The door of the room is a both tall and wide with a very hard and beautifully patterned snakewood over the thick oakwood base. There is an interesting eighth note shape hanging off of the snakewood and upon further investigation you realize it's a real snake! It doesn't seem to approve of you waking it from its nap and uncurls in a menacing way to hiss at you before curling back up into an eighth note shape.
You finally go to open the door, pushing against the layers of wood that lay over the already thick and heavy oakwood. The door rather hard to push open for the every day first year student and it takes a moment but eventually the door pushes open and you can't help but wonder why someone would need such a thick door. Perhaps it is to cover the sound of screams? Well, it would make sense. The room is the music room but it doesn't make it any more reassuring.
The classroom is a rather large with rich chocolate brown walls and high concave ceilings with long crimson curtains hanging down from the top of them. If you are curious enough to go open the curtains you will not find a single window behind any of them which really doesn't help reassure your earlier thought. The floors below your feet creek as you step down on them in certain spots and when you look down you realize the floors across the entire classroom are all a dark mahogany wood. There are a few lines of chairs on the floor but otherwise the lower level of the classroom looks rather empty.
At the back of the room there is platform area and overlooking balcony that sits about fifteen feet off the ground floor with a set of stairs with mahogany railings going up both sides and long crimson curtains hanging all along the back wall. Just in front of and below the platform there is a small stage nested between the stairs with more crimson curtains hanging down over it from the railings above. As your eyes follow the railings back, you'll find that at the top of the balcony seems to the professor's area which has actually has furniture currently out unlike the rest of the classroom. There is a plush red couch overlooking the room just in front of the railing above the stage with a desk pressing behind that. Of course, there is a chair at the desk but there is no one sitting there. Just where is the professor?

At the back of the classroom there is a sole music stand sitting in front of the stage. It looks simple enough if you ignore the teeth that seem to be grinning at you, even more so when your hand gets closer to it. Over top of the music stand there are several sheets of music lain loosely over it. The sheets of music are empty though with only the words "Music Class Sign-Up Sheet" written beautifully across the top bar with either a single eighth note or two eighth notes beamed together beside it. There is no where specific on the sheet to write your name so you just write it wherever there is room. If on the off chance there isn't room for you, another music sheet is below it for you.

(( Do not worry about having to "reserve" a post here because you're worried you won't be able to get your character into the class. Sign-ups will be open and will stay open longer than a first come, first serve bias would allow. I understand a lot of you aren't all in the same timezone and I want to give everyone a chance to sign up if they so desire. Post your RP with your roll and then go back to react to the results as well as posting your sign-up sheet.
When you make your post to sign up, please roll 2 6-sided dice. If your first number is odd then the music stand bit you but if it is even then your hand escape the gnarly teeth of the music stand. The second number is how hard the music stand bit you for. The higher your roll, the harder it bit you. Please play out your character making a vocalized noise of some sort from the music stand biting you.
Otherwise, feel free to socialize with your fellow students until the class starts. ))

Music class? Really?! Yes! There were so many classes lately that Junko was just thrilled to be a part of! Music class being one of them; she had enjoyed singing so much for her play audition, and now Yaya was setting up the singing club...she definitely wanted part of this class. She walked in with a happy bounce in her step, gasping and stopping the moment she entered the room. It. Was. Gorgeous! She clasped her hands underneath her chin and looked all around, walking toward the back of the classroom with a noise of awe. Amazing! This room was wonderful! Hmmm? Why was this music stand smiling up at her? It was kind of... foreboding. She frowned, looking distrustfully toward the music stand. Ehhhh...maybe if she was quick? She grabbed her snake pen out of her sleeve and quickly scribbled her name onto a sheet of music, managing to get her hand away from the stand before it could bite her. Ha! Stupid stand.

