Val knew this day was coming, she just had hoped it wouldn't have turned out like it had. She had told Tude who she was last night after returning with Mat, he didn't seem to care then again the leopard never really seemed to care. Telling her cubs was a bit harder, Mat knew and she sorta told them that there were things they didn't know about her. But she couldn't come right out and say 'I'm a god' instead she wished her cubs a good night and went to bed, or at least seemed to go to sleep, with the cubs all around her.
Val mentally corrected herself, the cubs were no longer cubs but young adults. They were practically adults as Mat so eloquently pointed out when she refused to let him leave with a strange lion. She knew the boy wanted adventure but until he was old enough to care for himself Val would do what she thought was best, even if he hated it.
Nervous Val paced back and forth. That morning she told them that if anyone had questions they could ask her. No one really seemed to care and went off to do what ever they normally did, another thing she mentally chastised herself about. She didn't spend nearly enough time with her family as she should have.
