The Announcers Sister?"Hello? Is this thing even on? Ah! It is, good!" Yuka lets out a sigh of relief before turning to face the waiting crowd. "Welcome to yet another Arena battle to take place between two combatants. This time the fighting will take place between the Mysterious Griel and the rather battle busy Eko! This fight will take place in one of our previous arena's, the same arena that was used by Layce and Ea, though it has been repaired after... Ea so brutally destroyed it. Anyways! This fight will last until surrender or death! So, I shall leave the competetors to find their way through the woods to one another, and eventually to battle!"
{{To anyone confused: The battle is taking place in a wooded Area, it's Griel V. Eko, and the usual rules apply. Have fun. Eko, you post first.}}

Eko sighed as he sat crouched on a large tree branch. Wind blew across the Arena softly, blowing Eko's air slightly. It was relaxing needless to say, which Eko payed no heed to. In a fight, the last thing Eko would like to do is relax. His eyes were sharp and his hears tuned to hear the slightest noise. From what Eko had gathered from when he had first entered the Arena and took to the sky, the forrest was all there was to the Arena. As for water, or any other resources, he had not spotted any at first but then again it had been a quick sweep of the area.
Eko wondered what he was doing here. Sure he loved fighting, in the smallest sense of the word but fight fight fight fight fight? It got rather old after awhile. He sniffed as he did a 360 degree area check. No nothing yet. I wonder what my foe will be like? He thought as took another deep breath. In this area it would be a .........diffrent battle for him. But still Eko could not help but feel the excitement the adrenaline rushing through him provided, that was the only reason he fought. Well one of two. To feel the adrenaline and to face death in the face, to show death that he would not die........not yet and would avenge those people of Flandor.
For now though, he cracked his knuckles lightly and went on all fours, still crouched. What a crazy life he led.┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉ Into a more terrible realm.

Griel yawned slightly as he walked through the forest with his halberd resting against his shoulder. The symbols on the weapon were glowing faintly, but beyond that Griel really didn't seem all that prepared for a fight. Sure he was as armored as ever, which was generally more so than most of the shekinah, but really he was hardly a knight in appearance. He actually appeared to be too young to be what he was, a weapon master. Well, that was his own business and no one elses. Silently Griel fast his eyes to the sky, peering past the trees for a moment before smirking as he looked back down and closed his eyes, continuing on his way. He could tell this fight would have one of two outcomes. Either it would be a waste of time for Griel, or it would indeed hold some adventure for him. It was more likely the first than the second though.
Griel slowly came to a stop as he hefted his halberd from his shoulder, letting the ax blade fall into the ground while he held onto the pole, looking forward as his eyes opened. There was no way for him to see Eko, and yet Griel had stopped without much reason. "You had best strike me first, because if I strike first the fight might be over before we even begin." Griel called into the forest. There was no tone of arrogance to his voice, but who could say Eko wouldn't take it that way? Griel certainly seemed sure of his abilities, even though he had no clue as to how Eko fought or even what his opposition looked like.
Griel hefted up his heavy weapon in on hand before taking it in both as he took a fighting stance, aware of his surroundings. Griel had no earned the title of "Gale" by being reckless as one might assume. Eko would figure this out soon though, one way or another. Griel currently only had interest in waiting for good old Eko to make his move, or for the male to make Griel attack first. Either way, Griel would be content.+++++++++++++++++++++++

Eko heard the voice as it rang out through the forrest. It was male, and he could guess a baritone voice. He would be of medium height then. He heard the warning and immediatly took it under consideration, plans and outcomes flashing through his mind. No.........he would have to see the man for himself, and not use a full two handed weapon....no not yet.
Eko seperated the massive two handed sword that he held into two blades. One glew orange like fire, and the other blue with a sense of wind pushing away from it. He selected the wind sword and placed his fire sword against the trunk of the tree. He touched the seal on the fire sword's hilt and the seal on his arm, making both glow red. Ok. In a flash, he took to the sky as quickly as he could go and shot towards the voice.
It took a couple of minutes but Eko saw a man standing in the forrest. He wielded a halberd, intersting choice of weapon, and was in a sense heavily armored. He could see his opponent was well trained, possbily one of the best stances and forms he had seen in a while. Well then.
Eko went into a dive bomb, pulling up and performing a downward slash[like braver that cloud uses.], a jet blade of wind shooting towards his foe while he cut down, landing on the ground with his two feet. He then backflipped, holding the sword in a defensive position.┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉ Into a more terrible realm.

