Someone thought the story they wrote would prove of their god, and they thought it was really good. I'll post it and wait for your inputs.
" GOD Is Busy If you don't know GOD, don't make stupid remarks!!!!!!A United States Marine was attending some college Courses between assignments. He had completed missions In Iraq and Afghanistan . One of the courses had a professor Who was an avowed atheist, and a member of the ACLU. One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, GOD if you are real Then I want you to knock me off this platform.. I'll give you exactly 15 min.' The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop.Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, 'Here I am GOD, I'm still waiting.'It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got Out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him; Knocking him off the platform.. The professor was out cold. The Marine went back to his seat and sat there, silently. The other students were shocked and stunned, and sat there Looking on in silence. The professor eventually came to, Noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked, 'What In the world is the matter with you? 'Why did you do that?'The Marine calmly replied, 'GOD was too busy today protecting American soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid Stuff and act like an idiot. So He sent me.'The classroom erupted in cheers! THIS IS GOOD, KEEP IT GOING AMEN!! "

I personally don't like chain stories like this because they don't prove or disprove any thing about the existence of a Surpreme Deity. They are mainly just meant to provide encouragement for people.

By disturbing, I find it disturbing how ridiculous the story is yet it seems the person making it thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. It's the process of the story that gets me, like why the marine is so hypocritical and why the professor isn't allowed to state his ideals like college professors are allowed to do.

True. Christians, atheists, agnostics, etc. should be allowed to express their ideals just as much as the next group of people is allowed to do so. And re-reading the story, the marine does seem to be a bit of a hypocritical.

OORAH! I'm telling my husband! XD
I have heard the "god is busy" crap... It's annoying. Gods aren't busy, they just don't care or won't intervene because it's stupid.
I don't really see how the Marine is a hypocrite... And is this a true story? I've heard some similar ones.

I drew the conclusion that he was a hypocrit because he told the professor to essentially to shut up and not speak his mind, while the marine was able to spout off about his beliefs.
And no it's not a true story. It's just one of those "inspirational" things for people who are trying to prove God exists.

But that is his right also. I hate it when they use military people... Just because they are protecting our rights does not mean that is why they joined. In fact, a lot of them joined just so they could go in to combat. The military already gets a bunch of s**t from others...

True and I agree that it is the marine's right to express his opinion too. It was just the way he did it that made him seem hypocrital.

Although, Marines act like that a good bit, but the reasoning is because they were disrespected or threatened and what not. They don't just go around hitting people for what they say. They would get in a LOT of trouble for that. You can tell this person doesn't know military well...

I thought it was pretty funny. Not useful as true evidence, but still worth a good laugh.
I'm around quite a few Marines, and I've never had a problem with a one, unless you gave them reason for their to be a problem.

VK Fox I thought it was pretty funny. Not useful as true evidence, but still worth a good laugh. I'm around quite a few Marines, and I've never had a problem with a one, unless you gave them reason for their to be a problem. I live on base. Sorrounded by Marines. Married to one.
And like I said, this person definitely does not understand the military and how it works. That Marine, probably, would have gotten a dishonerable discharge if it actually happened. After he got out of jail for assualt.
