Where there isn't any land, there's water. linking all docks and beaches of all of all lands lies a vast sea, most of which has yet to be explored. It has a blood filled history. Vicious maelstroms, whirlpools, and creatures seek to drown trespassing vessels and guard hidden treasures. Once, an entire naval armada was lost in an instant, and the unlucky survivors claimed to see no sign of a monster. The ships just... shot into the water and vanished. Only a fool would venture out into the sea alone, and only the most foolish bring friends to drown or be eaten with. It helps to have an experienced navigator to avoid certain doom due to a wrong heading.

The weather was dark, like the still before the downpour. Deckhands were already sprinting back and forth along the deck and masts. The ship itself was your average merchant vessel, home to two or three guilds of barterers and craftsmen. Their families were also on board, for the most part. All sought safe passage to the Mainland from an island beyond O'uzu Island, south of Water Country. One group in particular was unusually tight. About half a dozen men, all dressed with armor and weapons that must have costed a fortune, and a woman dressed in yellow... however little clothing she actually wore. Watching the men of the crew try and flirt with her just to be ignored left to some of the funniest moments of the trip. The soldiers clustered around one of the rooms within the ship, and the woman would often be seen entering and exiting said room. There was also a man on board, employed to protect the vessel from threats such as pirates or raiders. He didn't talk much, if at all, though his eyes were glued to the water. It was as if he was waiting for someone, or something.

Eventually the woman walked onto the deck, where the man was gazing off to the horizon, leaning on the railing. She tapped him on the shoulder, then dragged him into the ship, to the room that was guarded. The guards allowed them entry. Once inside, the man was surprised. There was another woman, but this one was... different. She was dressed in a purple kimono, long, black hair that stretched to her rear, but the most notible feature was the golden headdress.

The man crossed his arms across his chest. "So, you must be the Princess." The kimono woman nodded. "And you Soka. I was the one to send the payment for this voyage, and for your protection." The man nodded. "One man to guard this many people? Should be fun." The blond chimed in. "Yuu said you've been on this kind of trip many times now. What's it like?" Soka shrugged. "If nothing happens, straightforward and boring. If something does happen... interesting, which is what I'm guessing the lady thinks is the case, eh?" The princess nodded. "As do you. I've heard the stories of the World Sea. Athena tells me much about them." Soka shrugged again. "Either way, the Sea's an unforgiving place. Pray no one on board's done anything to need forgiveness." With that, he left. Athena's head tilted with confusion, but Yuu had a small grin on her face that wouldn't go away.

Hours later the sky hadn't gotten any less dark, yet still no rain. Athena walked up to Soka, who was standing where he had for the entire voyage. "So... what are the odds that something'll happen?" Soka hesitated. His face was unreadable, but it was obvious he was thinking about weather he should be truthful. "Good... very good." And as if on que, panic began to run rampid over the ship. Three vessels were seen, one left of princess's ship, one right, and one straight ahead. How'd they gotten so close without notice, no one could say, but Soka's blade was unsheathed immediately. "Go to Yuu, keep her safe. Things are about to get interesting." Athena nodded and scurried off into the hull as Soka sprinted straight to the left railing, hoped on it, then lunged forward. (QUE MUSIC!)

Soka's free hand was extended forward as he sprinted towards the left pirate ship. Water shot up to be used as stepping platforms, bending to his will. Making it quickly to the pirate vessel was easily. Kicking their asses? Even easier. With one blade and almost inhuman acrobatics made avoiding enemy attacks and countering them seem like child's play. He sprinted up the main mast, and cut two large ropes. With one, he wrapped a cannonball, then placed it in a cannon, which was aimed at the front vessel. Then he hit the cannon with his blade, causing a spark. That's all he needed. With the second rope, he tied around the anchor, then dropped it. The ship started to to sink almost immediately. No, to roll sideways.

He began to sprint back to Yuu's ship as the cannon from the vessel he just left fired at the front pirate vessel. The cannon ball went straight into the hull. The vessel housing the cannon immediately rolled the other way, caught between the force of lodged cannon ball and the anchor. By now both the front and left pirate vessels were being dragged down into the water, never even touching their prey. As Soka jumped onto Yuu's ship's deck, Athena had the same idea he had, only she simply beat the crap out of them. Her hands were crackling with lightning; elemental chakra gauntlets. She was just getting back as well. Soka pointed at her hands, and she shrugged. They'd been a gift from the princess.

The princess's vessel took on minor damage, but had no casualties. After the mini panic attack, Soka went back to just watching the water. Over the next few days, Athena became closer and closer to Soka. Apparently she was a shinobi who dreamed of touring the Mainland. After a few sparring rounds on the deck, Soka agreed to take her with him if they made it through in one piece. After a month's worth of travel, the ship made it to Whirlpool country's waters. However, once on the docks, the ground began to rumble. What could only be described as a giant octopus tentacles shot up from the water. (MOAR MUSIC) Athena's jaw dropped. "I thought we cleared the danger zone! We gotta beat that thing!?" Soka grinned, blade risen. "So, how about this be your graduation test. We kill it, you can follow me." Athena's jaw snapped back into place as a grin crept on her face. "You're on, old ma!"

Both jumped forward as a giant dome of water rose up, then revealed hundreds of teeth.

Coming to the docks, Miirror was quickly procured a vessel. He had not the time to acquire many crew, but he gained enough to handle the ship as he thought of his method of attack. Doing so would be... difficult. It was not like the village was under complete siege. So sneaking into the village held no purpose. So... just a direct assault in this situation seemed like the best plan of action. He just hoped, that Yuki was alright. If the Genin vanished, what he wondered, happened to the higher leveled shinobi?
