Kibaazi had always loved flowers. As a healer, she spent a lot of time around herbs and many of them had sweet aromas. Even after she lost her sight, she had continued her fascination with the sweet smelling plants. She was unable to see them now, but she had come to recognise many of them from their aromas.

She missed seeing them, she mused, walking with her head low. If she kept her head low, many people often didn't realise she was blind and did not think to bother her. She was always afraid that people might think she was an easy target due to her lack of sight - which she was. She was a poor fighter, due to her lack of strength and lack of food, though her body was plumping up a bit from the generosity of others. She no longer looked skinny, just a little on the thin side.

Kibaazi paused to sniff at a familiar scented plant, but could not place it's name. Reaching her paws out, she batted at it lightly, trying to get a feel of it's shape. She may be blind, but she was still a healer and healers needed to know plants.

Fleance watched rather curiously as a lioness shuffled along, feeling for flowers and plants. He tilted his head one way then another and couldn't quite figure out what she was doing. She didn't seem to be eating them… Hmm… Perhaps she was looking for herbs? Maybe she was a healer? He jumped to these conclusions due to a recent run-in with the Goddess of Herb Lore. She was nice enough and he'd helped her experiment. However, he didn't really understand a single thing about the subject matter. But that was unimportant. He'd watched her for a little while now, and whenever she faced his direction, he tried to throw the female a smile or a polite nod, but she didn't even acknowledge him. He was a little put off, and tried to get a little bit closer to her, acting nonchalantly, until she at least greeted him.

Kibaazi frowned as the feeling of the plant was not familiar. Perhaps she had never taken note of the plant's feel before? Well, that made things difficult. She heaved an annoyed sigh, and cast one more light swat at the plant, but soon stood. If she didn't know what it was, then it was obviously of no use to her.

The scent of the herb still lingered in her nose, so the scent of the male was not immediately obvious, but when she took a few steps away from the fragrant herb, the unfamiliar smell caught her attention. She paused, tilting her head to the side in confusion, trying to figure out what it was.

“Hello?” she called out, almost nervously. Perhaps her nose was merely playing tricks on her, she mused.

Fleance smiled. Ah! She noticed him! But… It was a bit confusing how she looked around for him when he was only a few paces away from her. Hmmm.

"Uhm, hello!"

He threw out his chest and smiled. The god was pleased with himself in a way.

"What are you doing on this lovely day, hmm?"

The god was still confused but oblivious. He'd never come across anyone acting like this. But everyone was a little bit different, right?

Kibaazi startled a little when the male spoke back to her, but was pleased that her mind wasn't just playing tricks on her. There was someone there! She wasn't crazy. Now she only hoped that he was friendly. His greeting seemed as such.

She tilted her head still, gazing a head of her although she wasn't sure if that was where he was. She gave a slight smile, hoping he was able to see it from where-ever he was. Smiling helped people become friendly, she'd always thought.

"I'm out collecting herbs," she admitted, nodding her head. "Though I'm not having the best of luck." She hestitated, before asking, "and you? What are you doing out and about?" The smile on her face stayed where it was, hoping that this would be a friendly meeting.

She was staring a little to his left when she smiled… But that was close enough. He kept the smile on his face in return. So he'd been right! She was collecting herbs! It only made sense, and after all- he was pretty sharp.

He simply shrugged when she asked what he was up to. "Not a lot, really. I was just wandering around to pass the time."

Time was something you had a lot of when you were a god. And he wasn't hunting because to him, mortal food was just for taste, not really important. He tilted his head as he watched her. Herb lore was mildly interesting to him, and this female most certainly was.

"What exactly are you looking for?"

She nodded her head, knowing that many people simply wandered. She had never really been a fan, but she supposed that was due to the fact she had grown up in a stationery pride. She continued to smile, though she was surprised by his question.

"Oh, nothing in particular," she said, sounding faintly embaressed. "It is simply what I do for fun. I need to relearn a lot of them now, so it is a good use of my time as well." She nodded, and shifted a little. There was no markings of abuse across her face, to give away her blindness, simply pale eyes that could not see. The herbs they had used had been made perfectly, and harmed nothing but her eyes.

The god shrugged.
His brother.
Ladies to make seer!babies with so as to find the former.
Hmm… She was a lady. He looked at her closely.

He tilted his head. "Why do you have to relearn them?" He stepped closer to take a better look at the herbs at her feet… And at the rest of her. Glancing up with his dull red eyes he gave her a smile.

All of the sudden, confusion struck him.

Why hadn't she said anything about his wings…?

Kibaazi smiled a little, both amused and surprised that he had not noticed her blindness. Perhaps he was blind too? Wouldn't that be amusing! She resisted the urge to giggle. "I learnt them all when I could see," she explained patiently, with a nod. "I need to relearn them by touch and scent, now that I can no longer see them." She motioned to the herbs near her, which she hoped were still there since she could not check to make sure.

She hesitated, before volunteering, "I was blinded not long ago, so I am still getting used to the change." It was a rather huge change as well, and scary at times, but she was getting used to it. She shifted, smiling in his direction, now able to pinpoint him a little better.

Fleance stared blankly for a few moments.
Ah.
So she was blind.

Well, that was unfortunate for her, but she seemed to be handling it well. He'd never dealt with a blind lion before, or any blind animal that he knew of (unless it was prey left quite vulnerable and taken down in an instant… He tilted his head and wondered how a blind lioness such as her could function. She must be a part of a pride, or have a mate or something. Hmm… A mate… He seemed to be hatching some sort of thought in his fluffy head.

His ears leaned forward and he asked her, "I'm sure your family and mate are right behind you to support you, aren't they? I can understand how you would need someone to take care of you."

Kibaazi played with the herb by her paws, testing it's shape as he spoke, before looking confused by his question, and she laughed lightly. A mate? A family? “The only family I have is long since left me behind,” she told him, with a regretful shake of the head, but the smile still played around her mouth. “I have friends who help, and they take care of me, very sweetly, but no – I have no mate nor family to tend me.”

She had always been the independent sort, and when she had been outcast, she had not been saddened by her lack of family, but rather that she was without Majaliwa, her best friend. She supposed he was family, but he did not take care of her, and he could not, not while he was lost and out by himself.

She tilted her head, casting her unseeing gaze towards him once again. “Why do you ask?” She asked, curious.

Fleance shrugged, then sheepishly remembered she wouldn't be able to see it. "Oh, well why don't you let me take care of you? At least until your friends come back. I'd hate to leave you here, I'd feel terrible if something happened to you."

And he was right, he'd feel terrible if anyone so sweet and gentle was harmed because he'd just wandered off to find something better to do. But his will to stick around wasn't so altruistic… The god was wondering just how strong Sight would be if their mother was blind. He approached her slowly, and as noisily as he could muster without sounding clumsy (so she'd know he was stepping closer) and ever so gently brushed her with his nose.

"I'll get you something to eat. Wait here!"

The god trotted off, quite entertained and interested in this female that he didn't have to disguise himself around. A trail of ashy footsteps were left in his wake and he set off to hunt.

The end.