Silence met Griel's first shout, but that was to be expected as Griel did not know for a fact where Eko was. Yes, Griel had heard his opponents name, but that was all he knew. Griel waited in his stance, a comfortable one at that, as he prepared for Eko to come. It did not take too long for his opponent to find him, but long enough that Griel had eventually relaxed his stance slightly. Griel had little way to know that Eko was dive bombing his short of one thing, the males wing beats. They were loud, very loud because of their size and strength required to keep him up in the air.
Griel suddenly changed grip on his weapon and went to hold it like one would hold a scythe for a long swing. Sure enough, Griel suddenly swung upward as his eyes shot up. Eko had made his first mistake, a downward swing using his momentum against Griel. Griel's weapon collided with Eko's the weight of the ax blade easily pushing aside Eko's blade making the wind miss him entirely. Griel watched as Eko jumped away from him, but Griel moved to following, changing his grip on the halberd once again as he advanced. Eko made a mistake here as well, Griel had the advantage of range seeing as his weapon was certainly a guard breaker, the heavy ax blade would be hard to block affectively even with Eko's largish sword.
Griel swung the ax in at Eko as Eko came to a stop in motion, the ax easily forcing Eko to either dodge to the side or attempt a block that would no doubt cause him to lose balance with the heavy blade hitting him. Griel's expression was grim, a show that he had no intentions of playing around with the boy even though Eko was little more than a boy in Griel's mind. The symbols on Griel's weapon had come to life and were moving across the blade now, but as for what they did... well it appeared to be nothing at the moment.+++++++++++++++++++++++

Eko snarled as his attack had been blocked totally. The man was definatly trained to be a Weapon Master. As the man swung the axe, Eko summoned the fire sword and used his wind blade to help support the other. He then pushed away the blade and shot into the air again, this time launching four waves of explosive fire from his fire blade. They each formed a square around the sword master. Eko then took higher into the sky.┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉ Into a more terrible realm.

Griel let out a distasteful grunt as he saw Eko block before taking off into the air, leaving Griel on the ground. Griel flipped his halberd above him before he started to spin the weapon swiftly. Eko's attack came, landing around Griel and leaving him pinned in the area, for a moment anyways. Without any warning Griel suddenly brought his weapon down to the ground. "Awaken!" As the ax blade hit the ground, the earth suddenly churned, rocks shooting from the ground in spires and effectively spreading Eko's fires to the fore-winds, leaving Griel completely free to move as he saw fit. Griel pulled his ax from the ground as he turned his eyes to the sky and frowned.
"What? Are you going to run!" Griel yelled after Eko as he flipped his halberd back over his should as he watched Eko recede away. If this was how this fight was going to go, Eko would prove to be more boring a fight than an interesting one. Griel's halberd sparked with power as Griel waited for Eko to return. Griel couldn't fly, but he sure did have intentions to remove the boys wings the next time he came to the ground. Griel was not interested in dealing with a flying foe.+++++++++++++++++++++++

Eko shot back down, as Griel yelled at him, not even really hearing what the man said. He swooped to a horizontal and hot into the trees, a force of wind following as he had shot down, aiming for Griel. Now. He landed and began chopping at trees, turning them into razor shards. Next he concentrated and used a mass gust of razor wind, along with the scales and shot the wood and shards at Griels direction, shooting a fireball after the blast.
Then he held his sword up in a ready position. Not willing to be caught offguard.

Griel shook his head as he saw Eko shoot back down, the boy really making himself more of an annoying bee than a fighter. With ease, Griel side-stepped out of the way as Eko sent a burst of wind at him. As Eko disappeared into the woods, Griel started after him, moving with speed to not allow the boy to escape again. It was noisy and took time to cut enough chucks out of trees to create a force to attack with, so Griel had already found Eko by the time Eko had sent the wood to where Griel had been, the boy clearly too preoccupied to even notice Griel on the ground. Following the attack was fire ball that Griel ignored as he moved quickly to flank Eko, the man moving almost silently even with his armor.
"Behind." Griel said softly as he suddenly appeared behind Eko, the weapon master having jumped, as strange as that sounded, from the ground up to him using tree branches. He had done this quickly, leaving little time for Eko to notice him approaching. To refrain from ending the fight so quickly, Griel had spoke. Griel suddenly swung down with his halberd, easily splitting the tree branch Eko was on, and Eko if the boy didn't move. Griel dropped to the ground before adjusting his grip before slamming the halberd blade through the tree trunk almost as if it where butter, the symbols on the ax blade catching into a frenzy. The tree fell without warning, leaving Griel standing next to the trunk with his halberd extended out with one arm. He appeared to be leaving himself open, but one could only guess if this was the true case.+++++++++++++++++++++++

Eko cursed as he heard Griel come from behind him, the voice being the only thing he could hear to warn him. He leapt from the tree and shot a single ball of fire at Griel, landing about twenty feet away. He then ran at shot forward, sword made into one and made a diagonal cut at his foe, using wind to make the blade sharper.┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉ Into a more terrible realm.

