The cold wind of Winter smacked over the surface of the ocean, causing small waves to form and clash against the shore. Clouds covered the sky, scattered about the blue horizon. They were white in color, puffy like half melted marshmallows. No signs of any storms coming. Or rain. There wasn't even the sight of snowflakes falling from the sky. It was a very nice day to be outside. If one ignored the chilly wind.

The sound of waves crashing harshly against each other constantly cut into the calm atmosphere of the late January afternoon. Water danced over the head of the woman standing in what would have been waist high water had she not been pushing the water from her with a light pink shield that covered her entire body. Arms outstretched, she would hold off the waves for a minute before letting go. The shield was reformed before the water could even touch the long dress she wore, pushing the water once again back out to seven feet from her body. Winter was a good season to practice this. The cold water was a good motivation. More so when you wore a thin dress over a swimsuit. The more motivation the better.

Prisca kept her eyes closed. Part of her practice was to sense when the right moment to push the water away came. There was no strain showing on her face, though she was bent over a little. This wasn't anything new she did. But it helped to keep that very faint Mewtwo hidden in her quiet for a little bit. That little itch at the back of her conscious to use her powers. This way, she hurt no one and got a little practice in. As docile as she was and was made to be, you cannot change a Mewtwo's natural nature. She often wondered why. What was it about her species that made them so...Dangerous to be around? Why did even she have the desire to crush things with her power?

Letting out a sigh, the woman banished those thoughts from her head and continued on in silence. Her mind empty save for the task at hand. The wind blew at the gown around her bare feet.

Gradually over the course of his stay in this city his routine had changed dramatically. Now, instead of wasting his life away searching all day for his friend, a good deal of his day was spent fixing and cleaning up the worn down house. Through some odd coincidence he was able to earn the title to the house. It was set for demolition in any case. Mostly due to lack if upkeep and no one was willing to buy it because it was so far out of town. Xero favored it because of the seclusion. Which in turn saved the old house from being destroyed.

The idea of staying in the city was becoming more and more favorable in his eyes. There was no reason why him and his friend, as soon as he found her, could not stay there. Though he had not quite come to terms with humans, he had come to form a strong friendship with another of his kin, a friendship which would be tragic to loose.

Weeks and passed by since he saw Prisca last during Christmas. He had been so absorbed in his new project that he had lost most track of time. Some nights he would skip meditation all together to finish up work on one of the rooms. His favorite so far was a library at some point. Some of the old dusty books even remained on the shelves.

One of the books, misplaced he figured, was filled with names and different 'disorders' next to them. When given the title to the house it was mentioned that this used to be a center for the 'sickly at mind'. Xero found some amusement in looking up a the disorders listed in some of the books. Not all of them were there, and he made a mental note of which one he would have to look up at some point latter. There were also some fantasy, romance and sci-fi literature mixed in, Xero figured it was some of the former occupant's personal reads.

Today, a clear day, Xero had decided to take a break from his labors and take to the sky. On a clear day it was a treat to see the city from high up. The sun reflected on any shining object it could get its hands on, which had a fun effect for one looking on from so high up. The snow especially made for a great reflective surface.

Xero sat there a moment with his arms folded across his chest just watching the city go about its day. His tail curled comfortably around his legs. This had been the first break in a long time.

Before he could get too comfortable a familiar pricking struck the back of his mind. Quickly he looked down over the city. She was there! Somewhere... He was far too high up to see anyone clearly. Without a second thought he darted downward, teleporting moments after moving.

When he re-appeared he got hit with something of a surprise. The city was nowhere near him anymore and the bitter taste of cold salt was unpleasantly on his tongue. Upon reentry he had somehow managed to slam into the freezing ocean and create quite a wave in his wake. Now he was soaked completely and utterly confused in the sallow waters of the ocean. Why had it taken him here?

So deep in her concentration, Prisca was oblivious to anything and anyone around her. She had made sure there were no Pokemon under the water before she started this exercise. With her using her powers, they would be steering clear of her area, leaving her to work uninterrupted. She barely even felt the cold. The bubble shield around her not only kept the water off her, but the wind as well. It trapped just enough of the cold Winter afternoon that she could feel it, but she wasn't freezing. Not until she let the shield drop and the wind cut in. She would shiver before putting it back up seconds later.