This classroom was doubtlessly beautiful. Just as any music room should be, he thought to himself as he walked in. Gabrian had taken the time to admire the door and the exquisite patterns (yes, even the snake, which he actually approved of), and later turned to inspect the room in it's entirety, "What do you think, Ren?" the professor seemed to be missing at the moment though that was hardly surprising or strange. Maybe professors waited till the last moment to come into class, and others... well, he wasn't going to get into others. He finally spotted the music stands and he drew nearer to them, turning to look over his shoulder at the gryphon as he extended a hand to hover over the papers, "Too dark for you? Seems like a perfect place for your napping, though it does seem lacking in pillows and-" he paused as he felt the teeth close over his gloved hand, making him hiss out loud, "What ins JACK'S name....?" he finally turned to look at the stand, which had it's teeth currently closed over his hand; it was perfectly unharmed though. Not only had the glove protected the nix's skin, but the ...creature hadn't really bitten him with much force at all, "Don't you dare," the words were hissed darkly at the music stand, and after just a beat, it released Gabrian's hand. He was able to harmlessly grab a sheet, though he did offer the stand a mild scowl, "Bad boy." Though he had to admit, part of the blame was his too. He should have obviously been looking at the music stand; that had been careless of him, "Careful, Ren," he drawled as he passed by the gryphon's side, "They have teeth and they're not particularly afraid to use them."

Music class, something that Alcyone had been looking forward to for awhile. Even though she wasn't a very talented guitarist, she still was interested in learning to get better and perhaps even learning to sing. Something that her mother had insisted she do once she got to school. Had something to do with being a proper lady or another.
Alcyone entered the classroom but didn't see the professor. Interesting. There seemed to be a sign up sheet in the back of the room and she really didn't take notice to the fact that it seemed to be grinning at her. There was only one name on the sheet when she got there and it was Junko! She would have to find her after she signed up.
Quickly, the water demon scrawled her name onto the music sheet but before she could pull away, the music stand had somehow managed to grab hold of her hand. Squealing rather loudly, she managed to wrench her hand away from the music stand but not before it drew blood. "Candlejack! That hurt!" She furrowed her brow and finally realized that her hand was bleeding and had a full set of teeth marks in it. Holding her hand, Alcie looked around for something to wrap around her hand.

Music Class. Now, if there was a class Israfel wanted to take, it would be music. THAT was music to his flapping earwings. The classroom was just...everything he could have hoped for and more. Big, perfect for vocals and...were those REAL MUSIC SHEETS? Oh jack no more having to make his own or hunt down half eaten copies from the library. This was most assuredly why he'd come to school. This was where he could learn to be the siren to do his family proud. For Jack's sake there was even a small stage! Oh...wait.Was that..the professor's area? Cocking his head to the side as Israfel went to the stage to sign in, he rested his hand on the music stand while his eyes wandered, trying to find the absent teacher. This proved a most irresponsible idea, as a wet tongue touched his finger tips before teeth dug into his skin just grazing as he pulled away in shock. A high pitched cry of surprise escaped the siren before he groaned forgetting that some things in classrooms were better left alone. Like maybe a music stand placed on the center of the stage. Little lines of red where the teeth had ran on his skin made his feather ruffle a tad in anger. it looked like he'd been stupid and smacked his hand into a corner or a wall or something. Still, better then skin breaking. THEN he'd have blood on his clothes. And he was running out of his nice white shirts. Still, filling out the sign in sheet, Israfel looked for a place to go. Did he wait on the stage as some teachers in the past had requested, or down, on the general floor. Shuffling foot to foot, he felt his nervousness might get the better of, and so retreated to the back of the class, trying hide where he might not be seen.

"I think that I could have slept for at least five more minutes before you woke me up this morning," Ren answered, stifling a yawn as he turned to look at Gabrian. "Oh, you meant the class. Right. It's, uh, nice."
"Nice" was an understatement. The room was enormous, with elaborate fixtures, elegant decorations, and a pristine cleanliness that made the entire place seem very dignified, nearly elite. Ren let out a derisive grunt, hands in his pockets as he followed the nix further into the room. It was not that he disliked music; on the contrary, he found it both soothing and relaxing, which was why he had not protested when Gabrian had decided that they both should attend. It was the fact that the room, with is noble and elegant feel, made him think of his own house - the stale perfection, the forced facade. Ren rolled his shoulders, attempting to dispel some of the uncomfortable feeling that had settled in his muscles.
At the back of the room was a small music stand that held the sign up sheet. Ren watched Gabrian reach towards it, but obviously the stand had different ideas because it was suddenly latched around his fingers, tiny teeth biting into the nix's hand. Ren raised an eyebrow.
"Touchy little stand, isn't it?" he said mildly, reaching for the sign up sheet and snatching it lazily up just before the thing managed to snipe at his own fingers. "Thanks for the warning," Ren said, scribbling his name beneath the others' and then setting it back down, smirking cheekily at the nix. "If it bites me, I'll just bite back, anyway."
Yawning a bit, Ren slipped his hands back into his pockets, following Gabrian to their seats.

