eyes widen. " YOU!!"

A sharp crack awoke her and pebbles falling on her nose made her look up in horror. The den was coming apart, by the sounds of outside a huge windstorm was upon her. Letting out a little shriek, she scrambled to get out and at the last possible minute... the den had broken down. Dust got swept away by the wind as did some loose wood boards.
" I guess it wasn't so stable after all. " Her grumbled words lost in the wind. She shivered as the cool wind blew against her back fur. Looking for a good and stable place to ride out the weather, she dashed to what she thought would be a good area to look. " A cave!" She scrambled up the cliff with claws out, gripping and holding her weight as she climb upward. Finally reaching the lip, she pulled herself up with all the muscles she had. Sighing in relief Nisha almost missed the male voice.
Shocked she looked to her right... " Demon King." She blurted out.

A female growl was heard deep inside the cave, then redish-orange eyes glowed within the darkness. " You dare insult the Master. I kill you now."
"Lilit, enough." Samhaim wandered closer to the out of breath female. "We meet again little one." He smiled a smile that showed his sharp teeth. He was almost nose to nose with Nisha, he stared for some time before saying, " Come. I repay my deats. You can stay here for now and then you can leave." With his back turned he frowned, he usually wasn't like this at all.... there was something about this female that got under his skin.

The female voice had startled her, her demon king had been alone the last night they had met and turned away from the maned wolf to look at her male. ' Little one?' Nisha thought with amusement. " I'm far from little. Dee, I'm one of the biggest members in my pride." She watched him whirl around and growled at her for what she assumed the nickname. " Well, what am I supposed to call you? You have yet to tell me your true name."

He heard Lilit give one last snarl before she walked away. " Dee." He scoffed the insulted name out like he had eaten something bad. " You can call me Master." He said a little bit hauntly and he almost laughed at Nisha's facial expression. He of course wanted to keep up appearances so he with held his emotions as he sat farthest away from her.
Staring he watched as the female moved closer to him and laid herself down. Looking up they both held contact for what seemed like hours. It must have been because the storm had died down and finally breaking contact, he looked out. " Samhaim." He didn't need to look at her to feel the confusion. " That is my name." He rested his big head on his paws and they stayed that way in contented companionship for sometime.
END.