So it was no surprise she wasn't aware of that familiar p***k at the back of her mind. Putting the shield back up, she held it, the pale pink aura around her protecting her for the moment from the crashing waves over the top of her head. But when she let it go, for a split second, she became aware of the presence. Opening her eyes, she looked around, seeing nothing but the giant wave coming at her. Now, had she been more practiced in what to do in sudden situations, she would have known to put the shield back up. However, the suddenness of it caught her by surprise. With a yelp at the coldness of the water around her legs, she was momentarily lost beneath the water. The cold stung her skin, seeming to sunk deep in order to reach her bones.

Getting a footing was difficult, but she did, for a moment, manage to plant her feet firmly on the bottom of the ocean and rise herself halfway out of the water. This didn't last for long, as another rough wave made her loose that balance and fall back under the water. This time, however, she had had time to hold her breath. Her hands touched the bottom of the ocean, her fingers gripping into the sand as if it would hold her steady while the ocean retaliated.

It took a moment for Xero to collect his thoughts enough to leap out of the ocean to avoid the freezing temperatures. Curiously he looked back down at the water in time to catch Prisca's head surface the be pulled back down under the water. Immediately he dove back down into the water to retrieve her.

Xero quickly grabbed onto Prisca's wrist just as the tide pulled back outward. In the next second he had teleported them both far up on the beach, nearly to the border of the forest.

"Ms Prisca are you alright?" He asked nervously as they reappeared.

Xero was far to concerned with her well being to attend to the drenched purple hair now covering his eyes and most of his face. Behind, his tail twitched anxiously waiting for a response.

The woman made no protest when she was pulled from the water. She was too cold to. However, the moment she felt the bitter sting of the wind on her freezing skin, she gripped tighter to the second body against her. It hadn't yet registered she had been rescued, let alone by who. All she felt was cold. Very cold.

Instinctively, her aura flashed around her wet and shivering form, forming the pale pink shield around her once again. At once, the wind stopped reaching her and she heaved out a sigh as her shivering slowed down. Perhaps practicing in the ocean wasn't such a good idea while the temperature outside was so low. But she really didn't feel like staying home. Nor going into the city.

Prisca was not yet conscious of the fact both of her hands were holding onto the man's shirt. She looked up at him, aware at least that she wasn't the only living soul inside her protective bubble. Squinting behind her very foggy lenses, she released her grip with one hand to push her glasses to the top of her head. Either way, she couldn't see anything. Both ways were too blurry.

"Xero?" The mass of blurry purple was pretty obvious to her, at least. Resisting the urge to squint more, she looked down. "Yeah, I'm fine. That was the reason I dressed like this, anyway."

Xero didn't try to resist when he was latched onto by his freezing friend. He wasn't sure what to do other than let her cling to his soaked vest. His tail ceased twitching when Prisca gave her response.

"Terribly sorry about this..." He sighed as he assessed the 'damage' of the water. Other than being cold and very wet everything seemed alright. Though it would be irresponsible to remain out in the cold.

Luckily Xero had managed to clean out the office and found that the stove-fireplace was still in condition. It was also very fortunate that he had collected some wood to burn. So without second thought his hold remained on Prisca as he again teleported away, back to the office room within his house. It was very empty save for the stove fire place, some potted plants around the room and a worn out couch in front of the stove. Not the fanciest of places, but far better than what it was before he removed the rubble and rotting furniture.

When the appeared they were just behind the worn couch. Xero's eyes quickly adjusted to the dim lighting of the room. It was only as bright as the windows allowed it to be, which wasn't too much of a problem given the current weather.

He waited a moment before attempting to guide Prisca to the couch so he could prepare the fire.

When Xero whisked them miles away to his house, the woman let her aura wink back out of existence. The pink left her eyes, leaving nothing but the usual pretty purple, no longer hidden behind the lenses of her glasses. Those still sat on the top of her head.

Had she been able to see, she would have looked around the place she was now in. She knew it wasn't her house. Which only left his. There was nowhere else she could think of where he would take her. But as it was, she could barely see anything a few inches from her face, let alone a few feet around her.