Christof shuffled into the classroom, his face tightly bundled in his scarf as he glanced about to see who had arrived so far. Only a few he had met in passing so far, which lead him to then eyeball the seats towards the back of the room. First thing first, though, the sign up sheet- the students before him seemed to jump and yelp, which made him shift anxiously as he quietly made his way up after them, gripping his backpack under his arm so tightly it made an odd harmonica-like wail. Just.... relax. Nothing's going to hurt you. Right. He stood before it, the teeth glistening as he tentatively reached for the pen and- A muffled yelp escaped his throat, dropping the backpack with a clattering with interesting harmonics as he hopped back from the stand, tucking his pinched fingers under his arm- HELL'S BELLS! The thing hadn't bitten hard, but even so it had taken one of his fingers with it! Resisting the urge to kick the thing, he quickly scribbled his name in while it was distracted by his detached digit. Hopefully he had a spare somewhere in the bottom of his bag, or maybe someone could lend him one...

Christof wasn't the only one who had heard about Music class and brought his own instrument. While it had been a pain to open the doors, he managed and shoved his bag strapped to his side along with him. It wasn't like he could get much practice anywhere else, and if he grew rusty, his parents would know. It was also nice he could get a grade for what had been more of a chore at times, but at least now he had a place.
With a leather saddle bag on his hip – which was actually made from a saddle – Calder came in and saw Christof further ahead. The hunch was unmistakable. Trotting over, he smiled at the other boil and noticed the bag. He had to wonder what was inside or if he was just running an errand. Unlike the patchwork boil, Calder's instrument was sticking out, or part of it was. It looked like three clarinets sticking out from the flap, but the connecting green tassels said this wasn't the case. "Didn't know you liked music." He said, following the boil up to the nearly empty room to the pedestal further up.
When he noticed several students yelping, he grew a little alarmed, but thought maybe they just got shocked by static. It wasn't until he was waiting behind Christof, trying to reaching out and look inside of his bag, that the Igor jerked back, causing Calder to jerk his hand away from the bag. When he noticed the pedestal at least, his ears dropped. "Ow, that's not very nice." He looked at the Igor and his missing finger. "Tough luck there." He pointed out, before slipping beside the boil and reaching out. Just as it made a attempt to bite, Calder jerked back and then shot his hand out again, snatching the pen and scribbling his name down. He only paused a moment when he saw the blood and frowned, but didn't look back at Christof just yet. He wasn't about to look away from this piece of violent furniture and get a finger missing to. He quickly wrote his name out.
Tossing the pen back in it's place, he stepped back, wary of the pedestal. "Hah! Guess you just need to be fast." Fast like a kelpie that is. He beamed a bit of pride before adjusting the strap to his bag, and then looked back at his friend frowning. "Do you have anything to wrap that with?" he asked, but then looked at himself a moment before taking a piece of his scarf and tearing a strip off. Checking to see if it was big enough, he held it out. "Want to see if we can get your finger out?"

((Well this only took forever. SORRY. My sign up sheet will be in my latest post.))
Though there were other students she knew already in the classroom, Belladonna's single mindedness in succeeding in her classes took over and she made a direct bee-line for the music stand with the sign up sheet. She had seen it bite others, so all her concentration went to actually not being bitten. When a quick hand darted toward it and returned unscathed, the witch couldn't help but do a little dance and song number.