Griel was disappointed to know that Eko had responded to readily to counter attack, but it wasn't such a bad thing. Flicked his halberd in, the symbols catching into a frenzy yet again as the halberd batted asided the fire ball as if it were nothing more than a baseball. Griel flicked his halberd into both hands as Eko approached, but the boy had forgotten a rather key point of what Griel had down, the falling tree. Well, he would figure that out in about three seconds, which would no doubt teach Eko a lesson about charging his foe without paying attention to the surroundings.
Griel blocked Eko's swing with the bar of the halberd before jumping back as the falling tree finished its descent, slamming into the spot that Eko had been standing, and also the tree limbs splintering and shooting off in random directions. Griel grunted as he dodged a flying chunk of tree limb before adjusting his grip on his halberd as he spread apart his feet, his left foot leading, as he awaited some sign of life from Eko. Griel doubted that Eko would so readily take a falling tree, but then again it had probably surprised Eko that Griel had blocked using the bar of the halberd, even though it was indeed affective. As for Eko hoping to split Griel's halberd's bar, he could have fun trying. +++++++++++++++++++++++

The tree almost killed him. That was certain except for one thing. The swords that Eko held in his hands. As soon as he heard it fall, he held both of his swords and enhanced them with wind, cutting in a vertical stike. The tree was cut in half, the wind pushing the cut ends away from Eko. He then leapt backwards, seperating the swords once more. Though Eko did get cut, on his upper arm, a shallow wound bleeding lightly. Damn.
This man was tough, a genius as a matter of fact. But his genius began to really irritate Eko. Quickly he hopped over the tree, leaping into the air and taking flight. THis was troublesome, he though as he rose into the air. But.............he shot a small fire into the woods around Griel. Needlesss to stay...........he started a forrest fire.┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉ Into a more terrible realm.

Griel watched in mild interest as the winged boy cut through the tree with surprising ease before suddenly taking to the sky. Griel watched him go before feeling the sudden heat of fire. Griel didn't move as the area around him caught fire, but he did narrow his eyes slightly in annoyance as smoke started to pile up and cover the area. Griel's annoyance was visible on his face as he walked forward, moving skillfully out of the burning flames and into safety from the burning forest. Griel continued moving away from the burning trees until he felt he was a safe distance away, at which point he sighed.
The forest fire wasn't going to put itself out, but Griel didn't have a way to put out the fires so it was in his better interest to just avoid them. As things were, Griel put his back against a tree and rested as he awaited some sight of Eko. The boy was likely to show himself soon anyways, it wasn't like Griel had tried to sneak away after all. Griel gently laid his halberd against the tree before he took a seat and waited for Eko's return. This was now a waiting game.+++++++++++++++++++++++

Eko watched his handiwork, the fire slowly spreading. Huh........ He landed in the middle of the clearing he made. His swords held out, one over his shoulders, with the other held diagonally to the right to cover his body. He took a deep breath and listened, no other response available and the fact of Eko didn't wish to begin a manhunt.┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉ Into a more terrible realm.

Griel did not move from his spot for a good while, instead just listening to the roaring flames in the distance. The smoke and fire in that ring was probably deadly, luckily for Griel he was in no such situation being as far from the fires as he was. Griel slowly closed his eyes as he rested before letting out a sigh. His eyes snapped open as he grabbed his halberd and jumped up, the fire getting too close for his comfort once again. "Stupid boy." Griel whispered as he started away again, avoiding the flames yet again. Griel was not a fan of fire, but it wasn't like it hindered him that much. It was simply the flames that kept him from going back to see if the ignorant boy had descended once again into the forest. These fires would burn for a while, leaving smoke in the area, which would make it hard to fight in that place.
Griel sighed as he finally came to a stop again, leaning against a tree as he placed his halberd once again on the ground. He wasn't going back into that fire, it was that simple. He would preferably run away from the forest fire rather than go in there looking for Eko. That would just be stupid in the long run.+++++++++++++++++++++++