"Thank you," Prisca told him, pushing herself away from him. Reaching down, she gathered up her skirt in one wet bundle at her knees, raising it until it came just above mid-thigh. It was much shorter than she normally would wear her gowns, but under the current circumstances, she thought it only appropriate to keep the cold fabric away from her bare legs. The face she turned up to him held no smile. However, the tone of her voice wasn't angry at him in the slightest. "Got anything to hold this? Or would you tie it in the back?"

As soon as she let go of him he moved to the stove to prepare the fire. He opened the front and placed the logs stacked on the floor inside before lighting the fire. When Prisca inquired about something to tie her cloths back he turned from the stove.

"... one moment...." Was all he said before he teleported to the upper room and shifted though the closet. Luckily he had a spare pair of pants and a dark brown shirt he had not noticed until now. It must have been left behind when the owners abandon the home. There were some moth holes, but not too large. He also grabbed a blanket that had been stored with the shirt. This one was in worse repair, but still warm.

When he reappeared downstairs he held the clothing bundle up to Prisca.

"It would be better to change into something dry, you will warm up much quicker..."

Of course he had every intention to leave the room should she choose to do so.

With her dress still bundled around her thighs, Prisca regarded the clothes held out towards her. Men's, by the look of it. She pursed her lips. As grateful as she was for the gesture, pants were not something she was about to wear. Whether they had a hole for her tail or not. She just found the restraint on her tail and legs uncomfortable.

Without taking her hands off her dress, she pulled it up and over her head, shaking it out in a direction away from him. Under normal circumstances, she wouldn't do this with anyone still in the room. But since she was only wearing a swim suit underneath to avoid going home in wet underwear if she lost concentration in the ocean, this wasn't one of those situations. Though, of course, it was still embarrassing for her to show so much in his presence. Ignoring the redness on her face, the woman picked the shirt out of the pile in his hands and threw it over her head.

Holding her wet dress in front of her, she folded it up as neatly as she could before turning her attention back to him. A slightly strained smile touched her lips. "Thank you, Xero. I'm afraid I don't want the pants. But you're right. A dry shirt is better than a wet dress." The blush still faintly touched her cheeks. Perhaps it wouldn't have been so embarrassing if it was a one piece. The typical girl in her didn't like those.

Xero's face flushed as he noticed Prisca lifting her dress over her head. Promptly he looked in the opposite direction to give her a bit of privacy. He couldn't leave as she had not taken the cloths and he couldn't drop them on the ground for some reason. Mentally he cursed the human emotions for such a paralyzing affect they had.

When Prisca thanked him he turned his head slowly to be sure she was decent enough. He wanted to protest her decision not to take the pants, but could not find the words. Instead he rest the blanket on the worn couch.

"...Please excuse me." Without another word Xero vanished again only to reappear with the dry pair of pants on and the soaked ones in his arms along with his vest and shirt. He had no other shirts and was forced to do without. Ironically he found no issue with it.

He approached the fire than set his clothing on the ground near by. For such a small device it was quick to warm up the room a great deal.

"I could dry your dress if you would like..."
He looked at Prisca, feeling silly for even asking, The answer seemed obvious.... He than quickly looked back at the heater remembering why he originally looked away in the first place. His face with a fresh blush.

Once the shirt was over her head, the woman brushed at it like she did her dresses. She could feel the wet suit underneath it making the parts of the shirt it touched damp. It was a tad shorter over her legs than she liked her clothes, but it would do for now. She didn't see Xero's first signs of being uncomfortable with her poor eyesight. While he was gone, she took the time to take her glasses off her head and clean them on the shirt. It was just as uncomfortable for her not to be able to see what was going on around her. It made her glad she trusted him. She wasn't worried about what he could be doing behind the security of her lack of vision.

Checking out her glasses in what light she could get, she decided they were clean enough to put back on. By that time, he had returned and she studied him for a moment. The blush on her face had deeped slightly, but she ignored it. She wouldn't acknowledge this one. Hair that long must really get in the way when it was wet.

She didn't say a word. Just held up the wet gown towards him. Reaching up with one hand, she smoothed the silver hair back from her face. Or she intended on saying nothing until she saw how Xero looked away from her.