Bul knew it was time to really sit down and get to thinking about classes. He was being too picky and too lazy for the first few weeks of classes and missed out on some of the best opportunities to get on the ball. Fortunately, after getting hooked on groanspring he knew he was falling behind his peers and sought out a week to really pay close attention to what would be available, as not to miss out once again. When Bul heard a music class was opening up he lept at the opportunity and went straight for the designated classroom, this time not kicking and tossing his snotball around. Music was something he appreciated, though not in all forms but enough to be more civilized around it. Good Jack I hope I don't have to do much singing... he thought to himself as he approached the classroom doors. Slinking in, he noticed the music stand and raised a brow. Already the room portrayed a foyer of an uppity demon's mansion on ScreamTV. Isn't there supposed to be a teacher here? How the hell am I supposed to sign up for- it was then that Bul noticed the music stand smirking wildly. "Nasty looking thing.." he uttered softly under his breath then shifted his gaze upwards to find the sheets of music hanging down. "Bingo." With that he walked over in some sort of swagger-motion and reached up to grab one of the papers, all the while haughtily smiling to the music stand.
It seemed that Bul's taunting nature caught the best of him as the music stand stretched up and nipped him in the hand. Bul shook it off, though not without a hiss and a chuckle. "Touche," he said, and started licking his minor wound. "But I got what I wanted. Maybe next time." He grinned and flicked his tail at the stand but got another snap from the possessed object. Piece of s**t music stand. Holding the paper now Bul took a short pencil he brought from his pocket and began signing his name. "I suppose I leave this here?" he asked looking back to the music stand. Taking the paper he signed, he set it next to the stand but on the ground and glanced around the room once more to take in it's extravagance. Better get used to this scene. Maybe I can convince the professor to let us play contemporary s**t.

Rosciel walked into the classroom, wondering what the hell he was doing there. He was an unconventional music student, after all. He couldn't read music, literally, he spent more time playing his own music than the classical pieces which were more fitting to his stringed tastes, and he wasn't a fan of lyrics in his music. He felt words cluttered the meaning. Not to mention he was a very private person, and his music was a very private matter. And yet here he was, walking into a classroom where the first thing he had to do was sign a damned paper. Only if the music stand could feel looks would it know the intense glare the incubus sent in its direction. Hating every second that he had to do this, Rosc took the writing utensil and switched his vision into the narrowed concentration that let him see the contrasting shades on the paper, where other students had written their names. His head hurt already as he started to add his name as quickly as possible. Just as he lifted his hand away from writing his name and switched his vision back to normal, the music stand chomped down. Hard. "SON OF A JACK-DAMNED b***h!" he cursed and he grabbed the stand by the top of its mouth with his other hand, prying it back open so that he could free his hand. He bared his teeth at the stand, showing two rows of pearl-white fangs. He had half a mind to snatch the papers from it and kick it over. But that would probably just get him in trouble. So instead, head pounding and bow-hand bleeding, he headed back towards the door, taking a strip of bandages from his pocket to wrap around his hand. "Screw this s**t," he muttered under his breath.

For once, it would appear the Ghoul had shown up on time for a class. She was pretty excited, she loved listening to music, so it only made sense to attend a class where she'd get to learn about it. The dracolich poked her head in, giving the current classload a once over. She recognized Israfel from Christmastown, and a couple others from minipet class. Though she didn't actually know any of them. One student seemed relatively upset about something (she'd not actually seen Rosciel get bit), and he appeared to be leaving the class.
The dracolich moved aside of the boil, throwing him a concerned glance, but with an uncertainty of what to say, she just kept quiet. She continued into the room, noting the sign up sheet on the music stand. Reaching out for the pen, the music stand suddenly sprung to life, and caught onto the ghouls hand with a tight jaw. Cyrilla let lose an ear piercing shriek, undead or not, she could still feel pain. The music stand released it's prey suddenly, and the dracolich's hand came reeling back as she pulled it in close to her body. What the jack was that all about? Frowning, she reached out with her other hand, snapping up the pen quickly and giving a quick scribble of her name on the second sheet. She didn't care about the quality of it for the time being, just that it was there.
Now onto pretending that she wasn't ready to die from embarrassment.
