Ciar sighed, picking his way down the trail in the early morning. Mist swirled around his ankles, hazing the ground from view. Ears swiveling and grey eyes watching for movement, he frowned. Why he'd been sent to find some stranger didn't make much sense. The wandering mare Kalen'dri had returned from a couple day trip to the plains early this morning, waking everyone that had been resting in the clearning with questions about a mare she'd met and directed here to stay a few days earlier. No one in the clearing had seen anyone new nearby, not even Yue with his nightly wandering had seen anyone. Ciar snorted and shook his head. The strange mare could've just found somewhere else to stay rather than with complete strangers. There was no reason to stir the whole camp up and organize a search. But he wasn't about to argue with someone with such sharp horns and it really didn't do much more than inconvience him. It wasn't like he was going to fin-. "Oomph!" He stumbled and sidestepped as he nearly trod on something sprawled across the path. At first he thought it was a tree fallen across the path, but looking closer, the mist thinned as the 'log' gave a weezed cough. A head came up blearily, matted hair clinging to a bloody neck. The two Soquili stared at one another for a handful of long moments before he coughed. "Are you alright?" He asked, beating his wings once to chase the receeding mist away faster.

Sunshine blinked and bit back a whimper of pain as she was nearly stepped on. She hurt, every inch of her. But she told herself that it wasn't Godric's fault. It was her own for not paying more attention. He'd just been following instincts that had overrun his control. It took her a moment to realize that someone was speaking to her. She shook her head slowly and looked up, blinking at the pale stallion above her. "I've been better." She replied in a whisper, ears flattening before coming back up.

"You look....awful. You need a healer." He said bluntly, peering closely at the mare. She had the dazed look of someone reciently attacked. Her coat was scored with bloody claw and teeth marks, ranging over her shoulders, sides and haunches. "Can you walk?" Ciar asked, leaning down to look into her face. The blue eyes that blinked back at him were unfocused as they looked back at, no, through, him.

"I think so." She murmured, taking a breath before struggling upwards, her tail swiping against the ground and stirring up dust. She wobbled, greatful with the stallion moved up next to her so she could lean against him. Now that she was standing, she could concentrate on that, rather than the unpleasant sensation of dried blood matting her fur and steady throbbing of her wounds. He gave a large snort at the musky scent clinging to her coat when she got closer. It smelled like....cat. "It was a skinwalker, wasn't it?" He asked her, knowing he was right as she twitched and tensed up. "How...?" She looked at him sideways, one ear canted back. "You smell like cat." The stallion said before turning slowly, moving so she turned with him while still leaning. "Our clearing is a bit of a walk, so step carefully." He warned before stepping forward, hoping she'd follow along with him.

She followed after, greatful that he didn't press about who attacked her. Though it would likely be brought up when she made it to this clearing. It occured to her that this stallion might not be a 'good guy' so to speak, a thought that made her pause. "Why are you helping me?" She asked, straightening as he stepped away from her and turned to look. "Looking for you. You never arrived at the clearing like Kalen'dri said you should have. So she made everyone go out and look." He said, peering closely at the mare, frowning and ruffling his wings. "We should go. The walker that attacked you could still be around." He said, moving up next to her once again. "Looking for me?....That's very kind of her to remember me." Sunshine said as he moved up next to her, shaking her head a moment later. "No. He ran off." She replied faintly, leaning once more against the young male. He said nothing, just walked forward, leading the battered mare carefully.

There was a great fuss as Ciar arrived in the clearing with the battered female. Water was fetched so the two legger Tal could bathe her wounds and then apply a poultice to the ones that were the worse. Rajiv and his granddaughter Priya hovered close, the filly running to fetch anything that was needed. Kalen'dri asked questions which were answered wearily. The rest of the herd returned and more questions were asked, mostly concerning the safety of their territory, especially if a walker was hunting in the area. Sunshine assured them that there was no need to fear. More questions went unanswered as they were all shooed away by Tal and she was allowed to rest.

Weeks passed and the newest member of the ragtag herd slowly found her place within them. She rested and let herself heal...and worried about Godric, and about a secret. A secret that a secret for long, as it was apparent in the weeks that followed that she was pregnant. An obvious result of her assault, as much as she tried to deny that it was indeed an assault. Sunshine insisted that Godric be found and brought to her to see his foals, despite everyone's arguments that such a creature should be kept away from their home, not invited to it. But she was firm and it was agreed that someone would be sent to find him once she'd given birth. Kalen'dri volunteered, being the fastest among them and the most able to outrun or defend against an irate skinwalker should it need to be done. More weeks passed before the foals finally arrived and Kalen'dri was sent to find the unlikely father. Sunshine wandered a short stretch along the shore of the lake to wait for him, always keeping an eye on the two baskets sitting in a rare moment of stillness beneath the warmth of the sun. Despite being insistant that she go alone, Ciar lurked silently within the trees should she need protection.