"What's the matter?" she asked, cocking an eyebrow. Though a smile was still absent from her face, her voice held a tone of concern.

Xero took the dress without a word and set it with the other cloths. This time as he leaned forward to place the dress he had a seat on the floor close to the stove fire place. His legs crossed each other in an 'indian' style of sitting.

It would be easier to dry them with his method while sitting. As he did his great, and soaked, purple hair created a nice wall between his face and Prisca, obscuring her from view almost completely.

That made her question easier to answer without revealing he was blushing too much.

"Nothing..." He spoke not untruthfully. It wasn't a problem so much as it was just something he was not used to. That he was having a very hard time vocalizing and a short pause was proof of that. He than took a deep breath before attempting to word it right. "I just do not feel it is appropriate of me to look at you while you have so little clothing on... please pardon if my choice of words offends you. I mean nothing of an insult by it."

And once again he felt very foolish.

The woman followed behind him, silently thankful that this trip to Xero's house didn't contain any debris on the floor to further cut herself on. In fact, now that she could see, she noticed it looked better than it had before. Like he had suddenly got the desire to fix it up. It was in such a state the last time she was here. Unless he was that new to the area, it was strange. Something must have given him the determination to do something about it. Or someone. But that last thought was faint in her head.

Standing behind him with her hands at her sides, Prisca bent down enough to look over the top of his head. The sign of a smile showed at the corner of her lips, the first real one she had given anyone in over a week. "I'm sorry," she told him softly, close enough to his ear she didn't feel the need to speak louder. "It's acceptable to wear outfits like that in warmer weather. It's better than getting my....Usual undergarments wet." Wrapping her arms around his neck, she couldn't resist giving him a hug. "It's not offensive. It's refreshing." Letting him go, she sat on the floor behind him on her knees, her tail curling around her thighs in an almost protective gesture.

"Would you mind if I...." she started to say, not sure how to finish that. To show what she meant, she reached up to push back the hair around one of his shoulders gently, her fingers brushing his pale skin. "I can do something with it to keep it out of your face while it dries. Wet hair isn't very fun."
PostPosted: Sat Feb 05, 2011 3:32 pm

Xero had started to say something in response to her claim on clothing. He had not seen such a thing in his travels and still found it odd. However, before a sound could even leave his open mouth she wrapped her arms around his neck in a friendly hug. This left him speechless for nearly a minute. His cheeks flushed. It felt as if someone had lit them on fire and all he could do was sit there and blankly look in out in front of him unsure of what had just happened.

It didn't help the situation much when she pulled his hair behind his shoulder.

"............If you could please." His voice unsure, but it was the only thing he could think of saying at the moment. No doubt his face was as read as a charmeleon's by now. Xero found it embarrassing.

Thankfully he had the cloths to distract him from the embarrassing situation he now found himself in. Without any further waste of time he closed his eyes as he concentrated on the dress. A light blue aura covered the dress as he held it close to the stove with his powers. This was so the heat could be used to evaporate the droplets he pulled from the wet fabric. His hands lay on his knees palm upward as he worked.

The purple tail slung over her legs moved up and down on the floor, not making much of a sound. It was long enough to have plenty of room to rest on the other side of Prisca's lap. She had been about to say something just seconds before she noticed Xero concentrating on her white dress in front of them. The response he gave her question wasn't very convincing. It was hard to tell if he was merely trying to find something to keep her busy while he worked on the article of clothing or if it was genuine. The female Mewtwo bit her bottom lip, tasting the flavor of the purple lipstick almost always covering her mouth.

While she pondered over what to do, her hands lifted off her lap to gather the long hair of the man just behind his neck, heedful of the Mewtwo chord. It was difficult to get Prisca to sit still. Even when she tried, like now.

Before she realized what she had been doing, Xero's hair to about halfway down his back had been plaited into a single braid. Blinking, she froze in her actions, her hands suspended with the purple hair in her hands. Pursing her lips, she quickly decided she may as well continue what she had unknowingly started. Scooting back on her knees, she continue to work the three strands she had created into a braid. It wasn't something that required a lot of concentration, but she kept silent anyway.
